Schwarzenegger joke mocks Palin

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger took a swipe at former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Friday.

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger took a swipe at former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Friday.

(CNN) – California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger took a shot at former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Friday, writing that he was "looking everywhere but can't see Russia from here" as his plane flew over Alaska.

The joke is an apparent reference to Palin's now infamous – and often misquoted – answer to a foreign policy question during an interview in the run-up to the 2008 presidential election.

"Over Anchorage, AK. Looking everywhere but can't see Russia from here. Will keep you updated as search continues," Schwarzenegger joked, posting a photo along with his Twitter message.

Schwarzenegger's flight was destined for Asia, where the California governor is on a trip designed to increase trade.

Actress Tina Fey and Saturday Night Live popularized the joke through its parody of Palin, in which Fey delivered the line: "I can see Russia from my house!"

But that's not what Palin really said. The full quote came in an interview with ABC's Charlie Gibson in reaction to a question about U.S. policy toward Russia.

"They're our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska," Palin said.

Obama proudly claims he has been to all "57 states", he says the "country of europe needs our help" and he sounds like a drunken stuttering sailor ANYTIME his beloved telemprompter fails, but somehow the "I can see russia from my house" tina fey line is the "gaffe" believed to have actually been said by Palin. And Biden is in a whole different level all by himself. He is quite possibly the dumbest person to ever occupy such a high office in all of America, but thanks to a media that is completely in the tank for obama et al, most Americans know nothing of his ridiculous comments.

It still amazes me how so many people are behind Sarah Palin and the Tea Party when all they do is try to sell the world that the "average" Joe/Jane is a Gun Totin, Bible Thumping, Backwoods. Ignorant Redneck...

That isn't who the American people are but that is who they try to paint us to be...

She and the Tea Party are trying to convince the world that we are dumb uneducated people who need someone like her to represent our interests, yet the only way she will let you hear her speak is if you pay...

So, the odds are the people that can afford to pay $500 and up to get in are hearing what "they" want to hear or they wouldn't pay for it, so they are pandering to the richer people, plain and simple...

Same old politics as usual, just calling it something different to try to fool the people, and the saddest part is that by their following, they seem to have accomplished that goal...

It is a FACT, that less than 90 days after the Tea Party started they changed from a NON-Profit to a FOR-Profit and that is when the Sarah Palin's got on board... since then it has been all about the money... All you have to do is open your eyes and look at the facts and see what is really going on, instead of being a dumb hick and following blindly...

Civics lesson for non-left coasters. The reason California's budget is in the tubes is because of all the goof-ball voter initiatives that they pass every regular and special election. These initiatives say how the state is supposed to spend the money on specific programs or what taxes will be cut, but they never say where the money will come from to fund these things.
Alaska's budget is in the black thanks to the work of folks like Senator Murkowski and her father! Now Alaska wants to backstab the best "bring home the bacon" person they will have in the next few decades. Let's see how little the newest congressmen and senators from Alaska bring home, and see how much Alaska has to beg BP, EXXON-Mobil and Phillips/ARCO for more pipeline revenues to keep their budgets balanced and to keep paying those Alaskans the money they get just for living there. Hey, Sarah, if you are opposed to welfare how come you never did away with that gimme program?

To those bashing Arnold for "wrecking CA"

Didn't you chuckeheads vote him in with over 70% of the vote? And you are now shocked he couldn't wave a magic wand and fix everything??

Yet somehow the GOP lovers think voting the Republicans back into office in 2010 will fix the very thing they destroyed from 2001 through 2006 when they controlled everything?

    Good one.

Let's all give a round of applause to John McCain for bringing Sarah Palin out of the double wide park in Wasilla AK to all of America. For his next trick, can he get Pandora back into her box as her 15 minutes of fame has lasted over two years now.

Ms. Palin is in no way Presidential material, I find her to show a huge lack of intelligence when she opens her mouth. And the Cali Governor walked into a huge mess, and Enron can be thanked for much of what California faced in energy issues and costs of living for Cali. I'm not saying I agree with his politics per se, but challenges are real.

Palin didn`t help sink the Repubs, --Bush/Cheney administration and Congress drove our economy into the ground. They "gutted" the middle class and are now "sitting" on their misbegotten fortunes just like they did during the Great Depression.

    Way to go , Gov.Swarzenegger!
How can one NOT make fun of this woman. She is truly a stupid lady.
I have to give her some credit. Her evil and narcissistic instincts have emboldened her in such a way that she actually has the confidence to keep spewing forth inane statements and believe in them at the same time, along with her paranoid, gun toting self righteous followers.
A dumbed down version of Hitler.

They should make a movie showing Sarah Palin's, George Bush's and Jan Brewer's best dumb interviews/moments.....this movie would not need to be edited and would a hit as comedy...this is not about being a Republican or a Democrat, this is just about these 3 people being plain out incompetent

She stepped down because it was BETTER for her state. Have you ever heard of lame duck gov? She decided she's not going to seek a second term, so she let someone else take the reins so the gov would not be bogged down by politics. Clear? It also opened her up for 2012 baby.

Maybe obama should take her up on a lesson..
