(CNN) - Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski is on the air with a paid advertisement making her case to Alaskans and asking them to "stand by me" as she pursues a general election write-in campaign.
In her first ad of the general election, the current Republican Senator from Alaska wastes no time going after her opponents.
"Alaskans have spoken, they cannot accept the extreme views of Joe Miller nor the inexperience of Scott McAdams," Murkowski says in the ad.
After losing to Republican Joe Miller in the GOP primary last Tuesday, Murkowski decided to run as a write-in candidate in November against Miller and Scott McAdams, the Democratic nominee.
Murkowski in the ad released today says she decided to run because of the recent support she received from her constituents and said she plans to stand up critics outside the state.
"Over the coming weeks outside interests will attempt to label me, lie about my record and discourage you from voting for me," Murkowski says. "But I will not abandon my principles or the state that I love."
According to the campaign the ad will air statewide for the next week.

I am a registered, Independent (former Republican as of 2000). Every single Republican moderate who has been ousted by the Teabaggers, should run as Independents against them! That include Inglis!
Murkowski is just taking Palin’s advice "Don't retreat, reload!"
Why should a small minority of republicans decide for the whole state of Alaska ... or Florida? Jim DeMinted needs to mind his own business – he's not an Alaskan ...
Maybe she'll win – maybe not ... but why are republicans sooooo fearful of giving people a third choice ... ???
Alaskans have spoken, Lisa. You lost.
You are right. Alaskans have spoken. You LOST! Give it up RINO!
talk about desperation. poor thing
lisa murkowski thinks shes royalty and only cares about one thing....lisa murkowski
Alaskans should not allow the Tea Party Express to hijack their political races. Miller only won because the TPE dumped hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of misleading ads into a very small market. Murkowski never had a shot. She should run as a write-in if for no other reason than to prevent Miller from taking office.
And shame on the GOP for dumping on her. Shows you where their loyalties are. What a bunch of goons.
Lisa,
You will go down in history. Unfortunately, it wont be for winning as a write in candidate. It will be for going down in flames as a sour puss loser. Why do you want to be remembered this way? With no friends left and everyone against you?
Are you kidding me? YES... the Alaskans HAVE spoken... and that is why you DID NOT WIN THE PRIMARY.
Time to hang it up, Murkowski. Stop being so selfish and STAND DOWN.
Desparation is not a pretty thing.
What part of lost doesn't she understand? What part of, "I will support the winner." is complicated. What part of self-aggrandizement doesn't she understand?
Hey Lisa, turns out that seat belongs to ALASKA and not you, who knew?
Stand by her why? She lost and can't accept it. make her lose in Nov. and be rid of her.
give it up... are you really concerned about the USA – Lisa! You just want your cushy job!
Alaskans have spoken...and they don't want you...lol...this is humorous...how can she come out and say this.....something ain't stirring the kool-aid up in Alaska..lol.
So, she loses her primary, and pulls a Spector and thinks that'll work?
Anyways, this is a good thing, she'll just split the democrats vote, no republican in their right mind will vote for this sore loser.
Alaskans HAVE spoken and they said "NO" to her.....
look frantic in the attached pic?????
Why bother? Joe Miller and Murkowski are exactly the same on the issues and both are puppets of the Big Oil lobbyists that own Alaska.
Another Liberal with a entitlement mentality. This is why there should be term limits to eliminate self serving career politicians.
I have two word for Lisa Murkowski: Sore loser!
Ok, the Tea Party is certainly not all bad, but they could use better talent with which to replace the old establishment. Miller for Murkowski-really, is that all you got?
what an idoit
your right lisa alaskans have spoken and they do not want you now be a good little girl and see if daddy can fix it
Sore loser! It was clear after the primary that voters didn't want her!
