Ad mocking Pelosi goes viral

Pelosi is the subject of one of this season's more zany political ads.
Pelosi is the subject of one of this season's more zany political ads.

(CNN) – He has little chance of unseating House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in her San Francisco congressional district, but Republican John Dennis knows how to make a splash.

The California businessman is out with a new Web video portraying the House Speaker as the Wicked Witch of the West in a campy takeoff of the Wizard of Oz.

The parody, released Sunday and already garnering close to 300,000 views on YouTube, includes Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion, and Dorothy expressing fright of the state of the nation and bemoaning Democratic policies.

"I will save you from those evil Republicans," a faux-Nancy Pelosi-turned-Wicked Witch of the West assures the frightened group. "But first $18,000 for my downtown office, and then go into massive debt for Wall Street bailouts, and here are my monkeys (IRS agents) to make you pay for it all."

Dennis then appears, throwing water on the Pelosi figure who promptly begins to melt.

"I believe it's time to throw a little water on politicians who do one thing and do another like Nancy Pelosi," says Dennis.

In an interview with San Francisco Weekly, Dennis is pledging more zany videos taking aim at the California Democrat, including parodies of a Few Good Men and James Bond.

Though Dennis has spent over a million dollars on the race, his chances of winning are virtually nil – in 2008, Pelosi won 71 percent of the vote and appears headed for a similarly-large victory this November.

Responding to the ad, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Spokeswoman Jennifer Crider said laughing, "A silly web video deserves a silly response: Lions, and tigers, and bears! Oh, my!”

Pelosi will be one of the first to be impeached and hung. The revenue brought in from that venue will dwarf any new tax revenue she is pondering :)

I am so tired of Repulican attacks on Nancy and her being demonized just because she is a woman.

Will somebody in the media plaes begin to call these people out for the insane, dangerous, anti-American, fear-mongering, bullying, ignoramouses that they truly are?
Political discourse in this great country must be raised to a higher level, and it is up to those in our media to set the bar a bit higher than chimpanzee!

It's not the Wall Street bailout that put America in huge debt. It was the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. People in San Francisco know the Republicans under Bush were in charge of the bailout, too. Pelosi will only get the blame from Fox-Terror-Channel-watching, misinformed Republican automitons.

FACT: The Wall Street bailouts were started under GW Bush; the global economic meltdown was brought on by his policies. He and his administration own the economic mess our country is in
(you break it = you buy it).

Regarding this ad in general: When all you have to offer is POLICIES THAT ARE PROVEN FAILURES, then this is what you get:

Juvenile ads, totally lacking in substance, designed only to fuel the fear, hate, lies and division your party has come to represent.

    The GOP is so pathetic!

Disgusting gutter politics. This is what our Country has become and it started during the election for President in 2008. John McCain are you happy with what you allowed Palin to do.

The GOP will stoop to the lowest level. Instead of facts regarding issues, they attack the person. When in trouble attack from all directions, sounds like he might be in trouble.

Nancy Pelosi does not speak for Democrats. She, rather, gives a bad
name to those of us who actually care about this country. She needs to step down from her throne and give this country back to our people. Her over-zealous liberal antics have been allowed for too long.

Nancy Pelosi deserves this ad, she earned it. The voters of San Francisco can certainly do better than "Airhead Nancy".

    Wow. How pathetic.

What ever happened to actual debates? How about facts? Am I the only one tired of being yanked around by the chain? My vote shouldn't be something that politicians try to sway through 'entertainment'. Give me truths. Argue real points. Tell me why you are the man or woman for the job. And leave it at that. If you can't win based on YOUR platform, don't bother running. Don't bother talking.

I'm way too busy working my rump off in this quasi recession to try and sift through all of the political garbage to find what is real. The politicians that pull this kind of ill-witted stunts are seriously wasting what little time I have. And I'm sure that applies for the rest of Americans who are tired as hell and can't devote 40 hours of homework per week of researching wtf is actually going on.

There's no wonder we're all exhausted, divided, grumpy, at each others throats, offended, distanced, and depressed.

TRASHY REPUBLICAN ADs, , , MEANS TRASHY REPUBLICAN LEADESRHIP IF VOTED INTO OFFICE

A number of things go into electing a "Public-Servant-Leader" to include a person's experience, ethics, and ability to respect and represent his or her constituents.

Clearly, "trashy and disrespectful" Republican John Dennis and men of his ilk will never get my vote. Not even for dog catcher!

And the problem is ...? She IS the wicked witch of the west. It would be so nice to see her district think and "melt" her on out of there instead of pulling the same lever, again.

Very mature (not) and a great example for our children! What an immature bunch of sore losers the GOP has been since the '08 election.
I left the party for just this reason; I don't identify w/this crap or the direction they are taking catering to the fringe right. Anything but GOP!

Another republican with nothing valid to offer , no reasonable ideas, that can only criticize what others are trying to do.Think about it – If you do something and it's wrong or partly wrong you can learn from it and improve. BUT, to do this takes an idea and a goal. "NO" is not an idea or a goal! Critcizing others ideas with no alternative suggestions is not an idea or a goal! Wanting to repeat the same stupid mistakes again and again and expecting a diffrent result is not only insanity it is stupidity in the highest degree.
