(CNN) – He has little chance of unseating House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in her San Francisco congressional district, but Republican John Dennis knows how to make a splash.
The California businessman is out with a new Web video portraying the House Speaker as the Wicked Witch of the West in a campy takeoff of the Wizard of Oz.
The parody, released Sunday and already garnering close to 300,000 views on YouTube, includes Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion, and Dorothy expressing fright of the state of the nation and bemoaning Democratic policies.
"I will save you from those evil Republicans," a faux-Nancy Pelosi-turned-Wicked Witch of the West assures the frightened group. "But first $18,000 for my downtown office, and then go into massive debt for Wall Street bailouts, and here are my monkeys (IRS agents) to make you pay for it all."
Dennis then appears, throwing water on the Pelosi figure who promptly begins to melt.
"I believe it's time to throw a little water on politicians who do one thing and do another like Nancy Pelosi," says Dennis.
In an interview with San Francisco Weekly, Dennis is pledging more zany videos taking aim at the California Democrat, including parodies of a Few Good Men and James Bond.
Though Dennis has spent over a million dollars on the race, his chances of winning are virtually nil – in 2008, Pelosi won 71 percent of the vote and appears headed for a similarly-large victory this November.
Responding to the ad, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Spokeswoman Jennifer Crider said laughing, "A silly web video deserves a silly response: Lions, and tigers, and bears! Oh, my!”

It was funny and clever! Having met and sort of known Nancy over the years, it really does fit. She is ruthless with Democrats as she is with her enemies. Not a good person. We are paying for her children and grand children to visit from California every week it seems. Taking Air Force planes with no other passengers.

Pelosi has brought down the Democrat Party to the darkest depths in history. Massive corruption throughout the party while she turns away from the topic. We've already seen examples of her ongoing knowledge of corruption and her attempts to sweep it under the rug. Her promise to fight it, was nothing more than campaign lies.

I think there ought to be a counter democrat add on the movie the WIZARD of OZ", which show wall street as the Tin Man, the Lion as the Banking system, the scare crow as Auto companies, healthcare reform as Dorthy, the President Obama as the WIZARD of OZand repuglicans and tea neck party as the wicked witch! Now, that is a real analogy for what has really happened and the accomplishments of this administration! The repouglicans and tea neck party has been obstructionist and have attacked every position, solution and effort to turn this country from a deep depression!

What the republican nazi committee does not realize, is that our unfunded tax cuts for the wealthy, the unfunded Iraq war, the unfunded drug programs, and the unfunded Bush bank bailouts were republican programs and not a result of Nancy's leadership. Bush and republicans gave President Obama and Speaker Pelosi a $10.6 trillion debt.
GOP looking a little desperate. If thier phantom economic plan for the country is so promising, why is Newt blowing the rhetorical "dog whistle" so the racist base ofthe party know to come running? These republicans are so pathetic. All they do is run smear campaigns. Yet Mr. Dennis doesn't tell us what he will do if he were elected to Congress. I should make a web video against republicans as a whole. It will basically be a balloon deflating letting out alot of hot air.
Nancy Pelosi is a terrible politican that is in a very liberal district and no matter what she says or does there are enough people in her district that will keep her in power because they need her to promote their liberal ideas.
