(CNN) - President Obama urged Congressional Black Caucus members to help rally their constituents and remind them that more work must be done to move the country forward.
The nation's first black president addressed the group at its annual awards gala on Saturday night. He touched on race issues and his win to office, saying it "wasn't just about electing a black president."
"It was about giving every hardworking American a chance to join a growing middle class," he said. "It was about putting the American dream within reach for all Americans, no matter who you are, what you look like, or where you come from."

Once again Obama who promised to bring us together as a nation is using race to divide us even more.If you don't go along with his plans to transform America than you are a racist.This is so sad !!!
Has his policies changed the employment numbers for blacks in the country since he became president? Has his policies decreased the poverty levels for blacks since he became president?All i've heard is promises but i haven't seen much in the way of results.
If Obozo had gone to a "White Congressional Caucus' and tried to rally them to vote for his causes, he'd be acused of racism.....if the shoe fits, wear it.

The unemployment rate in this country has been over 9% for over 16 months now .The poverty rate in 2009 went to over 14% in 2009. Obama has given new meaning to the misery index a term used in the administration of Jimmy Carter but aptly suited for his. !!!

Vic you may be right. If the minority you are referring to are the liberals in this country. All the polling data says more Americans see themselves as conservatives.
Sometimes when my alarm go off early in the morning I think of turning the clock so that I sleep more. I end up laughing at myself how can that be!! So should those who voted for Change. Not only the black community. It will be a laughable thing that we will turn the clock and go back o what we rejected (GOP). This is the time when we will show that we are using our heads and not our hearts in voting.

If you oppose Obama you are called a racist but he can go before a black caucus and call for them to rally the voters now who is the racist here? He talks about saving the middle class; he has done more to destroy it than a lot of other presidents just look at the overall unemployment rate; the poverty rate has gone over the top under him; some change. I know it's still all Bush's fault.

Obama visited the caucus and asked them to rally their 'constituents' who happen to be black, white, Hispanics, etc. So where is there racism here? How is Obama using race here? The report didn't say Obama asked the Black Caucus to rally black voters. It said "their constituents." It is obvious that because of your color coded mentality, you have no idea that the constituencies that members of the caucus represent also consist of other races besides black folks.

@kelly – the President has done everything possible to bring us together as a nation. The rethugs are the ones that are just not eviscerating their own party (thanks mcnasty/quitter) but the country as a hole.
The President is using half of his race just like any other candidate would to explain what is needed to make sure the rethugs do not take over congress because it would be a major disaster to bring potilics and their right wing putrid ideas for the rest of us to follow.

Since obama entered the White House and combined with a liberal congress, what has gone up? Blacks are experiencing record-high unemployment largely due to the terrible economy that the Obama administration has failed (in spectacular fashion) to fix, and also b/c of the illegal immigrants who gobble up low-skilled jobs that many blacks rely on.
Of course they can't wait to come out and vote now that the almighty Obama has ordained it!
Why would you even have a black caucus , no other civilized country in the western world would divide by colour , be that black or white.
No wonder your country is in such a mess.
Why all this nonsense about being an african , italian or hispanic American , just aim to be good American citizens and you might end up living in a better country.
