Palin talks presidential announcement

Sarah Palin discussed a potential 'big national announcement' at an event in Alaska on Saturday.

Sarah Palin discussed a potential 'big national announcement' at an event in Alaska on Saturday.

(CNN) – When Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck teamed up for a September 11 commemoration in Alaska over the weekend, the talk-radio host couldn't help but ask the former vice presidential nominee if she was going to run for president.

Palin deflected the question, according to the Anchorage Daily News, but did say where she would make her big announcement, that is, if there is a big announcement to make.

"If there is going to be some big national announcement I'm going to do it where it's most worthy. I'm going to do something big, even bigger than Glenn Beck. It's going to happen on the Bob and Mark show," she said, referencing Alaska's KWHL's talk radio show.

After the wildly successful rally on the National Mall, Palin and Beck teamed up again for the event in Alaska over the weekend – but this time for a cost.

In sharp contrast to the free event in Washington last month, tickets to this latest Palin-Beck affair ran as high as $225 – a price tag that some Democrats are making hay about given the somber timing of the event.

But a Beck spokesperson told CNN Palin did not receive an appearance fee, and Beck plans to donate his to charity.

"Glenn had always intended to donate the speaking fee from the event on Saturday, September 11th in Alaska to Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Governor Palin is not and was never going to receive a fee for introducing Glenn at this event," a spokesperson for Glenn Beck told CNN.

  1. 8 Years of having a drunken driver at the wheel put America in the ditch, why would working Americans return the keys to the crowd drinking at the same bar?

Bush/Cheney kept the war machine fed off the deaths of 4400 young Americans and now tomorrow "Elmer Gantry" Beck and the Wasilla Wonder bra, two modern day false "profits" exploited the deaths of the deaths of 3000 innocent victims, chasing their "true god" the American greenback.

Just goes to show that the agenda of the Red party is to never miss a chance to make a buck at the expense of human misery and death.

    So, very, very, Republican

Wildly successful? Less than 100,000 people attended. You can get more people to show up to an NFL Game LoL

Go ahead and announce it wherever you want but it won't make a bit of difference. There is NO WAY that the majority of sane, mentally-stable, people in this country is going to make you President. Sure, you may get a lot of votes from the uninformed, the hatemongers, and the extremists, but guess what? President Palin? It ain't gonna happen...

If it wasn't for the media, this loony tune would be home doing something constructive, well one could only hope she could at least be a good Mother, but i have my doubts there too. Interesting how there is such a fan base (even 20% is scary) for this fringe group of narrow-minded neocons with no new solutions. I'm sure they are enjoying those bucks!

    Dear CNN:

Please cease coverage on this individual unless she is employed in a capacity that directly impacts our nation's agenda . For now, all your news agency is doing is giving attention to an individual that simply spews randomness without thought.

If the reflection of a nation is represented by the people they elect or propel into the spotlight, then this nation is in serious trouble. Didn't government use to atract the best and the brightest at times?

If the Republican Party doesn't get serious they'll squander away any chance they have to elect a President. They need to find a candidate educated enough to know Africa isn't a country. They need somebody who doesn't spend their time railing at the cars on the freeway. The GOP needs a candidate who knows the Earth isn't just 5000 years old. They need a person who knows Americans come in all colors. They need a person who can consider the good of all social and economic classes – not just the wealthy. Is that too hard?

All the na├»ve Democrats who have been jeering at Sarah Palin, "oh yeah, sure, Sarah–please, please run, make my day, Ms. Stupid," now have to reconsider the foundation of their silly, giddy joy: if Palin ran against President Obama today, headlines would read, "PALIN BY LANDSLIDE," and "OBAMA LOSES!"
    You think she's stupid?
Albert Einstein would vote for Palin over Obama.

Good for Palin, but she would never get my vote. I would only vote for a cenrist republican. All of them now are running to the far right, even John McCain, who I still believe is a moderate at heart.

I can not wait for Sarah Palin to tell us all that she is running for President in 2012 ! If she thought the press was tough on her in 2008 , she may be in for a real surprise ? Here is what I want to know : [1] Will she make the announcement on FOX Network [2] Will she make the announcement on the FOX News Channel [3] Will she make the announcwement on the TONIGHT SHOW with Jay Leno [ tell a few jokes ? ] [4] Will she make the announcement from Wasilla [5] Will she make the announcement from a TEA PARTY rally [6] Will she quit the speech approximately half way because she realizes she can make more money without being President ?

Oh please run for president Sarah... it will be such a pleasure to watch you crumble when asked any question which requires an intelligent answer of any kind. Even the intelligent members of the Republican party know that it would be a disastrous move for them if you ran... please oh please...

This undirected uneducated person is the beggining of the return of a nation being stuck on stupid with blissful rude sayings to feed into the confused and shocked Americans that chose to be led blindly to the truth we now face and wants to continue to do and say none truth to get back to the same disregard for the constitution the laws and rights of it's people. This fear based movement is not new nor do they offer anything new other than a different face of indifference to get the control of the nations wealth and it's people, to empower those with money and join the elite class of the greed of the rust and dust they worship self.

    Oh terrific,

then maybe once she is President she can quit that job just like she did for the folks of Alaska and maybe be on Dances with Stars like her daughter and then maybe start her own reality TV show.

It is hard not to see the self serving in all of this. She terrifies me because her seductive appeal to the masses in not unlike what we saw sweep Europe in the 1930's and we all know how many many millions of lives were ruined for the misguided followings of those wanting to have their ears tickled.

With Palin's ego and unsurpassed desire for the spotlight would not be surprised to see her run. Can you see her in a debate with intelligent candidates? With her appearances she only allows scripted questions.
I hope she does as would divide the republicans and be a sure win for the Democrats.

Yes indeed, let these two idiots run! Let the world see just how stupid the GOP/right wing has become, and let's hope President Obama runs for reelection against these two and wins in such a landslide that the GOP is a minority for the next several decades! WOOT!
