Rahm: Will he or won't he?

A source close to Emanuel says he will probably look at the open seat for Chicago Mayor as an option but has some time to make the decision.

(CNN) – The news that Chicago Mayor Richard Daley will not seek another term sent blackberries buzzing with the question: Will White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel turn in his hard pass to run for Daley's seat?

A source close to Emanuel tells CNN that it's complicated. He takes his job seriously and feels a responsibility to see out his duties serving the President during difficult times. That said he's made no secret of the fact that he's always wanted to be Mayor of Chicago, a city he served in the House of Representatives.

Read a statement on Mayor Daley's retirement from Rahm Emanuel here.

it is completely cowardly to write a headline in the form of a question. author, you need to have the guts to say what you think, not hide behind a question.

sick of this stupid "question format" of headline writing.

I have a feeling a lot of people will be leaving...either walking the plank or as rats leaving a sinking ship.

Rahm thinking of leaving. Who can blame him for wanting to get off a sinking obama ship. Save yourself quick before the ship brings us all down.

I'm a democrat and I have never liked Rahm Emanuel. He's a snake and I just don't like people who operate like reptiles.

Who's to say he'd win anyway? Alot of voters arent' happy.

He's was sold as this real smart manipulator to get things done in Washington.
All I've seen is Obama doing all the work. Where is this Rahm anyway? Is he busy at a batmitzvah?

We wish him the best. President Obama needs to loose some of the orginal team. He needs Major Garrett as his Press Secretary or even higher. Valorie Jarett can/ should stay and Robert Gibbs in a different role. Plouffe needs to work with Gov. Tim Kane and tackle the mid terms too. Strange but President Obama needs to bring President Clinton into his immediate fold ASAP and make people see President Carter differently so he is not compared to him negatively: A Visial Re Do!
I don't care about history books until later- I am in the right now. Leaders need to unite for the country right now.
But understand President Clinton flourished with a GOP House but he wasn't Black -for real.

It would be nice for once to see someone put their personal ambition aside to stay with a job they committed themselves to.

Well, I sure would not miss him in the White House, but all this equates to for me is cronyism. He is a piece of garbage just like all the others advising Obama. They are just trying to add to their "resume." Really he can go back to Chicago and crawl back under the rock from which he came, I just wish he'd bring everyone else back with him.

    Run Rahm Run!

Thank goodness. I hope he does run for mayor of Chicago (& loses), but just get him out of Washington, DC. If he's the one advising this president, he needs to be fired!! Plus, he needs to learn how to be diplomatic instead of a steam-roller! Good riddance!!
