Obama: Republicans decided to 'sit on the sidelines'

Washington (CNN) – President Barack Obama said Friday that one of the reasons he hasn't created a greater spirit of cooperation in Washington is because some GOP leaders decided when he took office that "we're going to sit on the sidelines and let the Democrats solve" the economic crisis.

Taking on tough issues with entrenched special interests creates "a lot of big fights," he said.

Hey chumbucket – nice rewrit on history. What color is the sky in your world. The republicans did nothing and for reason. To worsen the economy so they can get the majority. Oh wait now I remember. They did have ideas. Keep Bush's tax cut so we don't burden the top 2% of the country because the] are big campaign contributers. They offered lie after lie on the health care (can you say death squads) and they wanted to keep it the same as it's been-never mind that insurance companies can drop you when ever or people lose their house because they can't pay the extreme bills they recieve. And they didn't want any regulation on the oil industry or wall street. Again these two plus the health insurance are big contributors. I'm still sticking with offering nothing! What scum!!!

For those republican supporters who "just can't wait until November", don't forget that in 1994 it had been 43 years since the GOP was in the majority and most voters had no idea how they would govern. It has only been 2 years since the GOP lost their majority and, yes, we certainly do remember how they governed and we want no more of it. Our memory may be short but not that short.

How can anyone take this man seriously? The Democrats have had the majority in both halves of Congress since he's entered the White House. "Bipartisanship" is a two-way street. If you aren't going to work with and accept input from the minority party, then they have no reason to assist with the majority.

When the Republicans retake the House (and possibly the Senate), is he going to chastise the Democrat minority for not falling in line with the majority? I highly doubt it.

The president is working hard everyday to get the country out of the mess left from years of neglect, and the past eight years of do nothing policies but 2 wars. Why didn't the former president and administration tackled the declining economy, health care, drugs/crime, immigration, tax cuts for the wealthy, education, energy crisis, financial reform, equal pay for women, terrorists, 911 happen on their watch and the former president promised to go from cave to cave to get Bin Laden, and McCain was going to the gates of hell to get him, never happen. Now, this president is expected to solve every problem left behind the moment he took office with a do nothing just say no GOP. What an 18 month horror story. Pray that the hardest working president serves for 4 years and get out of there safe in one piece, the job is not all that, then try to duplicate his ideas or copy his fast pace style for credit. Something the others never had to do for the record.

  5. 8 Years of "Trickle Down" Economics has only left a dribbling wet spot on working America's shoes!

The shrub and he dick brought this great country to the edge of a depression and if they had won would have allowed the finacial sector to collapse.

What SENIOR senator from AZ soiled his Depends on the Senate floor proclaiming he would not work with President Obama for the next 2 years.(the hidden clue is SENIOR as in senile)?

Which party of NO has stated from the beginning of President Obama's term they want him to "fail" and therefore America to fail.
And before you claim you did not want America to fail, riddle me this bat brains, when was the last time a football team won when the quarter back "failed"?

Which party of NO voted down the unemployment benefits because they wanted it to come out of the few remaining original stimulus funds?

Which party of hypocrites screams about job creation and then votes against everything that the Dems offer to create those jobs, just so they can keep screaming about no jobs?

Which party of NO voted against small business loans and have left for vacation and will not address it until sometime in September?

Unemployed voters and their family members, frown on Congressional leaders that are willing to take food out of the mouths of their children, just to keep to the con party agenda to see President Obama and therefore. America to "fail".

So, just as the Orange Oracle stated in his prepared statement, there was a "full throated political attack" but the attack has been perpetrated by the neo-cons on the working class of America!

The Democrats got us into this mess, but they can't find their way out of a paper bag to clean it up. Vote 'em in. Vote "em out.

Yes – they actually SAT on the sideline for two years –

NOW, they are still on the sideline with the SAME message from the last two years –

AND, they will remain on the sideline after November when the Democrats KEEP the HOUSE and the SENATE and continue to bring America back to where it used to be when EVERYONE was prosperous – NOT just the RICH!!

Americans get TIRED of the SIDE-LINERS who NEVER get into the game!!

DEMOCRATS – State your CASE – UNITE the BASE and WIN this RACE in November 2010 – YES WE CAN!!!

Will the country unite on 9-11-10 for one day and blog and comment on solutions, problem solving ideas and peace throughout the world, is that so hard. Tell the reverend to put down his matches and do something good and shut out the terrorists, racists, haters, bigots, and all others. Help the families in Pakistan, Haiti and all who are suffering from job loss, losing homes, help our families in America survive. If you are filthy rich do what Will-i-am and pay famiies' mortgage and a student in need, school tuitionm feed the poor. Let us pray.

They are saying no a lot because we the people ask them to. Just because this President thinks he knows what is best and goes against the majority of the US time and time again does not make it right.

WE THE PEOPLE!!! The Government works for us not the other way around.

So many of you have become lapdogs to the hand that gives you hand out after hand out. Break free be your own person...

It looks like the lying teatards and GOBPbaggers have very short memories, or perhaps they're just hypocrites. The Dems not only invited input from the right, they also incorporated some of their ideas in the stimulus and health care bills. Did the GOBP give the Dems any credit? Of course not, they voted no anyway. What a bunch of whiners.

And, BTW, anyone who thinks a centrist like Obama is a "socialist" really needs to get an education and/or a psych eval, because you're either stupid or your nuts. Possibly both.
