Palin, Beck team up on 9/11 event

Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck will appear together at an event in Alaska on September 11.
Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck will appear together at an event in Alaska on September 11.

(CNN) - After a wildly successful rally on the National Mall, Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck are teaming up again - but this time for a cost.

The two conservative rock-stars are set to appear together in Alaska on the ninth anniversary of the September 11 attacks in an event that costs a minimum of $65 to attend.

"We can count on Glenn to make the night interesting and inspiring, and I can think of no better way to commemorate 9/11 than to gather with patriots who will 'never forget,'" said Palin on her Facebook page earlier this week. "Hope to see you there!"

But in sharp contrast to the free event in Washington last month, tickets to this latest Palin-Beck affair run as high as $225 – a price tag that some Democrats are making hay about given the somber timing of the event.

But Christopher Cox, the Anchorage-based promoter of the event, told the Anchorage Daily News the date is purely coincidental and was originally scheduled for a week earlier.

Still, Cox said he understands the significance of the timing.

"You know what, it's a great date for me, for America, for Alaska," he said.

A Beck spokesperson says Sarah Palin is not receiving an appearance fee, and Beck is donating his to charity.

"Glenn had always intended to donate the speaking fee from the event on Saturday, September 11th in Alaska to Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Governor Palin is not and was never going to receive a fee for introducing Glenn at this event," a spokesperson for Glenn Beck told CNN.

Event organizers say the 4,000 seat venue is nearly sold out.

They really are disgusting human beings trying to turn a profit off of the tragedies of 9/11.

"The date was coincidental..." Are you kidding me? Did they forget what the day means? As I have said before, these two are merely a couple of bookends holding up each others stock portfolio. Ms. Palin has a lot of nerve returning to the State she swore an oath to (on a Bible) in order that she might go seek her fortunes. The fact that she is padding her nest egg on this somber day is appauling. As a first responder who will be on duty that day, as I have done for 29 years, I will be saying prayers in between fire and EMS calls for all of those who went before us on that fateful day.

Does anyone associated with Glenn actually own a calendar ? There seems to be some serious confusion about specific dates and thier places in history......

Christopher Cox is a liar. The date was Sept 11 from the start. Intentionally got that date to get Sister Sarahs "patriots" good & riled up.

The event is not sold out. That should tell you everything you need to know about how many "patriots" are willing to spend to see the live version of Dumb & Dumber............

Another date that is "purely coincidental." These assclowns just don't know when to quit. Please give us a Palin/Beck ticket in 2012. Please. It would make life soooo much easier.

Hey these two circus acts have to make money somehow too. Both are on a downward spiral toward non-event status...

Charge your suckers...I mean fans while you can.

And so where is the money going? Into their own pockets or toward the families of the victims of 9/11?

Wow! She doesn't miss a beat. Who can not want to honor those who lost their lives during 9/11. It was a true tragedy and we should not forget, just as we shouldn't forget all those that lost their lives in Korea, Viet Nam, WWII, and beyond. Civilians and our brave soldiers. Yes – Sarah, there was Pearl Harbor too.

I am afraid that her efforts stink of being opportunist – like many right wingers she implies that she is a Patriot and, well, ya know – those darn Dems just don't bleed like we do. Ugh! I am sure she has a bumper sticker that says "I am not better than you – just saved" and a peel off magnetic strip that says "I Support our Troops". Way to go Sarah – I know I am piling on but she has brought this on herself pretending to be an informed politician – but who leaves office two years early to make some quick $. She belongs on Dancing with the Stars...oh yea – that is her daughter.

Gracious, Half-Term Palin is a joke. Why she's still getting any kind of press is beyond me. If GOPers want to get behind a strong female candidate, then do so with Texas's Kay Bailey Hutchison - and this is coming from a Democrat!

$arah Palin is all about the dough, and the spotlight. I didn't realize it costs money to mourn the lives of those lost during 9/11. Goes to show that she only cares about money, money, money. She's a greedy wench with one big fat head, without a brain. Maybe for Christmas this year, she can ask Oz for a brain.

Smart people will attend free events around the country in remembrance of 9/11.

What a pair! Another overtly commercialized political ploy by FOX/GOP heads. They cheapened civil rights and MLK, and now it's time to move on to demean 9/11.

Another travesty - Beck + Palin!

I think it is very important to find out who gets the money from this event. If Beck and Palin are being paid, then how much? And what a jerk the promoter is for saying that 9/11 is a "great date for me, for America, for Alaska. " Is he as crazy as the two speakers?

  20. Hunter of the Lib Hunter hunter that hunted the hunter....

Palin and Beck team up to stuff one down the pie hole of Slick Willie Clinton. How dare he speak of amnesia, people are so uninformed when it comes to the direct damage that the Clinton's did to our Nation over their past years of raking in the dough in DC. Deregulation of banking and finance under Bill Clinton, Selling of American computer technologies to the Chinese that advanced them twenty years in the competitive global markets, Fannie and Freddie mortgage derivatives, NAFTA, China trade, and the list goes on and on. They are all evil progressive liberals set on taking down American citizen's civil liberties because "they know what is best for you", and the idiot sheeple continue to follow...you might be a libtard if: you put a spay and neuter your pet sticker on your car, get a tattoo on the side of your neck, text a lot while driving, wear a toe and/or thumb ring and finally, fart and it smells of Tofu.

How can it be a coincidence when she clearly states "We can count on Glenn to make the night interesting and inspiring, and I can think of no better way to commemorate 9/11 than to gather with patriots who will 'never forget,'"
As a fire fighter I find this less than genuious. They are not remembering the victims but taking the opportunity to make money. They should donate the money to the families!

"A great date"? Are you kidding me? Wow, way to support the cause of the fools that flew airplanes into buildings, moron!
Oh, and it was purely coincidence that they picked this date for their little Klan rally? Right, sure it was.
Thanks for embarassing us Alaskans Sarah, AGAIN!!!!

  25. Really???

I would hope that they are donating the funds raised somehow to the families of the 9/11 tragedy and not planning to profit personally off of this event. Somehow I think I know better.....
