DNC raises nearly $11 million; awaiting RNC numbers

Washington (CNN) - The Democratic National Committee raised nearly $11 million last month, a Democratic source tells CNN Monday.

That brings to $74.6 million the amount of money raised by the DNC this year, according to the source, who also says that the party committee has $13.4 million cash on hand as of the end of August, with $8.4 million in debt.

The DNC raised $11.5 million in July.

The DNC has committed to spending $50 million to help Democratic candidates running in this year's midterm elections.

The Republican National Committee is expected to release their August fundraising numbers later Monday. The RNC raised $5.5 in July.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee says it raked in $7.42 million last month, with $22.9 million cash on hand. The DSCC says it spent $7.42 million in August.

The DSCC's GOP counterpart, the National Republican Senatorial Committee, says it brought in $6 million last month, with $24.5 million in the bank. The NRSC says it spent $2.6 million in August.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee announced its take for the month of August stating they've raised $8.32 million. The DCCC said it also spent $5.08 million in August and had $39.05 million cash on hand with no debt.

You see it is not just the GOP that is getting corporate money, these corporations actually pay into both sides.
Our elected representation is for sale to the highest bidder.....

The RNC is a joke. The Koch brothers and other big businesses are sending their money directly to candidates who will owe them loyalty in return.

Have obama explain how he has stopped deep water drilling for the US but is giving billions to Mexico to drill in the same places where we were drilling. 12,000 plus US jobs lost from this drilling ban and billions of US tax dollars to Mexico to drill. Sounds radical to me. LOOK IT UP PEOPLE.

I think most of us who have seen how the GObP/Tea Bagger/ McCarthyism works will send our small donations to candidates willing to help Americans. 5 million $10 donations will counter the $50 million that big business and the Koch brothers will spend to try to eliminate safety, environmental, and wall street regulations.

That money was most likely received from the bailout money that the unions got from the government with taxpayer money . The unions in return give that money to the dems campaign .The democrats should be investigated on this money they received . Obama and the dems are corrupt to no end.

RNC contributors are sending their monies directly to the candidates so they can collect later if their candidates actually win.

RNC is waiting for funds from overseas companies and investors that don't pay taxes, thanks to our Supreme Court Justices.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves calling not just my Mom and Dad a racist but nearly 70% of America. You make me sick and you call yourself journalists. Huh I would leave CNN and dig ditches before I took any kind off money you were spewing from your toxic funds.
You see it is so obvious why you are reporting the way you are is because of money and your affiliations. You are a racist reporting agency spewing lies and deceipt from your mouths every day. How can you get up in the morning and look at yourselves in the mirror.

You can spend billions, but no one is going to be convinced to leave the Dems in power, no matter how much you spend.

And roughly 10 million of that came from the socialist and convicted criminal George Soros. You know the one that illegally funneled over 20 million into Obama's campaign from his foreign companies.

Dig deep democrats and Americans against the rise of the right wing National Socialists that have been misnamed Teabuggers! With the right wing Robert's court ruling that campaign money has no limits for corporations and foreign sources, it will take a lot to defeat these special interest groups and keep them from power!

The DNC should get a lot of money because a lot of their people do not pay their fair share of taxes: Rangel, Kerry, and the lists goes on!
