(CNN) – On the same night Sarah Palin roused a crowd of GOP activists in Iowa, country music star and outspoken conservative Trace Adkins told CNN he hopes the former Alaska governor does not run for president.
“She can't win - she's become a punch line,” he told CNN’s Anderson Cooper Friday night. “I love her to death, but i just don't think that she's - i don't think she can win.”
During her Iowa speech Friday, Palin herself made only one direct nod to the presidential implications of her visit to the first-in-the-nation caucus state – a politely-received joke about donning sneakers to "go running Iowa."
But the former vice presidential nominee told reporters earlier Friday she would consider running for president if the right opportunity presented itself.

If you look at his policies – and I mean really look at what he has done in 18 months – and turn off Fox fake news – you might change your mind. Get behind this president and as a nation working as one instead of working on our personal agendas, we will have sweeping benefits in consumer protection, the economy, education (so those unfilled jobs can be filled), new technologies, etc. This is America and together we can make this happen

Riley, Palin is a great leader? I take nothing away from Ms. Palin's craftiness and ability to mold the media to her will...but she has proven time and again to be a complete liar when it comes to Obama's policies, and the only thing she is leading is a group of ragtag malcontents who want to turn us back to the Dark Ages. LOL @ the first comment. Republicans are in control right now, friend. I agree with Adkins. I think Palin has become a punchline to too many people. They painted her as a moron last election. I agree with some of the things she has to say, but I don't think she'd make a good president. She's far too fake "folksy" for me. Her whole "mama bears" and "aw, shucks" shtick is too much. Let's not forget that this woman has a degree in communications focused on journalism.

And Trace, what moderate votes are you talking about? The only thing that they may have voted on was the bill that is geared towards helping out Veterans. I used to think she was funny, but she has moved to pathetic. She can't answer a 3rd grade geography question, so now all questions must be submitted in advance.
The national media are culpable for this. They had no problem interviewing the author of the Vanity Fair hit piece. But not one member reported how the story was debunked. Not one.
