Palin talks presidential announcement

Sarah Palin discussed a potential 'big national announcement' at an event in Alaska on Saturday.
Sarah Palin discussed a potential 'big national announcement' at an event in Alaska on Saturday.

(CNN) – When Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck teamed up for a September 11 commemoration in Alaska over the weekend, the talk-radio host couldn't help but ask the former vice presidential nominee if she was going to run for president.

Palin deflected the question, according to the Anchorage Daily News, but did say where she would make her big announcement, that is, if there is a big announcement to make.

"If there is going to be some big national announcement I'm going to do it where it's most worthy. I'm going to do something big, even bigger than Glenn Beck. It's going to happen on the Bob and Mark show," she said, referencing Alaska's KWHL's talk radio show.

After the wildly successful rally on the National Mall, Palin and Beck teamed up again for the event in Alaska over the weekend – but this time for a cost.

In sharp contrast to the free event in Washington last month, tickets to this latest Palin-Beck affair ran as high as $225 – a price tag that some Democrats are making hay about given the somber timing of the event.

But a Beck spokesperson told CNN Palin did not receive an appearance fee, and Beck plans to donate his to charity.

"Glenn had always intended to donate the speaking fee from the event on Saturday, September 11th in Alaska to Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Governor Palin is not and was never going to receive a fee for introducing Glenn at this event," a spokesperson for Glenn Beck told CNN.

I've finally figured it out - Sarah Palin doesn't really care that much about America. What she does care about is making money (and she's made a ton of it since being plucked from obscurity by a temporarily demented John McCain) and media attention – lots of media attention. If you study the pattern even cursorily, you'll see that her actions are all timed to get the maximum exposure (and to boost her speaker fees). Given her rather abysmal poll ratings (even the majority of the Republicans don't think she's qualified), her insinuations about running for president can only be more manipulation of the media for her own selfish ends. She's the Brett Favre of politics.

With quality people like Palin, Beck and their followers, I am sure that over time their intelligence will shine through and they will be able to walk upright.

No appearance fee, I am sure there were plenty of "travel expenses" that needed to be covered.

IF she runs, I cannot wait to see the reaction from the supporters of "poor, picked on Sarah" when Republican candidates like Romney and Huckabee attack her just as viciously during the primaries as that mean liberal medis has.

She just doesn't get her stupidity does she? With millions of educated and intelligent women in the U.S., what gives her the idea she is superior? Five colleges in 5 yrs just to get a B.S. degree in journalism? What's alarming is the sheep in this country that would give away a precious vote to feed her lunacy.

CNN, why don't you just let Sarah Palin run the Ticker? It looks like u have a special correspondent, with a secured top spot on The Political Ticker, watching her 24/7. Last week, even her sneeze made it to the top spot on the Ticker...And this happened when troops were dying in Afghanistan. Way to go CNN! I just love you! Sorry about that.

87,000 people is "wildly successful"? What kind of media spin is this? I swear, the more I see the more convinced I am that someone is demanding that Sarah Palin be positioned as the next Republican presidential candidate, and be damned to the evidence that the voters don't think she's qualified and don't much like her.

    Disgusting.

I really hope that Sarah does run in 2012 because if she does then she is going to get her butt kicked and just maybe she will finally disappear into the sunset where she can watch Russia from her front porch!

Palin is stupid, but I don't think she's stupid enough to think she can be president at this point. She knows that enough Americans are onto her scam than she'd never manage to win the presidency... so, she's content to just exploit her foolish evangelical followers and make as much money off of them as possible. Palin is a grifter, and she'll ride her evangelical celebrity as long as she can... but I don't think she'll risk being exposed as a fraud by trying for the White House again. She's about making money, and she's doing that now... the Presidency doesn't have much to offer her that she doesn't already have with her current scam.

  11. Take America Back: from Texas

Sarah Palin cracks a joke and CNN prints it.....(of course CNN reports "every" word Sarah makes because the team of reporters assigned to do nothing but this has to earn their salaries) I do not know how many times this can be stated; if Sarah Palin is so dumb, so insignificant, so dingy......then why oh why do the Liberal Left spend so much time trying to trash her???
Truth is, who on the Left is worthy of being President???.....Obambi??? Yeah right, he has proven where he wants to take this nation and if the truth was told, even most Dems who voted for him wish they had that one back! Maybe P)elosi??? or how about Reid???? Or maybe Schumer....or Axlerod, or......hey I got it......Hillary!!!

Now all you ignorant Left Wing Liberal "Progressives" blog away!

Don't forget to turn the lights out.

If there were ever a need to define retard here are two perfect examples.
    Many more.

    The dictionary should be changed.
Retard: Verb A republican who slows up especially by preventing or hindering advance or accomplishment

This is old news. Gov. Palin was on the Bob and Mark show weeks ago joking about this. At that time they asked her if she was going to run for President. She announced then that she would make her Presidential announcement on their show.

Palin for President. The secrecy is over. It is now true. Palin all over the map, speeches everywhere. The whole Palin marketing campaign has finally revealed what we have been waiting for, her announcement to run for the presidency. Give me a break!! Send her back to Alaska or the Jerry Springer show.
