Adkins: Palin has become a 'punch line'

(CNN) – On the same night Sarah Palin roused a crowd of GOP activists in Iowa, country music star and outspoken conservative Trace Adkins told CNN he hopes the former Alaska governor does not run for president.

“She can't win - she's become a punch line,” he told CNN’s Anderson Cooper Friday night. “I love her to death, but i just don't think that she's - i don't think she can win.”

During her Iowa speech Friday, Palin herself made only one direct nod to the presidential implications of her visit to the first-in-the-nation caucus state – a politely-received joke about donning sneakers to "go running Iowa."

But the former vice presidential nominee told reporters earlier Friday she would consider running for president if the right opportunity presented itself.

The highlight of what Trace Adkins said should be that he "Loves her to death...." as do many Americans. Palin is a great leader and has done tons to enlighten us to Obama's radical liberal policies. His poicies are damaging this nation....

But Trace, Sarah has proven time and again that she is the smartest of all the Fox republican entertainers. She has a fourth grade awareness of the world and a playground expertise on lying and name calling. It puts her in the lead. Please reconsider.

Jogging shoes gives Sarah a better shot at running than Mittens, who is trying to run in $10,000 imported shoes.

Sarah has perfected the McCarthy attacks of the 1950's, and is the darling of today's Fox republican party.

"I love her to death"? This is a woman who has been the most divisive force in American politics in the last 70 years and this guy loves her to death? Palin is one of the main reasons that the political atmosphere in this country has become so toxic and intransigent. Her dreadful personal attacks on the president's background and integrity have taught every school kid that you can get ahead by showing sarcastic disrespect for a duly elected president. She has lied about every single issue she's ever commented on, especially the recent health care reform bill. On top of everything else, Palin is probably a racist. She went to five different colleges until she found one that had an essentially all-white student body and she lives in a state that isn't exactly indicative of a melting pot. "I love her to death"? Disgusting.

She is the Dems gift that just keeps on giving with her mindless one liners that don't make sense. "We are going to "take back" our America". Excuse me...we ARE America! What country is she living in?

The only thing $arah Palin is running for is the ATM where she can withdraw more money made on the backs of the fools & rubes who support her "business" of "enlightening" America. If you have an urge to send money somewhere, don't send it to this con-artist who turns around and spends it on clothes and property but rather directly to the GOP or some other organization that has your parties interest at heart and not her own personal finances.

"if the right opportunity presented itself" Does she think the public is dumb enough to believe that? Just what is all this touring around supposed to be about? Even the folk she endorses say it is clear she is doing it more to promote herself than to promote them.

Her comments about the GOP being a party of hard-working average Americans proves she is crazy. GOP is the party of the wealthy and priviliged.

Sarah Palin has energy, enthusiasm and gives a great speech. What a powerhouse if only she had the opportunity to govern in some elected role. What's that? She was elected Governor of Alaska? She quit though because, apparently, governing was going to be too difficult under the circumstances? Oh, well, never mind then.

And I love Trace Adkins, but he's an ENTERTAINER, not a person I would look to for advice on running the country – same for Sarah Palin – she's an entertainer, not someone who could run our country.

I have never heard of Trace Adkins, and being a singer hardly means we should care about his political opinions, but he's more than right in this instance in saying that Palin is a joke. But I hope she goes against his wishes and runs - the better to showcase the ignorant, lame-brained, contradictory, hypocritical and not-even-wrong attitudes and beliefs of the teabaggers.
