(CNN) – Keeping to his promise that he would release a controversial video clip of Delaware GOP Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell every week until she appears on his television show, liberal comedian Bill Maher unveiled another clip of the Tea Party favorite on Friday.
In the latest clip, culled from a 1998 episode of Maher’s old show “Politically Incorrect,” O’Donnell is shown vehemently asserting that “evolution is a myth.”
Video: 'Evolution is a myth,' says O'Donnell in 1998
A stupefied Maher asks, “Have you ever looked at a monkey?” to which O’Donnell replies, “Well then...why aren’t monkeys still evolving into humans?”
Maher aired the clip on his current HBO show, "Real Time with Bill Maher."
The latest clip comes days after video of O’Donnell surfaced showing the candidate in 2003 claiming its possible to stop Americans from having sex.
And last week, Maher released a clip that featured O’Donnell in 1999 saying that in high school she “dabbled into witchcraft.”
O’Donnell’s campaign has dismissed the previous clips as distractions.
According to a CNN/Time/Opinion Research Corporation poll released Wednesday, Democratic Senate nominee Chris Coons holds a 16 percentage point lead over O’Donnell among likely voters, 55 percent to 39 percent. Among the wider pool of registered voters, Coons leads O'Donnell by 25 points.
I love how Tea Partiers come here and post "I'm a liberal and a democrat but just because you think Evolution is a myth doesn't make you stupid". No, it does. What makes you more stupid is if you ask "Why aren't monkeys still turning into Humans?"
The real stunning thing about this story... 39 per cent of likely voters would still support O'Donnell. How can that be? Are 39 per cent of likely voters just as nutty as she appears to be?
People who believe creation is a myth should watch "The Truth Project." Some people who claim to be objective and always in search of the truth are really just trying to confirm things are the way they want them to be so they can feel good about themselves. C. S. Lewis was someone who always searched for the truth, was always open minded and discovered something that changed him from an atheist to a believer in Jesus Christ. "Mere Christianity" chronicles his search and discovery.
Why do American voters constantly put ignorance on a pedestal?
Unfortunately the educational system for many decades has been teaching evolution as if it is scientific fact. Of course it is only a theory and not a very bright one at that.
Keep it up CNN. Your biased shilling for the Democrats and hatred for non-liberals all but assures O'Donnell will win in November. When Maher asked if she had ever seen a monkey, she should have replied, "I'm looking at you, aren't I?"
Try (for a change) reminding people that her opponent is a self proclaimed "Bearded Marxist."
That is what happens when you pick beauty over brain, disaster is inadible. I know alot of emotional people out there will vote for her because they feel sorry for her and her beauty and not her merrits.
Evolution is a myth......and so is Religion......There all is fair in love and war......NEXT!!!!!!
She shows the same kind of untroubled ignorance VP candidate Palin did before she wised up and avoided trying to deal with "facts." Her un-self-critical belief in an ideology prevents her from seeing the obvious fallacies in what she says she believes. She's another not-ready-for-prime-time Tea Partier who is making it (so far) on looks, bravado, and an anti-government playbook. In the unlikely event she gets elected, the GOPhers will come to rue the day.
sick twisted woman... plain and simple.
I dont get why religious people cant seem to admit that evolution is real. How many missing links need to befound before you admit that humans have evolved. There have been hundreds of transitional fossils found and even DNA analysis on some of the better preserved remains. Even chimp DNA had been determined to be 95 – 98.5 % Identical to human DNA. Evolution doesnt disprove the existence of a god though it certainly doesnt help.
I really don't think that the majority of reasonable people are against her because of what she believes. Rather the idea the she wants to make everyone to come around to her way of thinking. If she wishes to believe that evolution is a myth many many brave men and women fought and died for her right to believe that. Those same brave people made the ultimate sacrifice for everyone's right to disagree and/or reject her ideas.
No matter what you read, what you hear, what your friends say, there is no proof that evolution is fact. Of course, creatures adapt to varying or changing environmental developments, but that does NOT mean that a minnow will someday evolve into a squirrel. She has a legitimate point. Deal with it and expand your mind.
I am still surprised that the wider Republi(k)an Party has not renounced her for the total nutjob that she is...
But then they would have to renounce Angle, Wilson, Paul, and oh yes, Rubio.
Do the Republi(k)ans really believe they can control any of these wackos if they stumble into an election victory?
Bill Maher at one time had some manners but never recvered from being dropped on his head. CNN at one time was the number one "Cable News Network and decided to go far to the socialist left and has lost viewers and is on life support. Christine Odonnell was very young abd has learned by her mistakes. Perhaps moral counseling work bring both CNN and Bill Maher back to the main stream. You both would get more viewers. You know, she doesn't even understand evolution. She thinks that the concept of evolution should mean that there would be no more apes (i.e., monkeys) because they all would have become human. Her ignorance (that is not what evolution means!) is more troubling than her strongly held absurd beliefs. But forget about her–she can't possibly win, unless she gets a gig on Dancing with the Stars.
Obama snorted coke but that's ok. O'Donnel doubts evolution as the definitive path and that's not ok.
Hypocracy of the left knows no bounds.
Other bunch of BS from the lunatic Maher. Lets get back to what she can do to help get this country back on track.
There are two kinds of people. Those who have evolved, and those who haven't.
An invisible man created the cosmos in six days and rested on the seventh. He then put two people on the Earth whereas a snake tricked the female into eating an apple which then cast the two people into the world after which an old man collected some animals and rode out a storm created by the invisible man because he was not happy at all the partying that was going on. Yeah...with that kind of scorching evidence you would have to claim evolution is myth.
Another Hostage thrown out the window. Boy she better get her butt on his show fast
Why are those of you who do not believe in religion so quick to judge those of us who have faith? Don't we have a right to believe what WE want to believe? We believe very strongly in God, faith, and the bible. The bible says man was made by God and the story of Adam and Eve. If you don't want to believe in god and the bible that is your choice but DON'T criticize me for my beliefs!! A Christian cannot selectively believe in the bible but believe the ENTIRE bible including the story of man. DON'T cross your eyes at me when I tell you my beliefs and DON'T assume the theory of evolution has been proven without a doubt. I support the statement of O'Donnell and just because she says evolution is a myth only confirms her religious faith. You tell us Christians not to question the faiths of Muslims, Jews, and non-believers (and we don't laugh and ridicule their beliefs) – why can't you respect our beliefs in the same manner............
I live on a volcano in Hawaii called Maui. Perhaps you've heard of it. Anyway, millions of years ago, there was NOTHING on this volcano. It was totally barren. My mankind, wind, birds, the feet of birds - stuff got here. It evolved to survive. Our Red-Headed bird "evolved" from a species in South America. Every single aspect of our vegetation and plants and birds and ETC are a different species, similar (but not exact) to other species around the world - the they each EVOLVED to survive with the conditions here on a volcano. What an idiot!
What a kook! She even looks like Palin sans glasses. Now how are we to know what she really stands for? She has participated in witchcraft, and she proclaims that she is a Christian. How do these people get college degrees when they deny science that is required study in school?
Those who don't believe in evolution also believe that the earth is only about 6,500 years old, despite all the evidence to the contrary. I was a liberal democrat for years and switched in 2008 to an independent. I am still a progressive, though. And I firmly believe that Ms. O'Donnell is a tried and true nut job. Electing her to the US Senate, as bad as it is right now, will only make it unmistakeably worse. Yes, we need more "ordinary" people in Congress, and less greedy professional politicians. But we, at the same time, need intelligent, reasoned people. People who can understand both sides of an issue and, if necessary, be able to compromise for the good of the nation. Ms. O'Donnell meets none of those criteria.
