Adkins: Palin has become a 'punch line'

(CNN) – On the same night Sarah Palin roused a crowd of GOP activists in Iowa, country music star and outspoken conservative Trace Adkins told CNN he hopes the former Alaska governor does not run for president.

“She can't win - she's become a punch line,” he told CNN’s Anderson Cooper Friday night. “I love her to death, but i just don't think that she's - i don't think she can win.”

During her Iowa speech Friday, Palin herself made only one direct nod to the presidential implications of her visit to the first-in-the-nation caucus state – a politely-received joke about donning sneakers to "go running Iowa."

But the former vice presidential nominee told reporters earlier Friday she would consider running for president if the right opportunity presented itself.

Still drinking that Fox News Cool Aid, Buddy? As a Moderate Democrat, I'd send Caribou Barbie a contribution in order to watch he to go down to the largest defeat in Presidential Election history.

Riley, Sarah Palin is an embarassment to smart Republican women. Her only claim to fame is her sex appeal and her ability to perform when giving a speech. President Obama is healing our country from 8 years of abuse by the Republicans, it's too bad that there are so many people out there who aren't smart enough to recognize his efforts.

Quitting is not a value or principle set forth in the Constitution.
If her kind had been at Concord or Lexington…cut and run, baby. All the Brits would’ve had to do is dangle a little cash, and she’d have been spouting their Tory propaganda as “London Sara”. Just like she spews propaganda for Rupert Murdoch, Rupert’s commie wife Deng Wendi, Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, and the other foreign owners of News Corp.
She's bought and paid for–that’s all you need to know about her.

Republicans are Destroying America: read your own posts and see where most of the name calling and lying is coming from. Liberals that's who; none of you can post without calling conservatives names. Do any of you have an opinion that you can make without calling people names???

Doesn't matter what you or anyone thinks... it boils down to who God says is the president.

Please, let's not worry about 2012, let's focus on getting Democrats out in 2010. The libs (and their mouthpiece the MSM) are so desperate to deflect attention from the huge loss of seats they'll suffer in November, they are trying to continually direct attention to Palin.

If Palin even makes nomination I'd leave America. It would show the more intelligent Americans and the world that we aren't getting any smarter.

And @ Riley I really hope your kidding. She's certainly no leader... a great cheerleader and GOPuppet, is more like it.

Palin ALWAYS has been a punch line! The republicans are suffering from lack of critical thinking. Those of us who have the benefit of a good education have been wondering how long it would take for them to realize it. Thank goodness there was enough of us to make sure she never made it into office. What a disaster that would be.
The same holds true for Sharon Angle, Glen Beck and the other tea partiers.
If you take some time to consider what they are REALLY saying, and watch their actions, there is no way you could ever vote for them or take any of them seriously.
I admit, it makes good news...well, entertainment anyway.

Riley: It doesn't matter... people love their pets but wouldn't dream of letting them drive the car. And Obama may have run as a liberal but he has not really done much that is liberal. Is passing a health care bill that forces people to buy insurance liberal? Did someone convince you that green is actually purple? I'm sorry, but unless you can come up with something better than the comment you made it's clear that you are another person that doesn't want to be part of reality. Electing your mom to be president isn't going to fix our country or your warped idea of politics.

"Palin makes a bold prediction" She has made many predictions in the past.
    Death Panel prediction 100% FALSE
Bridge to nowhere would be successful, then just kept the money
She predicted that she would finish her elected position as Governor and ditched Alaska for her Hate, Lies and Fear tour
She predicted that she could submit fraudulent expense claims and not get caught, but was caught
She predicted that she would be found not guilty of abuse of power but was found GUILTY

Palin won't run. She enjoys tormenting Liberals too much. She was attacked by liberals and the liberal media as they do all women. Now she just makes lots of money slamming them everyday and making millions all at the same time. She beat them at their own game. Poetic justice.

If running for President puts the most money in her pocket she will run. If staying with fox media puts the most money she will stay there. Where ever she makes the most money that is what she will do. Let's hope it's fox so Iw ill never have to hear her nasty screeching voice again. Probably not though.

CNN has dimwits like Trace Adkins with a known name that agree with them on their show. Trace Adkins has no better knowledge than a man off the street. This is a take off of when other media had Sean Penn as an authority on politics. If you are going to have a guest have one who has the credentials to give valid views on a subject . You continue to bring on unqualified individuals much as you touted Barack Obama.

Unfortunately, there is a section of the US population who is equally under educated and equally inward in their viewpoints. And what is more concerning is these people listen to Palin's comments and take her limited view as the gospel.

Sarah Palin is a celebrity at this point for her quaint one liners which are awfully funny, yet painfully naive.

For the good of the country, Sarah should continue her road show around the US much like an entertainer traveling to entertain the troops overseas.

Our country needs a far deeper perspective than Mrs. Alaska's.

Well if the Aryans-only and "no money for people who are poorer than me" supporter Trace Adkins believes Sarah Palin can't win, then I guess he knows there's not enough bigots and greedy people out there to vote for her. There are plenty of stupid people who for some reason think voting Republican will help them (even though our deficit has always gone UP with a Republican in the White House), so maybe Trace will be surprised. By the way, where is his white hood at in this video? If he's going to say racist things, shouldn't he dress the part too?

  21. Liberals are poison

Please keep up the Palin bashing and keep ONLY posting negative
comments about her CNN. "Currently Awaiting Moderator" means
you have some pimply faced indoctrinated intern who filters out the positive comments on Palin. And you wonder why your ad revenues
have sunk and that every cartoon channel gets more viewers than you do.

A great leader? She quit halfway through her one and only term as governor because she saw a chance to make $$$ on the book/lecture circuit. That's your idea of a great leader?

I keep asking the question but nobody seems able or adept in answering ... What is she running for ? The media keeps saying "she losing popularity ... she cant win , etc ....... win what ?? There always seems to be a reference to being president. And with that there seems to be this element of fear that we may elect another totally incompetent, inept president. Of which I totally understand and sympathize. We couldn't take another 4 years of that !!

Poor Sarah. She started out as a Bad Joke, very badly told and has dwindled down to a mere punchline. Some Justice it this though as a punchline is a soundbite and a soundbite pretty well defines Palin's attention span.
