Republicans highlight 'summer of failure'

The NRSC is out with a new web ad Tuesday.

(CNN) - It hasn't been the best of summers for congressional Democrats and now Republicans are making an effort to remind voters just how difficult the last three months have been for the party in charge in Washington.

In a new Web video out Tuesday morning, the National Republican Senatorial Committee repeatedly flashes reports from a wide variety of cable news programs that report a rising unemployment rate, question the efficacy of the stimulus program, discuss the possibility of a double-dip recession, and show President Obama's sinking approval ratings.

The ad also takes digs at the president for embarking on a 10 day vacation in Martha's Vineyard and first lady Michelle Obama for visiting Spain on a lavish trip with her daughter earlier this year.

"So … How was YOUR summer?" the ad asks. "The Recovery Starts November 2nd."

The man just does not have a grasp about economics and while he brainwashes the dems about the evils of the wealthy, he lives his lavish lifestyle. Why not lead by example? Do the idiots who follow him honestly think he understands their plight? His actions speak louder tha words!

The GOP has given this country 20 months of NO. They are a complete disgrace to the term governing.

Vote No for the Party of No in November

He sure did have himself a blast, didn't he? How many vacations was it? How much golf? How much did he give the corrupt, slimy union bosses? How many times did he "slam" or "blast" people who disagree with him. What a leader. No hope and a change for the worse. The legend as the worst president we have ever had grows.

The man does not have a clue about economics and while he brainwashes his followers demonizing the wealthy, he lives a very lavish lifestyle. What don't these people see? Why doesn't he lead by example? Certainly people can see that the man does not understand nor care about the plight of the working class. He has an agenda that is more than words.

This fall vote "No to incumbents"

I want to add one more thing: Where were republicans when Bush went to Texas? Where were they when a republican president fabricated a reason to get us into a war no sane person could want? Where were they when we were torturing people? Oh I guess because it all happened on their watch it doesn't count. Talk about two faced idiots and liars. I'm not saying Obama is a saint, but republicans aren't saints either. I dread the day republicans are in charge.

So what is the GOP's plan for recovery?

If you are going to vote for them, shouldn't you at least get an answer to that? If you are willing to vote for them, since they are the one who created this mess in the first place, ....that says a lot about your desire to see this country move forward.

I'm not saying you have to agree with what Dems stand for, but shouldn't you force them to have plan?

Hate of Dems and/or a Black POTUS does help this country. If nothing else, it actually holds it hostage.

Ye without sin cast the first stone. Rising unemployment rate, question the efficacy of the stimulus program, discuss the possibility of a double-dip recession. America and the Republican forget too easy.

My summer would have been a lot better if Republicans hadn't used every possible obstruction to stall pro-business congressional bills, and blocked every administration appointee for purely partisan purposes.

    Thanks for asking, RNC!

Where was Bush when Hurricane Katrina happened? Oh that's right, he was vacationing in Texas. Bush took more vacation than any other president in our lifetime. The reason why we're in this mess is because of Bush...if what he did was so great then why isn't the GOP using him to promote their party?

Yes, we are in a deep hole that the REPUBLICANS dug for us, and no one should forget that, unless, of course, you are a Repub. And how about an accurate report on George W. and Laura Bush's vacations, of which there were many. The Repubs. had no problem with that while the surplus was being spent and the deficit was shooting up. They want it both ways......what hypocrites!!!!!

Unlike the Republicans who haven't lifted a finger to help the American people since November 5, 2008, President Obama has been working extremely hard on behalf of our country.

If the Republicans were in the White House, the economy would have gone into a Great Depression, Iraq would be a mess and we'd probably would have invaded Iran by now. Unemployment would be at 20% and our nation's infrastructure would be crumbling. The wealthy would be paying 10% in taxes and taking all their money out of our country, like rats leaving a sinking ship.

President Obama works hard – and he deserves vacation time. (And only a fool believes that he isn't getting daily briefings and working while his on vacation.)

Its not hard to highlight because it has been ugly for the American people. It sucks not to work and Obama has led us down a path that historically has not yielded jobs just more debt. This President needs supervision from an adult and it sure isn't more democrats so hopefully we will see some real hope and change in November.

All the Republicans have to offer us is saying NO to everything President Obama has tried to accomplish.

Republicans have absolutely no qualms about doing everything they can to make President Obama and our country fail, hoping that things get so bad and people will get so scared that they'll vote for the very people (Republicans) who took our country down the toilet in the first place.

What with all their whining and name-calling, their spreading of fear, hatred, division and lies, why would anyone in their right mind vote for a Republicans? That party is nothing but a club for childish, self-centered, hypocritical idiots!

And the GOP have done what? What is their plan, a plan that doesn't mimmick all the deregulation of financial markets, and tax cuts that helped put us in this mess? Ok...

We know what the GOP has to offer in solving America's problems – nothing. The Democrats have at least tried, and in many ways are on the way to solving America's problems. Think back to the fall of 2008 and ask yourself if you thought that America would be in as good a shape as it is two years later. The GOP will be in for a big surprise on election day. Not all Americans are idiots manipulated by political rhetoric and demagoguery.

What did the Republicans do for their vacation? There should be equal disclosure on what they, their spouses, and their children do on their vacations & free time.

You asked for it – now it is time to pony up the details.

Sleazy Repubs did everything they could to make it a "Summer of Failure" for our President and our country. And after more than eight years of failure and coruption under Republican control, then 18 months of thier home grown terroism of the US public, they think they should be in power again to push the same failed Republican policies?
These Republican hoodlums would further destroy our middle and working class for the benefit of their elite corporate sponsors.
All Republicans should be in jail, and definately not in power.

Remeber Congresman porky pig during Congressional hearings appologizing to BP for their being held accountable for their oil spill? That clown would be in charge of making BP clean up their disaster. That is only one reason of many why the Republicans are wrong for America.

We are not going back to what we had when you were in power.

  25. False and Biased brought to you by the GOP

I would like to ask the GOP "What are YOUR ideas for fixing the economy since you broke it in the first place?" So far the only ideas the GOP has put forth are the same things that got us into this mess - more tax cuts for the rich while neglecting anything that helps the middle class and more deregulation. Anyone who thinks that the GOP could do anything about the economy any faster or any better than the Obama administration has a very short memory. I'll stick with President Obama and the Democrats.
