Former President Bill Clinton has been friends with Florida Rep. Kendrick Meek for nearly 20 years.

(CNN) - It's been a long time since U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek and former President Clinton met at the Suwanee Swifty store in Tallahassee, Florida.

Clinton, during his 1992 presidential bid, needed to make a stop for deodorant after landing at the airport. Meek, then a state trooper, was assigned to Clinton's detail and accompanied the Arkansas governor.

It's a visit both would remember for a long time - and something that would solidify a friendship lasting nearly two decades.

Clinton may be friends with Meeks, but we don't need another Obama rubber stamp in Congress. We need people that think for themselves and don't allow unsustainable policies to pass (healthcare, cap and trade and the fake financial reform bill).

Meek just bought himself the progressive South Florida vote....but he doesn't stand a chance in this ultra conservative state.

In other late breaking news, Rasmussen/Fox polling has the McCain/ Palin ticket up by two points over Obama/Biden in the 2008 presidential race.
