Palin, Beck team up on 9/11 event

Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck will appear together at an event in Alaska on September 11.
Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck will appear together at an event in Alaska on September 11.

(CNN) - After a wildly successful rally on the National Mall, Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck are teaming up again - but this time for a cost.

The two conservative rock-stars are set to appear together in Alaska on the ninth anniversary of the September 11 attacks in an event that costs a minimum of $65 to attend.

"We can count on Glenn to make the night interesting and inspiring, and I can think of no better way to commemorate 9/11 than to gather with patriots who will 'never forget,'" said Palin on her Facebook page earlier this week. "Hope to see you there!"

But in sharp contrast to the free event in Washington last month, tickets to this latest Palin-Beck affair run as high as $225 – a price tag that some Democrats are making hay about given the somber timing of the event.

But Christopher Cox, the Anchorage-based promoter of the event, told the Anchorage Daily News the date is purely coincidental and was originally scheduled for a week earlier.

Still, Cox said he understands the significance of the timing.

"You know what, it's a great date for me, for America, for Alaska," he said.

A Beck spokesperson says Sarah Palin is not receiving an appearance fee, and Beck is donating his to charity.

"Glenn had always intended to donate the speaking fee from the event on Saturday, September 11th in Alaska to Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Governor Palin is not and was never going to receive a fee for introducing Glenn at this event," a spokesperson for Glenn Beck told CNN.

Event organizers say the 4,000 seat venue is nearly sold out.

How can the date that they will "never forget" be purely coincidental?

Nowhere does it say who is getting the money. Beck and Palin, I'm guessing. Nice way to cash in on 9/11.

I wouldn't sit and listen to Sarah Palin blather on incoherently, even if she paid ME the $65.

And the cuckoo brigade has a northerhmost clan meeting .I can't think of two people more delusional, obtuse, and whacked out of their minds than Palin and Beck. Well, scratch that....there's Limbaugh, Brewer, Ann Coultergeist, Hannity, Malkin, Billo the clown, Boehner, Angle and a few more loons that make the list of people who will sink this country to the lowest point in it's short history. When you think of Beck, Palin, and the rest of the whack pack, think of pre-WW2 nazi germany and the rise of Adolph Hitler. Amazing how similar the situation is. They have no answers, no strategy, and a socially regressive mindset but Americans are so beaten down by 8 years of Alfred E. Neuman, er, I mean Georgie Bush, the monkey boy, they'll believe anything you tell them at this point. To think that these super right religious zealot whack pack morons are against things like stem cell research, high speed rail, universal healthcare, social security, education, and environmental protection.....it's downright scary how ignorant and misguided the right wing has become. I have to ask one simple question on the God thing.....if there was an all powerful, all knowing being out there, wouldn't he/she never have allowed all this to happen? Or is that where your faith comes in, which is analogous to " I don't have an answer for that so I'll make up some blanket bs excuse that covers all the pertinent questions about a make believe being called god.". Another thing, remember back to the silly and laughable indoctrination claims about Obama. Isn't organized religion the biggest form of indoctrination on the planet ? It's brainwashing at an early age, right ? Let's face, whack packers, god is a made up being and if it's existence was real, we'd have a sense of it at birth without ever having to learn about it. Just like breathing, thirst, the need for food, and all the other basic instincts that living things have, these are things we're born with...and god isn't one of them.

Right, the date was coincidental...just like Beck's rally on the mall was not coincidental to MLK "I have a Dream" speech. Do they think we are morons? Never mind, the people who believe in what Beck says are morons so they wouldn't know the difference.

What an outrage to use this date to raise funds for partisan purposes. It seems that Beck needs to get his memory in order. First he just accidentally schedules an event at the Lincoln Memorial on the anniversary of MLK's "I have a dream" speech. It was coincidental. Give him that one if you will but who doesn't know the date 9/11?

If the date was purely coincidental then why did she write "I can think of no better way to commemorate 9/11" than by making a boat load of money? Really this should be no surpirse. Is ANY pundit OR politician solely concerned about politics and the good of the people and not about making money? Yeah right. Yeah right.

"You know what, it's a great date for me, for America, for Alaska," he said."

Wow, pretty much says it all for the likes of Beck and Pallin and this yutz.

So according to them, the day so many civilians died is a GREAT day for them.

Then these 3 must absolutely love any day that US soldiers are killed.

Now do you mouth breathing Glen Beck supporters SEE what he actually supports? HE supports the deaths of Americans and he THINKS it is a GREAT day when so many did.

    Sick, Sick, Sick

What is this, a memorial service or a banquet? They should be ashamed of themselves trying to cash in on this. But then again, it IS Beck and Palin we're talking about, so not a big surprise.

It was coincidence that Becks rally on the national mall fell on the anaversary of MLKs "I Have a Dream" speech... it's a coincidence that this falls on 9/11 as well...
"Really, we didn't realize that September 11th was 9/11, honest. we wanted to have it on 9/4 but for some reason those numbers didn't roll off the tongue the same as 9/11"
