(CNN) – If you are a friend of Don Unsworth, a Georgia businessman who recently passed away, don't send flowers to the family. Just vote against President Obama in 2012.

That was the message conveyed in Unsworth's obituary, according to CNN affiliate station WIS.

"In lieu of flowers the family respectfully asks that donations be sent to the American Cancer Society, or to the campaign of anybody who is running against President Barack Obama in 2012," said the obituary, which ran in the local newspaper.

Donna Barnes said Unsworth was "not really a big Obama fan," taking issue with the stimulus bill and high unemployment rate.

"We just felt like it was the best tribute we could give to him," said Barnes.

A similar plea appeared in the obituary pages of the Las Vegas Review-Journal in July, only the family of Charlotte McCourt asked readers not to vote for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

What a sad life to be around so much hate for a person you don't even know. To think, this guys meets his maker and all people have to say about him is that he would like for everyone to vote against President Obama. What a contribution to this world, your kids should be proud of you. For myself, I choose to live my life with one goal in mind, to be a good person, a good father and a good husband. I didn't let Bush jeapordize that in the 8 years he screwed over our beautiful nation and wouldn't let anyone else do it in the future.

This is beyond Politics, this is the most unpatriotic act by the "so-called" fellow Americans against their President. Shame unto all haters.

CNN, you've sunk to a new low.

Now, If I, as a random man in this country said, "I tossed a penny in the wishing well, and I wished that no one would vote for Republicans in November", then should your next Ticker headline read, "Atlanta Man's wish; NO GOP"?

I don't see why not. It makes just as much sense as this well wrought (skillfully crafted in bias) headline.

This is pretty low down to do. Wonder if think the gates of heaven will be open to them. When they get there the gate should slam shut right in front of them. Then the only way they can go is down and they deserve it.

When will people realize/acknowledge that the unemployment situation is a direct result of the previous administration 8-10 yrs of bowing to Big Business and the Rich and it is not going to go away in 18-20 months!!!

Especially when you have the GOP fighting for their POLITICAL AGENDA instead of what is best of our country/american workers right from the start of the Obama administration (OH WAIT!! That started before Obama took office with McConnell telling his party Members to vote "NO" on everything and/or delay everything put forward by the Dems....) OH YEA...that's real helpful for our country when it is in a full recession heading for a depression.

Makes me sick...how the GOP and Media are manipulating the masses(sheep) that obviously have short term memory loss.

  16. 30-YR ARMY VETERAN FOR THE TRUTH!

I agree with both families at their time of grief. I also feel the same way. To you Obamanites who hollor Racist at the drop of a breath the etnic group Obama belongs in has nothing to do with the way I feel. Look at the issues. You people keep saying OH look at what our great President has done for us. Stop and do some research. What has he done for you. You say health insurance. This is a cop out. and only will benefit the ones that the government will qualify as being put on the welfare list. Who will pay their dues. The working middle cals and those making over $250,00 dollars. Is this fair. You say yes because we don't intend to do anything but set on our porch and drink wine as long as our government will pay our way for us. Hopefully Obama will give us some more money in a stimulus plan. But I don't want it to interfere with my welfare check. The illegals will keep praising him for this is why thay came to the U.S. Somebody else will pay for their schooling, clothe them, put them on two free meals, a backpack filled with food for their family a day and none will pay income tax because they are not immirgrants they are gangsters who are here illegally stealing from the middle class and the wealthy. If you can't work to help yourself then you are one more sorry individual. OH YEAH BUSH CAUSED ALL THIS. IT COULDN'T HAVE BEEN BILL CLINTON WHO OPENED UP THE BORDERS COULD IT? NOW OBAMA INTENDS TO GIVE ALL THESE PEPLE FREE CITIZENSHIP. BUT HE DOESN'T UNDERST THEY DON'T WANT IT. BECAUSE IT WILL MEAN TAXES, HEALTH INSURANCE AND THE TAKING AWAY OF THEIR WELFARE CHECKS. OH THEY HADN'T THOUGHT ABOUT THAT. WELL CRAP ON OBAMA.

Interesting – the stimulus bill and high unemployment were both legacies of the Bush administration. I'm sure GOP'rs are sick of this being pointed out, and we sure as heck are sick of living with it. Sad the man died though, however misguided.

While I sympathize with this gentleman's sentiments, I think that his family should have observed, for Mr. Unworth's sake, the Precept "Judge not that ye be not judged." Let us hope also, that the heavenly powers that be do not render judgment based on names, Mr. Un-worth.
