First on the Ticker: Angle slams Reid on immigration in latest ad

Nevada Senate candidate Sharron Angle is out Wednesday with a new attack ad.

Nevada Senate candidate Sharron Angle is out Wednesday with a new attack ad.

(CNN) - In a new ad out Wednesday, former Republican state assemblywoman Sharron Angle slams her opponent, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, as "the best friend an illegal alien ever had."

"Harry Reid - he votes to give special tax breaks to illegal aliens and to give illegal's Social Security benefits even for the time they were here illegally," the ad's narrator says.

The 30-second commercial also slams the powerful Democrat for his opposition to Arizona's controversial immigration law. Reid has been a critic of the law since Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer signed it earlier this year. A federal judge blocked some of the law's strictest measures in July, hours before they were scheduled to take effect.

"Harry Reid's support for amnesty and his opposition to Arizona's immigration law stands in direct contrast to what the voters of Nevada want," Angle campaign spokesman Jarrod Agen told CNN.

According to a Mason Dixon Polling and Research survey for the Las Vegas Review-Journal and 8NewsNow out Sunday, 46 percent of likely Nevada voters back Reid, with 44 percent supporting Angle. Reid's two-point advantage is well within the survey's sampling error. Six percent are undecided and three percent say they are backing neither candidate.

Angle's ad will air statewide for about a week, Agen said.

Reid, Pelosi, and President are all best friends of Illegal aliens. What else would you expect from a group rallying around Charlie Rangel and Watters. Anything Illegal, unethical or immoral they will support. Oh and they will bankrupt the country all at the same time. November will eliminate most of the swamp rats. We get the rest of them in 2012.

Hopefully the right-wing wackos will be clobbered in November. It is too scary to contemplate extremist (for either end of the political spectrum) actually being in a position of power.

It's a shame when the federal government is more interested in suing states that are trying to enforce the law rather than enforcing the laws themselves. I hope Reid is in the unemployment line soon.

If Reid brings the Defense Bill to the floor with the DREAM Act language in it, expect to see Angle win the Senate race by 20 points as she HAMMERS him for giving Amnesty to illegal immigrants who came to the US as Children, but did NOTHING to try to gain citizenship.

It will be the absolute kiss of death to his career when people find out that he's "back-doored" amnesty for illegals into a Defense Spending bill.

Does anyone remember "Irish need not apply?"
And, oh by the way, weren't the settlers who stole the Indian lands illegals?
But I guess it's ok to be selfish and greedy.
The anti-immigration folks better have a good story for St. Peter.

Correction: the best friend illegal aliens ever had was President Bush and his 'path to citizenship' and 'guest worker' proposals! And guess what! Back in 2004 republicans were either silent on this issue, or outright supportive of it! Republicans are complete hypocrites!

It is amazing how anyone in Nevada can vote for Reid. With all the back door dealings he has had in the senate, he needs to retire period.

What part of the word "Illegal" do Dems not understand? Do we need to draw a picture for you to understand? Reid is trying to make one last desperate attempt to pass something beneficial for law breaking illegal aliens before he is jettisoned from the Senate....

Reid seems intent on committing political suicide. Trying to force the country to accept an amnesty program for illegal aliens–playing politics by sticking the proposal into an utterly unrelated defence bill–when two-thirds of the country support Arizona's law was just dumb.

I think the illegal aliens should have Social Security II. Which would start today at $0.00 and increase as they contribute like we all have since the day we started work.

What's it going to take for the people of Nevada to realize Harry Reid isn't looking out for the best interests of our country?

Let's see, there's ObamaCare, Stimulust, Cap-and-Tax, and now a this nightmare bill called DREAM.

Reid is a Socialist who is ruining America. Vote him out of office!

Vote Republican, vote for Sharron Angle, a true patriot.

A path to citizenship if they join the military. Again doing the jobs Americans won't do, especially Republicans.
What greater love for country than to put your life on the line for it.And this is wrong????

Hey libs, start licking your wounds early, the cuts to your numbers in November are going to be deep. This is what happens when you try to destroy America.

Good-Bye Harry Reid. We've suffered enough with you in the senate.

No one is giving illegals SS benefits they have not paid into. Angle has nothing to say to the press, but plenty of madeup stuff to use in ads. She is disgusting, and I pray the logical Nevada voters get out in Nov. If she wants to be angry at someone, why not the people who EMPLOY illegals in teh first palce. If they refused, the problem would end. Ah, but that's too simple, and might alienate a voter.

Ogh Goodey! An what does she propose ??? Nothing of any substance. i dont think illegals should be entitlteled to anything but at least have an idea of something to do. This is just the radical extreme of the other side. I think I would almost prefer the other at least they have some sense of whats going on.

She is so unqualified and has absolutley nothing to offer – which is typical of republicon candidates – so she is doing what they all do - attack and lie.

  21. Vote AGAINST Sharron Angle!

Sharron Angle sure has nerve doesn't she! The immigration issue has been decided by the U.S. Constitution, no less, for her information. That's how uninformed she is. And THAT gives each person, legal or ILLEGAL the right that Senator Reid follows in a most humanitarian way. Maybe Angle should try being more humanitarian, something that apparently is quite foreign to her.

And Sharron Angle is the very one who wants to DESTROY Social Security benefits and Medicare for the elderly and those in need. She has voiced that stance. Can not just Nevada but America as a whole have a person like Sharron Angle in Washington to gain momentum and take away the only thing most Americans look forward to in their retirement years? Can YOU afford to give up your Social Security and Medicare benefits that you have paid into all of your working years? If you're rich perhaps you can, but all others clearly cannot. In November, Vote a Clear NO on Sharron Angle.

Senator Harry Reid is the Clear Choice for the people of America!! And he deserves our Full Support! May God Bless him always!

Reid doesn't care about the taxpayer who has to support the illegals. He
is only concerned about getting their vote someday; just like Obama!

Apparently CNN has decided to follow Fox news to become a media outlet for rightwing nut cases. Are you now going to regurgitate every ad that every nut case puts out? Is this what you call news? zb

Harry Reid's at it again. He's trying to attach the DREAM Act to a defense spending bill.

The DREAM Act would give illegal alien "children" up to the age of 35 legal status and eventual citizenship. It would help them go to college here by offering in-state tuition and financial aid OR they could join the military (funny, I have yet to hear a "Dreamer" claim he or she wants to do THAT). The "requirements" are that the "student" attend college for at least two years (doesn't need to get a degree). It would let even gang bangers get legal status as long as they promised to stop gang activity. And the level of proof that one came to the country before age 16 is non existent. Finally, legalized Dreamers would eventually be able to sponsor the very people who brought them here illegally, usually their parents. What a bargain–for the illegal alien.
