(CNN) – If you are a friend of Don Unsworth, a Georgia businessman who recently passed away, don't send flowers to the family. Just vote against President Obama in 2012.
That was the message conveyed in Unsworth's obituary, according to CNN affiliate station WIS.
"In lieu of flowers the family respectfully asks that donations be sent to the American Cancer Society, or to the campaign of anybody who is running against President Barack Obama in 2012," said the obituary, which ran in the local newspaper.
Donna Barnes said Unsworth was "not really a big Obama fan," taking issue with the stimulus bill and high unemployment rate.
"We just felt like it was the best tribute we could give to him," said Barnes.
A similar plea appeared in the obituary pages of the Las Vegas Review-Journal in July, only the family of Charlotte McCourt asked readers not to vote for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
People are sick!!!
Republicans certainly are a hateful bunch.
There's a time and place for everything. The dead have no voice, so let them go to their final resting place wherever that might be.
I encourage all Georgians to find where this clown is burried so we can pee on his grave. These American haters do not deserve any respect.
Yawn. This is news? People do this kind of thing all the time. I've seen obits asking for donations to various parties or candidates. CNN really does have to scrape the bottom of the can for some kind of news.
Obama is turning people in the grave.
So much anger and hatred that they even take it to their grave. How about spending end time reflecting on your own miserable life?
May you Rest in Peace, Mr Unsworth, but I doubt it ....with all that bitterness in your soul.
See ya, Don. At least we don't have to worry about your vote.
A donation to Obamas re-election fund under the name of Don Unsworth will be mailed shortly.........fight tripe with tripe
Yup, they bring their hatred to their grave. Must be so heavenly to die mad, angry and full of hate. Bon Voyage.
What a pathetic move by the family. It must be a miserable world the Unsworth faimily lives in if they feel the need to memorialize their father in that way. Yeah, great tribute to stupidity.
It is not like the President caused any of the stuff currently, happening with the economy. I mean how dumb can you get? This current American economy was bound to happen due to things set in motion with the Bush Administration hands off attitudes of banks and corporations and the global economy!! THERE ALWAYS HAVE TO BE REGULATIONS OTHERWISE YOU GET CORRUPTION!! In regards to the stimulus, how else could the man try to spur the economy? I swear people need to go take a crash course in economics.
Sad that we in this country have interjected politics into everything. Disgraceful. We need to really stop and understand what truly matters in life and it ain't politics!
Probably never got over Obama winning. May you rest in peace hopefully because you sure are not going out the right way.
I kind of feel sorry for the guy, I mean going through life and straight to death so misinformed. Well, I guess that is what listening to Rush and Glen do to vulnerable minds.
You're dead, now. You don't get a vote anymore. Jeez!
You stay classy, dead Georgia hick!
I'm sure there are better ways of honoring the dead than such foolishness.
All of this man's lifework, all of his successes, all of his children, he work, it's all summed up by a bitter request not to vote for a politician, that's just tacky and sad. I am from Georgia and I think it's a disgrace.
Stay classy, Republicans..
let me guess, the dead was not a racist?
But Don was probably fine with Bush's bailout of the banks, Bush's doubling of the debt from $5.5T to $12T before he left office, the rise in unemployment that started during Bush's watch, the way he got us into Iraq with no reason at the cost of $2T-$4T over 10-15 years, and the way we almost fell into a Global depression in 2008 (before Obama took office). Sure, Don...we'll but for your guy – looks like you did your homework. ;-)
Last time I looked it was still a free country. I think something
like vulgar sexual lyrics in the music our young people listen
to should get more press coverage than an obituary with a
