DNC blasts Republicans' 'pledge'

(CNN) - The Democratic National Committee released a web video Friday accusing House Republicans of violating their "Pledge for America" just hours after introducing it.

The 40-second video shows clips of House Minority Leader John Boehner and Illinois Republican Rep. Peter Roskam on Thursday morning touting their plan to help small businesses before flashing to coverage of the House voting to pass a $30 billion small business bill.

They ad says that by proclaiming support for small business initiatives, but then summarily voting against a the bill, "The GOP broke their 'Pledge to America' within hours of making it."

"The House passed President Obama's $30 billion small business bill, just one Republican voted for the bill," a television commentator says.

Whatever happened to "this is a battle of ideas?" Where is the Democratic "positive agenda?" Oh, that's right. They like to play by different sets of rules. Fair enough. Come November and they will be calling moving vans for the holidays.

You mean they promised to be financially responsible then didn't immediately sign onto another dem spending bill? How ... um... wait, what was the problem there?

But the Dem policies, they're all laid out int eh Budget for the fiscal year starting October 1st, right? Oh, there's no budget? You can't filibuster a budget, and the Dems have majorities... so what's the holdup? I guess budgets aren't worth having, but attacks on the other party are crucially important?

Thanks for showing your priorities. Pushing off a vote on the Bush Tax Cut extension until after the election too so you won't have to run on your votes there as well? No surprise, openness, honesty, responsibility, and accountability aren't think the Democratic Party is especially find of.

Republicans still talking with a FORKED tongue. Not surprising, look at the GOP Leadership, it consists of a bunch of LIARS who say one thing in front of the camera while voting NO on everything having to do with the middle class in this country.

Kaine never could the thoughts of anything but tax increases while he was trying to make our lives harder in Va. so this doesn't surprise me. If you are not talking about tax increases Kaine is not interested.

  7. I'M A TEA PARTY MEMBER WHO WOULD NEVER VOTE REPUBLICAN

Lobbyists wrote the entire "pledge". It was written by a lobbyist for Enron and AIG – Wake up Tea Partiers – The G.O.P. is using you and will dump you like a cheap date.
Republican pledge to lick the feet of the multi-national corporations who pay no taxes and ship our jobs overseas.

The "Democratic positive agenda" is being implemented as we speak in spite of McConnell and Boehner and their party of "let's make sure Obama fails". The Republicans are so desperate now they are stealing the words of JFK and signing up homeless people to run against Dems in Nov. The GOP is melting fast...the damage this recession has done to their party will take a long time to repair and it will be a long time before the American people will believe them. The only way they will win in Nov. is through more dirty tricks (eg. the removal of Campaign donation restrictions on big/overseas corps and billionaires) by the right leaning Supreme Court. Let's hope the American people don't let them get by with those unscrupulous methods of stealing elections.

Their "pledge" is a total joke. One again no details. Just talking points and pictures. When you look at this you will realize they have no real idea or plan to cover the deficit. No tax hikes but spending on defense? What? How is increase defense spending going to help me or help the economy?

    Here is a summary:
See spot run....see spot lie....see spot not represent the people....see spot support and defend the rich so they can get more money for their campaigns.

REPRESENTATIVE CLYBURN hit it right on the head, the Gop spelled it wrong and was supposed to be PLAGUE on America instead of Pledge to AMERICA .Just like Gingrich and this same GOP racist group called theirs Contract for America instead of what it really was [CONTRACT ON AMERICA.] Boehners eyes look pretty bloodshot in the picture advertising this so called answer to our problems.
