Murkowski plans to run as write-in candidate

Sen. Lisa Murkowski will announce her plans to run as a write-in candidate Friday.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski will announce her plans to run as a write-in candidate Friday.

(CNN) - When Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska announces Friday night - as expected - that she is launching a write-in campaign to retain her seat, she'll be stepping into the middle of some very testy Republican infighting.

Tea Party Express Chairwoman Amy Kremer, whose group campaigned heavily for Murkowski's primary opponent - and eventual primary winner - Joe Miller, said the senator's decision proves she doesn't "get it."

"She was fired by the people. The people were given a choice and they voted for somebody else," she said, adding that she was shocked to learn of Murkowski's decision.

A Republican source told CNN that Murkowski informed "a few" close colleagues that she plans to run as a write-in candidate. A separate source with knowledge of her decision said she expects to announce her write-in candidacy Friday.

Congratulations, Senator Murkowski, on making the right decision! You have served Alaska well, and may you continue to do so. Please make Joe Miller and his ilk disappear from the scene. It was an embarrassment that he ever made it through the primaries. His tortured, tangled rhetoric bodes ill for the general populace. People don't realize that many of us are one step away from having to use a government service such as Medicaid or Medicare or unemployment. If Miller is so anti-government, then he should quit driving on the roads (built by the government), eating anything he hasn't grown himself (food source oversight by the FDA), flying (FAA- government agency overseeing the safety of the skies), and accepting any kind of pension or benefits from his only job sources to date (borough and federal government). He's a hypocrite, just like his media-loving friend, Sarah. The TEABAGS have been steeping long enough. Throw 'em out!

The tea BAGGERS have taken leave of their senses, and it is a good thing that Senator Murkowski is fighting back.

Republicans were respectible at one time and they can be respectable again if they do not allow their party to be taken over by a small minority of extreme whack jobs!!

I have listened to Senator Murkowski speak before, and she is a common sense Republican.

One by one, RINOS (aka Republican light) will be kicked to the curb. Murkowski is a career politician who's time has come and gone. She's a lawyer (naturally) so she should be able to find suitable a strip joint. The highest bidder, please...........
    Remember in November.

She's pulling a Charlie Crist. Not a bad strategy, actually.

The Democrate candidate must be bummed though; I still don't even know who that person is.

The problem with the incumbants in Congress is they do not listen to the voice of the people. You lost Murkowski: Now sit down and shut up.

She is entitled to run as a "Wrtie-In Candidate". That is a part of our how our system is set-up. I don't see why "Good Ole Joe Miller " is so worried if he is as good as he says he is unless he was only good for one good shot.

Another Charlie Crist - an arrogant politician who is solely interested in herself. The Alaskan Repubs have spoken - obviously she is not one of them. And, she could care less for the people of Alaska - her running will add significantly to the cost of the election. You guys/gals up north - make her find a real job andget her off the dole, please.

This is great news – Alaska needs conservative/moderate representation in the Senate not far right fringe. Senator Lisa Murkowski – stick to your principles and bring it home!

Dear Tea Partiers, Do you think this November is different? Here is a check – Did you vote for Obama or Democrat in the last election? If not, then you are just hearing what you want to hear. Peace.

Looks like Progressives in both parties are feeling the heat and coming unglued. I have faith that WE THE PEOPLE are going to take our government back from politicians and special interests groups. Let's vote and never stop holding their feet to the fire!! Tired of big government, deception and lies. Listen to your constituents and READ The bill!! Stop spending money we do not have.
