Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (CNN) - From union activists to Democratic members of Congress, the message to the White House is clear: They want President Obama to present a clearer, more coherent message about his plans to turn around the economy.
In interviews across Pennsylvania, rank-and-file Democrats said that message has been lacking. And selling a clear vision for economic recovery is the only way to improve Democrats' chances and prevent Republicans from taking control of the House of Representatives in the midterm elections.
This sense of urgency comes as the president unveils initiatives this week to help spur the economy and job growth.

Obama was big on his speeches during the election about help people put their kids through school. How come the Fed can loan money to big bank interests for under 1% and then they tell us that student loans are at 9%?
The Democratic Party is the one with solutions- There would be no Social Security, Unemployment Insurance, Labor Unions, women's voting rights, and no Civil Rights Law. For the American people to decide to go backwarrds at a time such as this is infathomable!

The DEMO PARTY should show the number of jobs that have been added since 2009 although growth is slow it is there! They are a little late to the party – DUH you should have had an economic message at the beginning of 2010 and be putting it out there NOT waiting until weeks before the mid term election. Oh I can't stand politicians!!! I hate so much time was spent on the healthcare debate. Things are turning around but our microwave society wants to see 7,000,000 jobs added overnight. Hmmm smaller government means less border patrol agents, smaller armed forces and maybe smaller size congress and senate (REWRITE) consititution for that and for term limits. How many staff members do they each employ? Should be capped at 5 – - again smaller government.

Obama has painted himself into a corner. If he starts yelling "Spend, spend, spend!" to please his left wing, he'll completely alienate the right and independents. If he stops spending, he'll lose the left. If he does nothing, he loses everyone. No matter what he does, he loses.
Obama ought to "man up," as the idiom goes, admit that he's in over his head, has no idea what he's doing, has lost the confidence of most of the country, and resign. But he shouldn't do that until after the next Congress is seated–as it is now, if Obama resigns, we get Biden, who-s right up there with Scooby Doo in leadership potential, followed by–shudder–Nancy Pelosi. Amazing, these Dumbocrats and their concept of the Bush tax cuts. Anyone making over $250,000 to a Dumbocrat is rich... If you are a small business man or woman, or an educated person and married to like you could very likely make a combined income of over $250,000.00, not all income sticks in your hand as anyone knows that has ever run a cash flow business. Making a reported income of 250K puts your income tax debt at about 50K. That is more than I made annually for the first three jobs in my professional career and twice what I can bring home now. *Unbelievable...just read these idiot Lib posts and you will see the truth as to what they are entirely about, and that is taking your hard earned money to give to someone else that wont do for themselves. The President has to be outwardly more aggressive. Jimmy Carter, who was a decent man, was manipulated by anyone who had a louder voice than he did. He is looking more and like President Carter, who did broker a peace between Israel and Egypt; but I believe most don't remember this successful item. Anytime the President talks about jobs, he should put the Repubs and others on the defensive and have them name jobs. It is a cop out to just say "jobs, jobs, jobs" and never give specifics. He should not talk about what he inherited because that won't work nowadays. He should bring back into the fold those who voted form him in 2008 and don't want to vote for him again. He has to point out that he is the better alternative and so are the Democrats than the party of "no" is offering. They surely are the party of "hate." They cannot disagree with the President in civil ways. The blogs make it too easy for the hatred to be spouted because people believe they are anonymous. Well, it's safe to say that any sane, rational, informed and well-reasoned POTUS will ALWAYS face this problem: the rich and the GOP/conservative base don't want to hear what needs to be said in answer to these questions and the rest of the country that is ready to hear it, isn't yet ready or doesn't have the b@lls to jam it down the former's throat. The already wealthy don't want to hear that the party's over and neither do the giant corporations that have proxy puppets in the Congress and throughout gov't. The GOP/conservative base amongst the rest of the populace has bought a one way ticket to ideological bliss...believing in the trickle-down voodoo economic farce no matter what facts and empirical evidence you throw at them. As long as they have their guns, their bibles and no minorities living within a few mile radius, they're happy. And the Dems/liberals...well, we see ti time and time again...spineless capitulators who cower in front of the onslaught of GOP misonformation campaigns and demagoguery...not to mention that they are in many cases just as beholden to corporate interests as the rest. They are consistent with this very same messaging problem...we see it every time...because they don't have the guts to say and do what needs to be said and done, and to tell anyone who whines about it to grow up, suck it up and deal with it. What his supporters and followers have not been able to grasp is that Obmamama has already put forth his plans for economic recovery. There is no Plan B! There is no more coming! He doesn't have the slightest clue what to do now and is grasping for straws that aren't there. Nothing he's tried has budged the economic numbers. He's lied too much to have any credibility. Face it, at the 2 year mark, he's already a lame duck.
I don't see the harm in this. While I am not buying ANYTHING the republicans ARE NOT offering – some may need a more specific message. While the articles about republicans taking control in November and Obama's dropping poll numbers make exciting news this does not mean its true. I'm sure I speak for millions when I say there is STILL a large base of people firmly behind our president. Please people don't be lead by news outlets. Make your own informed decisions. Our president is not God. He is human and he is trying to lead our country back into the prosperous, well respected leader we once were. I am still willing to give him the chance to do it.

I think Obama's message is crystal clear: "Bush did it." Unfortunately, Obama is just Bush's 3rd term in terms of spending, bailouts, endless wars, favoring Wall Street and unions over the working, middle, and professional classes.
The President, Congress and the Senate cannot be expected to create jobs by themselves, the private sector has to jump on the bandwagon. Problem is, the private sector has had a field day with this "recession" by being able to let go those who were given nice benefits and to whom age has crept up on. They hire temps, so as not to pay a salary or give benefits and to those lucky enough to have a job, give them more responsibility for the same pay.
Until private corporations start hiring, we are going to be stuck in this rut for years. Makes no difference who is the sitting President, be they Republican or Democrat, they don't do the hiring.

What the President has said, has been clear and coherent, in my opinion. However, maybe a modification in presentation might be in order. One way of doing this is to keep in mind, that people have a very short attention span and the media is going to jump in and dissect every phrase and nuance. Most likely they will give a 'negative spin' to everything the President says. To get any message across the President must thrart the 'spin'. Every statement of fact must be repeated and 'differently' at least three different times during a public presentation. At the end, of the presentation (the fourth time). All statements are summarized and closed as a sort proof to validity. The President can break away from the intent of the presentation at will, but must do the repetition in order to carry the ideas home.

That would mean that Obama has added more to the national debt than the total amount added by the previous 43 POTUS.

The last time I checked the President was VERY CLEAR on where he stood on healthcare.
