(CNN) – TV commentator and Tea Party favorite Christine O'Donnell defeated U.S. Rep. Mike Castle in Delaware's Republican U.S. Senate primary Tuesday.
With 99 percent of precincts reporting, O'Donnell led Castle 53.2 percent to 46.8 percent, according to The Associated Press.
O'Donnell on Tuesday night thanked her supporters, including Tea Party groups, saying they "rallied everyday Americans outside of the political establishment, [got] them involved and created a grassroots network that made all of this possible."
"Don't ever underestimate the power of we, the people," O'Donnell said to raucous cheers from her supporters. "We, the people, will have our voice heard in Washington, D.C., once again."

The tea party surges and the liberals squirm and call them names because they fear them... Real Hope and Change is coming soon!!!
another liberal bites the dust. Love it.
Thanks guys you GOPers just lost a seat.
The once-proud Republican party has been taken over by the far-right Tea Party candidates and it will indeed be their downfall. Ms. O'donnell will loose the general election in Delaware and the Democratic candidate will sweep to victory. Perhaps if there was a defined leader for the Republicans, this could be reversed but, as it now stands, the crazier you are the more the Tea Party loves you. How truly sad.
Hallelujah, we democrats NEED this seat and this will give it to us, Hallelujah I say, it's the Baggers that will defeat the GOP, lalalalala LOL Hallelujah
DEMS all the WAY!!! Yes We Can!!!
DEMOCRATS – STATE the CASE, UNITE the BASE and we will WIN this RACE in November!!!
We have to get FIRED UP and READY to GO!!!
The dems will be crowing about this one in public and screaming in private.
Toooooooooooooooo funny!!!!
November can't get here soon enough!!!
way to go Delaware! Get rid of the East Coast Liberal! wait. . . what?
The down fall of the GOP begins.
I find it amazing that ethics questions are brought up about candidates, voters put them in office and then complain about them.
weird.
Oh well, she is too wacko to get major committee assignments. Limit the damage she can do.
Another loony elected.
The Dems can retain this seat in the Nov election. Thann you Tea Party.
Took her even longer to get a degree than it did Ms Bendy Straws from AK.
Where's her birth certificate? I heard she was born in Europe.
Oh my, now the Democrats, as usual, have to come in and cleanup the Republicans mess.
The Dems can retain this senate seat. Thank you Tea party.
Hooray,
With all the unqualified, irresponsible, radical people the tea party backs it gives us Democrats a much better chance to win!
Thanks you tea party members everywhere....for giving the Democrats another Senate seat in Delaware!!
Great news! So the seat will go to a Democrat! Thanks again Tea party!
You can't be serious. What has happened to the GOP being hijacked by these absurd extremes? No wonder many Americans have left the Republican Party, or make that–the Republican Party left us.
Yes! More money to spend in California, KY, Florida fo Dems!
Progressives, here's a lesson for you: The Tea Party is doing to the right's establishment what you could only dream do to your Dems. The reasons for their success are fundemental and therefore too complicated for many of you to comprehend, but be prepared to accept the fact that nobody takes you seriously, from the White House on down to the streets. You can't be who you want to be out in the open without shocking this country to the very core. You know that, don't you?
How many wins is that for Palin? I'm losing count here. There's the highly radiocative O-blah-blah, looking so un-messianic and earth-bound to the entire world and feeling so under-appreciated by his own.
God is Great indeed.
Castle was a major RINO and should have been sent home a long time ago and am glad O'Donnell has accomplished this action. If you have a RINO then you might as well have a demorat because Castle voted mostly along the demorat party line. At least with a demorat you can run someone again the next election and try to replace them with a Conservative Republican.
Congratulations GOP, you've left no shark unjumped. If this keeps up into 2012 consider me on board with a 2nd Obama term.
Ms. O'Donnell will once again bring back the ever changing conservative views of the extreme right which will undoubtably lead to double dip recession eras in America.
