Palin, Beck team up on 9/11 event

Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck will appear together at an event in Alaska on September 11.
Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck will appear together at an event in Alaska on September 11.

(CNN) - After a wildly successful rally on the National Mall, Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck are teaming up again - but this time for a cost.

The two conservative rock-stars are set to appear together in Alaska on the ninth anniversary of the September 11 attacks in an event that costs a minimum of $65 to attend.

"We can count on Glenn to make the night interesting and inspiring, and I can think of no better way to commemorate 9/11 than to gather with patriots who will 'never forget,'" said Palin on her Facebook page earlier this week. "Hope to see you there!"

But in sharp contrast to the free event in Washington last month, tickets to this latest Palin-Beck affair run as high as $225 – a price tag that some Democrats are making hay about given the somber timing of the event.

But Christopher Cox, the Anchorage-based promoter of the event, told the Anchorage Daily News the date is purely coincidental and was originally scheduled for a week earlier.

Still, Cox said he understands the significance of the timing.

"You know what, it's a great date for me, for America, for Alaska," he said.

A Beck spokesperson says Sarah Palin is not receiving an appearance fee, and Beck is donating his to charity.

"Glenn had always intended to donate the speaking fee from the event on Saturday, September 11th in Alaska to Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Governor Palin is not and was never going to receive a fee for introducing Glenn at this event," a spokesperson for Glenn Beck told CNN.

Event organizers say the 4,000 seat venue is nearly sold out.

Is it just me - or is this grandstanding ... I am so sick of Glenn and Sarah - maybe we should do a Titanic event - put them on a boat, sink it with an iceberg, and then throw a party ... these two have outlived their 15 min of fame!

They don't even try to fake it anymore – they're out for cash and getting it as fast as they can before enough people see them for what they are. They don't need to worry. Their followers are STUPID and will never figure it out.

Here we go again with another event planned "coincidentally" with another historical occurrence in our nation's history. As if we need Beck and Palin to help us reflect on the tragic events of that day... Give me a break!!!

In what way was the Washington rally "wildly successful?" After an unprecedented publicity campaign spearheaded by a news (????) network, about 100,000 people show up – a pretty small number by Washington rally standards. Why hype something that was a tempest in a teapot?

So in other words, if you do not attend, you are not a "patriot," or so says the person who uses the American flag as a fashion prop.

I think I need to know what the criteria is for the author stating that the rally on the national mall was ‘wildly successful’. I guess all major sporting events and rock concerts are also ‘wildly successful’.

I just love this quote from Palin – “We can count on Glenn to make the night interesting and inspiring…” I think what can be counted on is that Palin and Beck will always find a way to make money off the misfortune of others.

That is not that much to charge for a ticket you idiot....just to let you know that to see many of the liberal psychos you aspire to be like it cost 2500 per ticket or plate...so why don't you stop being a biased hypocritical jerk. And if you feel the need to dig up dirt on the conservative, why don't you dig up dirt on your own junkies.

Sorry, but politicos in the US - least of all conservatives - don't "by coincidence" schedule events on the anniversary of 9/11. And if anybody buys that, I've got a bridge to sell you.

    Other than that... (yawn).

The last one was "coincidentally" on the anniversary of Dr. Martin L. King's "I have a dream speech" and at the exact same location King gave his speech.. and now this one just happens to fall on 9/11? Hmmmm, coincidence or carefully orchestrated for maximum media coverage and buzz????

How are all of Beck's dates "purely coincidental "? September 11th is a solemn day and not one to make a profit on. If it is for the people who will "never forget"..........then no charge. They are both getting very greedy in my opinion.

Didnt they say that Beck's speech, given on the anniversary of MLK's I've got a Dream speech, was coincidental?

    I think not!

"After a wildly successful rally on the National Mall", and Corproate News Network (CNN) shows it's ugly biased for the GOP/teabagger agenda.

Well did Beck at least find his honor?
    No, he definately did not.

But go ahead – please explain what was "wildly successful" about the "Beck trying to find his honor" rally? Because he had another stage to display his bigotry and deceptive theater to an actual live mob of engraged, terrified, un-informed mostly old white people? Or that he got them to leave their what has become typical signs of hate – was that the success?

Maybe he deserves a medal or something – an Iron Cross sounds about right.
