First on the Ticker: Angle slams Reid on immigration in latest ad

Nevada Senate candidate Sharron Angle is out Wednesday with a new attack ad.
Nevada Senate candidate Sharron Angle is out Wednesday with a new attack ad.

(CNN) - In a new ad out Wednesday, former Republican state assemblywoman Sharron Angle slams her opponent, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, as "the best friend an illegal alien ever had."

"Harry Reid - he votes to give special tax breaks to illegal aliens and to give illegal's Social Security benefits even for the time they were here illegally," the ad's narrator says.

The 30-second commercial also slams the powerful Democrat for his opposition to Arizona's controversial immigration law. Reid has been a critic of the law since Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer signed it earlier this year. A federal judge blocked some of the law's strictest measures in July, hours before they were scheduled to take effect.

"Harry Reid's support for amnesty and his opposition to Arizona's immigration law stands in direct contrast to what the voters of Nevada want," Angle campaign spokesman Jarrod Agen told CNN.

According to a Mason Dixon Polling and Research survey for the Las Vegas Review-Journal and 8NewsNow out Sunday, 46 percent of likely Nevada voters back Reid, with 44 percent supporting Angle. Reid's two-point advantage is well within the survey's sampling error. Six percent are undecided and three percent say they are backing neither candidate.

Angle's ad will air statewide for about a week, Agen said.

Yup, it figures from an idiot who wants to do away with social security and have the state of Nevada go dry! Yup, it figures someone who can't handle criticism or questions from the media simply because she knows she will be crucified for all her idiotic statements over the years! So she picks on Reid because he believes in a bit of compassionism for our fellow human beings. I don't know anyone in their right mind, or with a modicum of common sense A-N-Y-O-N-E who would take this nut job serious!!

Unfortunately, many Nevada voters are illegal aliens. Reid has seen to that already.

Reid is now trying to attach an amnesty act for illegal aliens to the Defense Bill and of course spend a bunch of money we don't have in the process. He is so far out of touch with mainstream America and our economic situation that it's ridiculous!

I hope he gets the boot.

Reid is no different from any other politician, republican or democrat, who look at illegals as just another vote. They have no concern about how these people are creating vast problems in the u.s.

This is going to spell trouble for Reid and any Democrats who support Reid's push for amnesty.

Numerous polls have been released from Nevada........By a large margin, Nevada voters support the Arizona law. Nevada voters do not support amnesty for illegals in any way.

And, in regard to the country as a whole........The majority support Arizona's law........The majority in the country do not want amnesy in any form for illegals.

Seriously, i can't believe that Reid and the Democrats are so stupid as to do this now.

If they fight in our wars, they should be put on the fast-track to citizenship, assuming they have followed all the rules and paid their taxes the same as U.S. citizens.

Maybe what some people are feeling now is what Native Americans felt when our ancestors came here and killed them off, stole their land, and banished them to god-awful lands (we named them reservations, but we know it was min. sec. prison areas).

OMG – another GOP airhead winning by screeching hateful sound bites. Don't credentials and education count anymore for a leader? Any ranting cheerleader can win the GOP!

Funny when Harry Reid runs an add bashing angle, CNN's reporting on the story will include a way to click on the ad to watch it. The story on Angle's ad contains no way to do that. Seems odd. Just an oversight? Or a subtle way for CNN to tilt coverage to it's preferred candidate?

Harry needs to be unemployed, his stance on issues is not good for this country. He seems to support lawbreakers, wastes tax money, supports the devastating cap and trade bill and was a major cause of the ridiculous health care bill going through. He has no respect for the voters, plowing ahead with his agenda no matter what the wishes of the majority the people he represents. Time to put him out to pasture.
