Obama and Biden head back to school

(CNN) - President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and other top Democrats are heading back to school Tuesday, in hopes of convincing first time voters from the 2008 election to vote again in 2010.

The president is scheduled to headline a Democratic party rally at the University of Wisconsin in Madison while the vice president is the main attraction at a similar event at Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania.

The idea is to fire up "surge" voters and motivate them to go to the polls again in this November's midterm elections. According to national exit polls from 2008, 11 percent of people who cast ballots in the presidential contest said they were first time voters, and seven out of ten of those new voters said they backed Obama in the election. Many of those people were young voters, and exit polls indicated that two-thirds of people age 18-29 voted for Obama.

In advance to Tuesday's rallies, the president held an conference call with college and university journalists.

"You can't sit it out. You can't suddenly just check in once every 10 years or so, on an exciting presidential election, and then not pay attention during big midterm elections where we've got a real big choice between Democrats and Republicans," Obama said.

There's no mistake in the locations for the Obama and Biden rallies. In Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, the Democrats face tough odds in holding onto Senate seats and governorships. Polls also indicate that Republicans have a good chance of grabbing back a bunch of House seats.

Also on the road Tuesday: Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine, at a rally at the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware; Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland; Labor Secretary Hilda Solis at California State University in Los Angeles; and United States Trade Representative Ron Kirk at North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina.

Obama's speech at the University of Wisconsin is the first in what Democratic Party officials say will be a series of "Moving America Forward" events by the president over the next couple of weeks.

I hope the DNC is picking up the bills for all of his campaigning. This president needs to stay in DC. Oh I forgot campaigning is all he knows how to do except spend money we don't have.

Too freaking funny, trying to go after impressionable first time voters that are gullible enough to buy their platform of SPEND, I bet they are aware now that Mom and Dad are jobless. I wouldn't care if the Republicans promised the moon, with this healthcare deformity crammed up our butts I for one can promise that I will NEVER vote for a Democrat on the State or Federal level again as long as I live. Next on the campaign stop is the San Quentin, the Chrome Illegal Immigration processing Center in Miami and then on to Raiford where ACORN community organizers will be busily signing up new voters for the DNC. The blinders are off and America has awakened, we don't want anymore of Washington nose in our business or hand in our pocket, say goodbye DEMS, Obama has insured a Republican sweep in November and in 2012!

What a waste of time, the students have already figured out that with these bozos in the white house, they won't be able to find a job when they graduate. The only students that might vote democratic are the ones getting pell grants.

"Obama and Biden head back to school"................................Hopefully those two nitwits will head back to school and learn a little bit about economics, capitalism, American History and The Constitution this time. Last time they were too busy with their basketweaving, ethnic studies and Socialism 101 classes to learn anything worthwhile.

Going back to school has to scare the hell out of the right wingnuts. Most of them spent their academic years in the corner wearing a dunce cap. In their defense, you do not need that there schoolin' if you just make bagger crap up, and post it every day.

All these Democrat "road scholars" hitting the universities is befitting because they are true examples of the importance of education. I never hear one Republican talking about education, especially not Palin, she doesn't believe in it nor does her husband. Palin told Levi to go back to school but she didn't tell her own child or husband.

Mr. President and Mr. Vice-President: look no further. My family has two first time voters and they can't wait to cast their votes FOR you. Its so nice to have grown-ups in charge again instead of drunken cowboys and Jr.'s.

Didn't someone in his administration have the courage to come forward and tell the president that gimmicks will not prevent his party from being turned out in the Nov. elections.Obama could have prevented all this had he just focused on the economy the day he was elected. Instead he made the decision to ram down the throats of the American people a healthcare reform plan that most people find mostly a bureacratic nightmare. And till this day he has his people out there trying to sell it to the public.

Since the unemployment is almost 10%, the democratic party has to tell the voters this.
!. what would the unemployment be if the federal goverment did not bail out general motores and crysler, and don;t forget all the sub contracters.
    2. How much more would the unemployment be if it wasn't the stimulas.
If these things were not done, the inemplyment might be 15% or more.

They are Young but not Dumb! Well, not dumb enough to vote twice for Obama and the Dems... Well maybe they are but it does not matter at this point because the silent majority will be at the polls in mass and the number of young voters will only dictate whether it is a blow out or just a romp by the Repubs and Tea Party candidates....

That is the best hope for Democrat liberals, hit them where they are stupid. The NEA has had 12 years to turn their little heads to mush with liberal and union messages, and then they go to college where they have nothing but liberal professors. They really don't figure out how much they have been lied to by the Democrat liberal machine until they are working, if then. They are taught that their money is the governments (and the unions). Perfect place for the incompetent, corrupt, inept, union toady and his hair plugged gaffer to be, They can't face the real world.
