Democrats to the president: Get a clear message

Rep. Jason Altmire shakes hands during the Pittsburgh Labor Day Parade.

Rep. Jason Altmire shakes hands during the Pittsburgh Labor Day Parade.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (CNN) - From union activists to Democratic members of Congress, the message to the White House is clear: They want President Obama to present a clearer, more coherent message about his plans to turn around the economy.

In interviews across Pennsylvania, rank-and-file Democrats said that message has been lacking. And selling a clear vision for economic recovery is the only way to improve Democrats' chances and prevent Republicans from taking control of the House of Representatives in the midterm elections.

This sense of urgency comes as the president unveils initiatives this week to help spur the economy and job growth.

And as a Democrat to the Democrats in Congress - Grow a Set and start standing up and fighting while you still have a chance. I am sick of seeing this bunch cower to the GOP over and over again. Back up the guy we elected!! He's doing all the leg work, why don't you stand up and be counted. That the GOP is in the position they are in based on smears and lies is pitiful with all that has been accomplished by the Democrats. That Harry Reid is in the fight of his life against an idiot like Engle is pitiful. And Pelosi – does she even leave her house in California? Incredible - they want the president to do it all for them.

I'd just like to know about Federal Student loans.
Obama was big on his speeches during the election about help people put their kids through school. How come the Fed can loan money to big bank interests for under 1% and then they tell us that student loans are at 9%?

The Democratic Party is the one with solutions- There would be no Social Security, Unemployment Insurance, Labor Unions, women's voting rights, and no Civil Rights Law. For the American people to decide to go backwarrds at a time such as this is infathomable!

The DEMO PARTY should show the number of jobs that have been added since 2009 although growth is slow it is there! They are a little late to the party – DUH you should have had an economic message at the beginning of 2010 and be putting it out there NOT waiting until weeks before the mid term election. Oh I can't stand politicians!!! I hate so much time was spent on the healthcare debate. Things are turning around but our microwave society wants to see 7,000,000 jobs added overnight. Hmmm smaller government means less border patrol agents, smaller armed forces and maybe smaller size congress and senate (REWRITE) consititution for that and for term limits. How many staff members do they each employ? Should be capped at 5 – – again smaller government.

  6. Liberalism is a mental disorder

Obama's clear message to Democrats: "Run for the hills, a Republican wave is about to wash you out of Washington DC."
"Remember when I said for you pass that healthcare bill, I wrongly
overestimated my appeal and mystique." "When I said, I won and you lost to the Republicans; they knew I wasn't going to consider any of their common sense ideas to rescue the economy." "I let Pelosi and Reid write the bills in the dead of night, with my ACORN and SIEU buddies; it's not my fault." "My wife only spent $299,995, not $300,000 on her vacation to Spain." "Axelrod, Emanuel, Gibbs, and Jarrett made me do it." " I didn't know that the ACORN fraud would be exposed." "George Soros promised me that everything would be taken care of." "But I'm the messiah." "Maybe we can count votes in the other 7 states to equal 57 states." "Let me turn off the credit card
filters again so we can get foreign campaign contributions from Gaza
and the other arab states." "Don't worry, you have me."

He needs to check with his union masters and get his binkyprompter with the program. They will tell him what to say and what to do like they do everything else in this administration.

Obama has painted himself into a corner. If he starts yelling "Spend, spend, spend!" to please his left wing, he'll completely alienate the right and independents. If he stops spending, he'll lose the left. If he does nothing, he loses everyone. No matter what he does, he loses.

Obama ought to "man up," as the idiom goes, admit that he's in over his head, has no idea what he's doing, has lost the confidence of most of the country, and resign. But he shouldn't do that until after the next Congress is seated–as it is now, if Obama resigns, we get Biden, who-s right up there with Scooby Doo in leadership potential, followed by–shudder–Nancy Pelosi. Gotta wait until Nancy is unlamented history before Obama leaves.

Obama never had a clue as to how America became great. He only
was a rebel rouser and spent time in Congress and only voted Present.
He is a mere spoiled person who is a pawn for the elite in control
of banks, car companys, unions, ect.

Obama could not run a quick stop staion and show a profit with
his stupid tax and spend- spend- and more spend.

He can only print money and does not have a clue how money is

What a shame he was put in as president. #44 will go down in the
history books as a leader without any economic background and a
our worst commander in chief in the history of America

In God We Trust is what this person is against. Our fore Father printed this on our money/goverment building/ monuments and
crosses mark the home of the brave that gave their life for America.

Wake up America/ or become a slave to socializm.

Look forward for a bright future and not into the doom and gloom this obama guy is leading us to.

Amazing, these Dumbocrats and their concept of the Bush tax cuts. Anyone making over $250,000 to a Dumbocrat is rich... If you are a small business man or woman, or an educated person and married to like you could very likely make a combined income of over $250,000.00, not all income sticks in your hand as anyone knows that has ever run a cash flow business. Making a reported income of 250K puts your income tax debt at about 50K. That is more than I made annually for the first three jobs in my professional career and twice what I can bring home now. *Unbelievable...just read these idiot Lib posts and you will see the truth as to what they are entirely about, and that is taking your hard earned money to give to someone else that wont do for themselves. Someone asked me recently where was my humanity, I responded, "it left with my last paycheck!"

The President has to be outwardly more aggressive. Jimmy Carter, who was a decent man, was manipulated by anyone who had a louder voice than he did. He is looking more and like President Carter, who did broker a peace between Israel and Egypt; but I believe most don't remember this successful item. Anytime the President talks about jobs, he should put the Repubs and others on the defensive and have them name jobs. It is a cop out to just say "jobs, jobs, jobs" and never give specifics. He should not talk about what he inherited because that won't work nowadays. He should bring back into the fold those who voted form him in 2008 and don't want to vote for him again. He has to point out that he is the better alternative and so are the Democrats than the party of "no" is offering. They surely are the party of "hate." They cannot disagree with the President in civil ways. The blogs make it too easy for the hatred to be spouted because people believe they are anonymous. It is sickening that people have to be so unconstructive in their criticisms. They are obviously sore losers and/or uneducated people who make a mockery of the American system. If other countries hate us, we have only ourselves to blame. The "Ugly American" is roaring his/her face too much.

VOTERS to DEMOCRATS – Excite your BASE!!! Stop jumping ship and STICK TOGETHER!!!!

Why is EVERY Ticker on CNN about the RepubliCAN'Ts???? It's because the Democrats ARE NOT making enough NOISE!!! Too busy NOT pushing what you were elected for and the accomplishments you made!!! You act like "SCARY CATS" and are constantly being DOGGED by the RepubliCAN'Ts!!!

(YES, I said it, and the animal lovers should realize it a 'figure of speech' – same thing that KICKED IN when President Obama said he was being talked about like a DOG – you know, it's a "DOG EAT DOG" world. But the REPUBLICAN'Ts took that and RAN AWAY with it – making it MORE than what is was!!!)

Yes, President Obama will have a clear message but what are the Democrats going to do about it!!!??????

Well, it's safe to say that any sane, rational, informed and well-reasoned POTUS will ALWAYS face this problem: the rich and the GOP/conservative base don't want to hear what needs to be said in answer to these questions and the rest of the country that is ready to hear it, isn't yet ready or doesn't have the b@lls to jam it down the former's throat. The already wealthy don't want to hear that the party's over and neither do the giant corporations that have proxy puppets in the Congress and throughout gov't. The GOP/conservative base amongst the rest of the populace has bought a one way ticket to ideological bliss...believing in the trickle-down voodoo economic farce no matter what facts and empirical evidence you throw at them. As long as they have their guns, their bibles and no minorities living within a few mile radius, they're happy. And the Dems/liberals...well, we see ti time and time again...spineless capitulators who cower in front of the onslaught of GOP misonformation campaigns and demagoguery...not to mention that they are in many cases just as beholden to corporate interests as the rest. They are consistent with this very same messaging problem...we see it every time...because they don't have the guts to say and do what needs to be said and done, and to tell anyone who whines about it to grow up, suck it up and deal with it. Add in that the liberal community absolutely loves to go into circular-firing-squad-formation after gaining control, as if the fight is suddenly over with the GOP, and poof: an opponent that has been ignored and whose misinformation, fearmongering, baseless ideological talking points and other shenanigans haven't been effectively and consistently torn apart, while simultaneously getting out positive affirmative messaging, because we're too busy worrying about not getting what we wanted, like a single-payer health care system, or whether the economy was magically fixed in 2 years after 3 decades of total nonsense policies and allowing giant corporations to take such control over our daily living and gov't that all they have to do is say "woops, forgot to hire anyone for a while there because you were threatening to stop me from abusing my middle-class employees and hold me responsible for making a positive, commensurate contribution to the society that lets me earn all these billions....sorry pal, but I'll take my chances with the morons who believe that giving us more money will magically result in some of it raining down from the heavens when I spend it on a new Bentley and new bewbs for my wife."

I Think The President Has Presented A Coherent Message. His Problems Has Been With Get Along To Get Along With Republicans! The Same Republicans Who'll Dare (With A Straight Face!) Argue About Democrats Deficit Spending When They've Supported 2 Wars (Iraq & Afghanistan), And Bush Tax Cuts That Were Not Paid For Either (And Would Dare Wanting Them Extended). These Things Are As Much About The Discussion Now And Going Forward. Instead The Viewing, Reading, And Listening Audience Get Manipulated By Provocators In The Press Media (CNN Some Of The Biggest Offenders). Instead, Real Facts Are Replaced With Opinions (CNN Opinion Research Polls) And Debate That Fails (Deliberately) To Address All Facts.

What his supporters and followers have not been able to grasp is that Obmamama has already put forth his plans for economic recovery. There is no Plan B! There is no more coming! He doesn't have the slightest clue what to do now and is grasping for straws that aren't there. Nothing he's tried has budged the economic numbers. He's lied too much to have any credibility. Face it, at the 2 year mark, he's already a lame duck.

I don't see the harm in this. While I am not buying ANYTHING the republicans ARE NOT offering – some may need a more specific message. While the articles about republicans taking control in November and Obama's dropping poll numbers make exciting news this does not mean its true. I'm sure I speak for millions when I say there is STILL a large base of people firmly behind our president. Please people don't be lead by news outlets. Make your own informed decisions. Our president is not God. He is human and he is trying to lead our country back into the prosperous, well respected leader we once were. I am still willing to give him the chance to do it.

Republicans what are you offering? Inquiring minds would like to know.

President Obama needs a new script writer; someone comfortable writing fiction and tall fairytales. Just how many ways can Obama blame others for his shortcomings?

Bill Clinton had Obama pegged right on the campaign trail when he described Obama's positions a fairytale.

C'mon Bill, tell us the truth, Isn't President Temeprompter just all talk and no substance? And way, way over his head wihout a clue what to do.
