Palin, Schwarzenegger in tweet tiff

Sarah Palin hit back at Arnold Schwarzenegger Friday on her Twitter page.
Sarah Palin hit back at Arnold Schwarzenegger Friday on her Twitter page.

(CNN) – Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin shot back at California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Friday, after the former movie star poked fun at the former vice presidential nominee on his Twitter account.

As Schwarzenegger flew over the 50th state on his way to Asia for a six-day trade mission, he posted a photo of himself looking out a plane window at an Alaskan mountaintop. Alongside the picture, the governor wrote that he was "looking everywhere but can't see Russia from here."

The joke was a reference to Palin's now infamous – and often misquoted – answer to a foreign policy question during an interview in the run-up to the 2008 presidential election. Many Americans believe Palin once said "I can see Russia from my house," when in reality, the line was uttered by Tina Fey in a Saturday Night Live sketch.

On Friday afternoon, Palin hit back at Schwarzenegger and took aim the economic distress plaguing his state.

"Arnold should have landed," Palin tweeted. "I could have explained our multi-billion dollar state surplus & US energy security efforts. What's he been up to?"

Schwarzenegger's state has been drowning in debt and budget deficits for years. Alaska has a relatively healthy economy that is heavily reliant upon oil revenue and received federal stimulus dollars.

Sure, when you live in the Federal Welfare state of Alaska, the biggest moneygrabber state in the Union. Also, Arnold didn't quit when things got rough like Sarah the hag.

LOL – Palin has to be the thinnest skinned politician in modern history!! She sooo easily rises to the bait.

There is no way I will ever think that she is really running for president – her twitter account would melt down :D

Palin should keep her mouth shut. The day an empty-headed animal food trough wiper like her is in a position to lecture Arnold about anything will be the day they're debating whether Palin or Pelosi is the bigger clothing horse.

Maybe she should have completed her term as governor so that she could really take credit for their surplus. OR did her ethics complaints get the better of her. IDIOT!!

  9. If Alaska is so great why quit and leave?

I know: Because angry intolerant money hungry quitters, will take any chance to prostitute themselves and there families for a buck. Don't hear Hockey Mom Sarah talk too much about the people back in Alaska. Her next $150,000.00 wardrobe must be on her mind. Right Vicki hollywood.

When Palin's job got tough, she cut and ran. From her job, from the republican party, and above all .

What's this "our" Sarah refers to...as if she's an Alaskan now? She's too busy self-promoting all over America to claim any credit for ANYTHING now. How quickly America seems to have forgotten that she couldn't even handle more than two years as governor.

Did any one explain to that dope that the reason Alaska has such a surplus is because of the oil and gas. That and the fact that very few people live there.

Yes – she who quit her job because it was too much for her or beneath her – could have explained a few things – like how to kill animals from a helicopter, drill, baby, drill, and so much more.

I guess she forgot that most of Alaskan oil goes to Japan and that for every dollar that Alaskans send to the Federal Government they receive six in return. If California got that much we could buy Alaska!

This woman can't take a joke. She always got to have the last word. If she really wants to have the last word I will say good bye and she can respond, "GOOD BYE" and I will let it go at that.

  20. Got a laugh?

Geez, can the woman take a joke?

I am not a fan of the financial mess in CA, but you have to say, comparing CA to AK is like comparing your 401K strategy to your kid's lunch money management skills. I mean, something like half of Alaska is a national park, isn't it?

  21. What You Are Seeing Is Spot-On Journalism At It's Best . . .

CNN reports this morning on a failed governor attacking another failed governor and now this afternoon CNN reports on the second failed governor attacking the first failed governor for attacking her.

Who cares about the nutty pastor or the Not-A-Mosque Two Blocks from Ground Zero, or the collapse of our infrastructure or unemployment and the jobs bill or even that crazy from Delaware who's going to beat Castle for the TeaLoon Party nomination for US Senate.

Nah, the REAL story is infighting between two losers. Way to go CNN, thanks for keeping us informed.

Alaska is the 49th state admitted to the union. Presumably that was CNN's mistake, and not an incredibly misplaced sense of geography by the passenger(s) ...

Can this leech of a woman be anymore of a joke? Seriously, she wants to take credit for someone else's doing?

I mean, why is she touting alaska's surplus when she deserted her job in the middle of her tenure. Did she make the state surplus possible?

I swear the calibre of people that listen to this hypocrite of a woman are patheric, period.
