Palin, Beck team up on 9/11 event

Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck will appear together at an event in Alaska on September 11.
Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck will appear together at an event in Alaska on September 11.

(CNN) - After a wildly successful rally on the National Mall, Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck are teaming up again - but this time for a cost.

The two conservative rock-stars are set to appear together in Alaska on the ninth anniversary of the September 11 attacks in an event that costs a minimum of $65 to attend.

"We can count on Glenn to make the night interesting and inspiring, and I can think of no better way to commemorate 9/11 than to gather with patriots who will 'never forget,'" said Palin on her Facebook page earlier this week. "Hope to see you there!"

But in sharp contrast to the free event in Washington last month, tickets to this latest Palin-Beck affair run as high as $225 – a price tag that some Democrats are making hay about given the somber timing of the event.

But Christopher Cox, the Anchorage-based promoter of the event, told the Anchorage Daily News the date is purely coincidental and was originally scheduled for a week earlier.

Still, Cox said he understands the significance of the timing.

"You know what, it's a great date for me, for America, for Alaska," he said.

A Beck spokesperson says Sarah Palin is not receiving an appearance fee, and Beck is donating his to charity.

"Glenn had always intended to donate the speaking fee from the event on Saturday, September 11th in Alaska to Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Governor Palin is not and was never going to receive a fee for introducing Glenn at this event," a spokesperson for Glenn Beck told CNN.

Event organizers say the 4,000 seat venue is nearly sold out.

Now this is quite a pair! Love the slogans I've seen for them: "Lipstick & Dipstick", "Taking America Back to the Dark Ages"; "God, Guns and Ignorance" to name a few. One has to laugh over these flaming wingnuts.

For those who havn't been and or continue to drink the koolade these two have been passing out for the last year, know its not about bringing the country together or positive ideas, its all about the money. Koolade drinkers need to wakeup, take off the blinders because you are being led off a cliff.

I can think of a million more patriotic ways to spend 9/11 than dinner with these liars.

"The date is purely coincidental"........right. $65 a head, top price of $225k to exploit one of the worst days in American history.

Is it safe to have that much 'crazy' all in one room?

So when do we find out old Sarah is going to dump her Hubby and hook up with St. Beck. What is wrong with our country that these two can gain such notoriety and / or influence.

Making a profit on the events of 9/11? How patriotic. If God loves them so much, He can take them.

    Please.

Big surprise! Republican oportunism. Politics is a business for these people. It's about promoting fear among voters so that they can continue to have power and money. They do it so well people don't even care about their brazeness.

Coincidental? What planet do you think we're from? Like you forgot about it or something? That's all you talk about lately. Dirtbags.

Poor Sarah. She looks as uncomfortable in that picture as she did during that sappy, interview that Glen did with her.

"This weirdo keeps talking about me being in his dreams. Can someone please get his hand off of my rump during this pic?"

I wish i did not live so far away, would love to attend. Meanwhile back at the ranch I have not one word from Musilm or goverment leaders denouncing the American flag buring and destruction of over two hundred churches by main stream islam followers. remember folks the man has not even struck a match and the leaders rush to defend islam in a country that is eighty percent christian.

"Purely coincidental" that this event is being held on 9/11. Yeah, right! These two self-promoting clowns will do anythng to pad their bank accounts.

Considering that is was as early as 2002 that the GOP was using 9/11/01 to campaign on (anyone remember the laptop with the Powerpoint presentation?), I'm not suprised.

I know legally, it's probably impossible to make them reveal the benefactor of the donations, but I would think that two members of the media who have made part of their living on calling out actions by their political opponents that may be crooked, would be transparent.

    I guess time will tell.

My head is "turning" too. In fact, it is spinning over the attention they
get from CNN Schiticker. What have these two done for anybody,
anywhere for any reason other than self-promotion. They are fast
becoming more disgusting than the White House crashers. Did they
hold any fundraisers for the people of Katrina or Haiti? Have they
walked the walk for breast cancer research? Will they participate in
the up-coming Cancer benefit? If they had, we would surely have
heard these braggards talk about it. They are useless, money
grubbing, nonsensical trouble makers, and, once again, I am sick of
them, and of your constant cramming them down out throats. No
doubt this will not make the "list" of comments, but I will never again
respect you or your "reporting", but I will continue to tell how
you how disappointed I am in your fall from grace.

It's a wonder Mr. Beck makes it to any of his events since he apparently has never seen a calendar. He had no idea 8/28 at the Lincoln Memorial meant something - and now he and Ms. Palin are starring in a pay-to-attend 9/11 event that coincidentally just happens to fall on 9/11. Geez Louise!

This date is a "coincidence" ... just like the last beck rally "just happened" on the same day MLK spoke there. Ha ha ha!

The man tells lots of little lies ... Beck said, "I went to the National Archives and held the First Inaugural Address written in his own hand by George Washington." Turns out the Archives' policy doesn't allow members of the public to touch rare documents like the First Inaugural Address.

Ya betcha Beck (worth $32 million) and Palin are being paid! If they weren't ... they would be bragging, loudly, at how patriotic and generous with their time they are ... more lies & deception ...

What does anyone expect from 2 people who only care for the Rich and Famous. Neither Beck or Palin give a da**n about anything but getting richer and more famous. The people who can't afford this shindig are dirt under their feet.
