Washington (CNN) - House Republican Leaders will unveil a 21 page "Pledge to America" on Thursday morning. CNN obtained a copy of the document Wednesday, which lays out a "governing agenda" for what Republicans would do if they won control of Congress.
The document focuses primarily on issues of jobs and the economy, with a short reference in the "preamble" section referencing the party's position on social issues. In terms of specific proposals, Republicans propose to permanently extend all the tax cuts due to expire at the end of this year, give small businesses a tax deduction equal to 20% of their income, require Congress to review any new federal regulations that add to the deficit. The plan also calls for federal spending to be rolled back to pre stimulus levels, which the GOP says will save $100 billion in the first year.

Several GOP sources had told CNN there were no plans to say much at all about social issues, since the electorate is so heavily focused on jobs and spending.
GOP leaders settled on a line that states: "We pledge to honor families, traditional marriage, life, and the private and faith-based organizations that form the core of our American values."
This language was a late addition, according to a GOP source, after Rep Mike Pence argued that social issues should be included in this document representing the House GOP agenda.
Okay! Now here's the question: Where were you so called conservatives, concerned about the economy, when your parties president (binky the wonder chimp), ran it straight over a cliff ? Color me sick of all republicans, and their lieing mouths. You want to do something constructive, go out and see the ruination of our nation, that you and your party caused.
While people are struggling to make ends meet and, unfortunately, are relying on the givernments help for that, these guys are up to cut the money!!! Oh, wait, all of them are free-loaders that doesn't pays income taxes and all that...
Go take a walk on the real world!
Let me paraphase exactly what this document says. Continue tax-breaks for the wealthiest 2% of all Americans who have been priviledged to live in a country where they can become wealthy either honestly or immorally. They want to maintain this "perk" because of "quid pro quo". They wealthy should be ashamed of themselves for not wanting to pay their fair share instead of dumping the burden on the middle class who helped them achieve their wealth. Cut spending of all the programs that benefit the hard-working middle class of America, including Social Security and Medicare that the middle class has paid into for years. Mandate "Government" programs that would dictate how you and your family "should live" while they prostitute themselves. Steal your social security so it can be spent on corporate welfare. This is really no different that the 1994 "Contract ON America".
Sound more like a GOBP pledge to their corporate masters. That "regulations that add to the deficit" is particularly dangerous as they will no doubt then argue that any regulation that could cause a decrease in taxable business profits "adds to the deficit" (via lower tax revenues). Beware, America, because the lying teatards do NOT have your best interests at heart. For the past few decades all they've cared about is the ultrarich. We are still suffering the consequences of their abusive governing philosophy and it would be foolish and dangerous to return such anti-American traitors to power.
GOP's Pledge to America: WE WILL DO THE SAME THING TO YOU AGAIN. SUCKERS.
Let's see. More tax cuts, hold to 2008 budget, unlimited funding (unfunded) for military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. That's what put us in a severe deficit condition from a prior surplus. What's new? I am a registered Republican that will be voting as an independent - not the party line.
I really wonder if the Republicans will honor the entire Constitution and not just the parts that they agree with.
GOP Contract with America
1. Trickily down economy
2. Cut social security, Medicare and medicate
3. Same oh same oh (Healthcare)
4. Government controlling womans body
So they sent this country into a tailspin in the 6 years they had control, and they are convincing people they are the better option? How bout they just run the parts of the country that are dellusional and the others run the sane parts of the US?
Pledge to America.... a rework of Contract With America.... how did that work for you?.... Republicans are pathetic
Nothing new from the party of NO!! Tax cuts for the rich so that they "can (or not) create jobs. It sure didn't stop the rich for creating jobs except they were too busy screwing the rest of the population to care about the little guy.
You want to have a pledge to America. Work with the President instead of wanting him to fail or have his Waterloo.
