Watchdog group: Delaware candidate's spending 'flat-out illegal'

(CNN) - A watchdog group says it plans to ask authorities in Delaware to investigate Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell's finances.

At issue are more than $20,000 of spending in 2009 and 2010 that Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington claims was illegal.

"It turns out Miss O'Donnell has treated her campaign funds like they are her very own personal piggy bank. She's used that money to pay for things like her rent, for gas, meals and even a bowling outing. And that's just flat-out illegal," said Melanie Sloan, the group's executive director.

President Obama became a millionaire becaouse he wrote and sold a book. And by the way – he actually wrote the book himself – not like someone else we know!

You need do deal in facts- not prejudice.

Give me someone who is smart any day. This dumbing down is rediculous. I don't want some average every day Joe. I want someone who is intelligent and non judgmental, not a holier than thou, finger pointing others faults, when you have issues of your own type.

@ThinkAgain-thanks for the link. I just signed the petition and encourage others to do the same. Not only will this crazy woman represent the interest of Delaware, she will vote on policies/laws/etc..that will effect the country as a whole! She is dangerous and should not hold ANY public office!

Delaware: I am confident that the citizens of your state will reject this crook/loon's platform and vote for Chris Coons....the country is depending on you!

One thing is clear from all of this: Delaware's next senator will be a Democrat. I'd like to personally thank the Tea-baggers for making this possible. Nice work. Are you guys on the Democrats pay-roll?

And guess what, O'Donnell owes it to her supporters to be honest, isn't that what they want when she tells them she will fix the economy.

With attacks like this, is it any wonder that only wealthy, corporate backed candidates can win general elections? The system does not want regular citizens in office. Only political hacks or their tools need apply.

Christine O'Donnell is just putting you liberals in a fit.

You betcha!!!Can't get over the fact how stupid people are and voting against the people who actually care for us. Yeah, I know, liberals are lying socialists and tax hikers who take care of the less fortunate with the govt. benefits and the elderly and the unemployed and disabled. But that ofcourse, you know, is a lie. People, who are the republican/teapartiers have not experience hardships it seems or just believe that the good Lord will fix everything.

Love watching the right wing posters go apoplectic. O'Donnell is an awful candidate and will lose by 25 points. Then they will blame the media. Palin/O'Donnell 2012!

What about our treasury sec. and others in Obama's cabinet. Check out their past history on paying taxes; after you do that then go after others and you will see they are worse than what is already in power.

She's on the offensive about being lied about - that means she is guilty or she wouldn't be covering her BIG BUTT in advance.

Like Palin. How can so many be such idiots to believe a word they say.

Oh you liberals are too funny. If this was a democrat, you would not even be looking at her finances. You would wait till the person is elected and hope in the next 20 years no one would find out about it, much like Rangel and Waters. Democrats are the worst when it comes to pointing fingers because they need to clean up their own party first before they start to even suggest anything illegal regarding finances with Republicans. Hell, half the Obama administration doesn't even pay their own taxes, and I don't see you liberals complaining about that and calling them crooks. Such fools the Democrats are.

Christine. O'Donnell is just a struggling American like the majority of us are in the Obama recession these days. She represents the common man so there's no wonder the Elite liberals hate her. The Elite Liberals hate all women trying to do well in politics. Look what they did to Hillary and Palin.

Christine O'Donnell has up to now only proven that she is incapable of any positive input into anything. So it would not be surprising if she cannot handle finances either. Not hers and not the finances of the country. That alone should be her disqualification for the “conservative”. I can think of many, many more points why she is not qualified for anything, never mind running for the Senate!

I don't see what is this obsession of CNN trying to portray these elections as somekind of huge government overhaul. Fact is, over 90% of incumbents who ran for election have won their primaries. (guess how that trend will continue in the general election) The Tea Party has ran/supported only a small percentage of races. They have gone only about 50% victory in elections where they took part. And many of the candidates they supported were the same ones the republican establishment also supported from the beginning. So the Tea Party victories that somehow will turn government on its head represent only a small percentage of all races.
Sorry to break it to you people, come November we will just see more of the same.

Pres Obana wants campeign finance reform...During his campaign when John McCain suggested it he, Obama wanted none of it..
The Obama campaign then claimed the donation came from the "Little People" a dollar at a time....So far Obama did not open his campaign books to public scrutiney...is it not about time to have the books audited and see who donated what and how the funds were spend....................................................................................................!
