(CNN) – Rahm Emanuel, President Obama's chief of staff, is known as a force of nature who efficiently navigates the back halls of Congress to get exactly what he wants.

He is an aggressive political animal who has been known to punctuate his arguments with the F-bomb. Most agree it's not because he's an angry man - it's just part of his foul-mouthed repertoire.

Emanuel's colorful reputation is regularly the subject of Obama's quips. Obama joked at the White House Correspondents Dinner this year that Mother's Day was a difficult holiday for Emanuel because "he's not used to saying the word 'day' after 'mother.' "

But there's so much more to Rahm than his mouth.

Rahm Emanuel will be missed. He knows what to do and when to do it. Mr. Emanuel is not afraid to tell it as he sees it. Unlike others in Washington he fights for what he believes in. If President Obama asked him to fight for a particular piece of legislation, he might do it out of loyaity to the President but he would be telling the President why the legislation is iil-advised.

He will be a hard man to replace.

Don't believe what CNN is saying in this story. There has been a lot of friction between members of team Obama and Emanuel will probably be glad to leave. He and Axlerod have diifferent views and have had an ongoing fight to get the attention of Obama.

Don't give Republicans another 8 years free rides. We can't pack them on our backs any longer while they support the rich.

Talk about "dissing" the Office of the President!
Mr. Emanuel's language is more colorful than necessary at that level of world power.
How much does the Obama White House want to lower the perceived dignity of that historic structure?
    Think about it.
Why would this administration want to allow that base an image to be projected?
Does President Obama think that Americans ought to be put in their places?

Anybody who thinks Emanuel has been "efficient" or that he has "gotten exactly what he wants" hasn't been paying attention.

That is, unless Emanuel's plan was to efficiently alienate the GOP and half of America while squandering Obama's tremendous political capital from the last election in less than half a term.

If that was his goal, he certainly got exactly what he wanted.

The way the incompetent, inept, corrupt president talks, I thought it was Bush and the Republican majorities in Congress that shaped his agenda. The whiny, simpering idiot blames everyone but his corrupt, slimy, staff led by Emmanuel.

I can't think of any bigger disqualifier for a prospective candidate than this!! Idiot thug!

Sorry, I don't usually resort to name calling, but in the "Rahmbo" case it is a perfectly accurate description of this lowlife.
