2:44 p.m.: There is a large group of protesters on Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House.

U.S. Park Police say they expect to arrest about 100 of them for "failure to obey a lawful order.

Will be fun to see how many people don't read this very short article and therefore claim that this is proof Obama is trying to silence conservatives who disagree with him.

Hint: "They are protesting mountain top mining."

Besides, this is just the US Park Police. I'm willing to bet that Obama wasn't even told about what's going on there. There's somebody outside the WH protesting something or other almost every day, things the POTUS probably agrees with and things he probably doesn't, but the vast majority of them follow the rules for their permits and don't get themselves arrested.

Put the protesters in prison camps like Woodrow Wilson did. Obummie is following in his foot steps. Americans won't be able to have dinner table discussions before long with Obummie having a web cam in to see if they are talking about him. Well, I am. Come and arrest me Obummie.

John McCain stood by and watched his security knock a woman to the ground. Cowards.

    Sniffy BB,
Since when does mountain top mining have anything to do with political views ?

Right...because protesting mountain top mining and the stripping of natural resources and pointing out that there is not a single credible scientist who will tell you with a straight face that "clean coal" is a reality...those aren't traditionally associated with "hippy liberal environmentalist tree huggers." You're probably right...I see sooooo many conservatives out there on the compaign trail promising to do away with filthy coal mining practices, help us move towards green energy sources and seek to control massive sources carbon emissions to slow/prevent man's contributions to global climate change. Yep...I'm way off base and it's a totally conservative position. Industries harvesting traditional fuel sources entrenched in southern states aren't at all a protectorate constituency of the GOP and conservatives. It's all a liberal conspiracy.

Do you even listen to yourself speak?

Terrie, Care to share whatever it is you're smoking? Your paranoia is astounding. Do you see evil lurking around every corner, and lie in bed at night trying to hear the black helicopters? Here's a hint: Go seek the help of a competent medical professional.

In fact, why does CNN frame the article as 'Arrests expected at the White House' ? It's almost as if they are trying to get eyes on the article by implying that there is about to be a series of arrests of people who work there – as if the Fed just swooped in to make a series of arrests after some years-long corruption investigation.. No, rather it is the daily nonsense and business as usual in front of the White House.

    SO **not** news.

Capitol police are about 21 months too late! The criminals have fled DC and are hiding out on a ranch in texass and some dusty hole in wyoming.

I presume you are a conservative, if not a TeaBagger, and thus are worried about losing your freedom, hewing to a strict interpretation of the Constitution, and fearful of losing all that is held near and dear by patriotic Americans. Do really think throwing people exercising their Constitutional right to free speech should be thrown into prison? Are you right-wingers so deluded about what constitutes freedom and patriotism that you would resort to totalitarian abuse of your fellow citizens?

Shuffle on down to your local Walmart. I hear aluminum foil is on sale.

I'm willing to bet what's keeping him awake at night is more along the lines of visions of black POTUSes and black panthers dancing in his head.

The paranoia started when they perceved "darky" as taking over, and it went off the rails when the GOP created, organized, funded, and encouraged Astroturf Frankenstein to start eating villagers.

"Do really think throwing people exercising their Constitutional right to free speech should be thrown into prison?"

Actually, the point is this: your permit defines the limits of your exercise of that right...it's not absolute...no rights are...and if they were doing things that caused themselves to get arrested, we'll find out as the facts are released whether it was warranted. You can't start from the premise that they were simply "exercising" their constitutional right to free speech, because they may indeed have been "abusing" it. That's what we have a justice system for....and while it ain't perfect, you still have to believe in it (it does still happen to get it right most of the time).

I thought the SAME when I read the HEADLINE – I held my breath because I truly believed that someone in the WH was about to be arrested for SOMETHING – First thing that came to mind, is it a Republican or Democrat -then, WHAT are they being arrested for – ALL of that ran through my mind BEFORE I CLICKED the Full Post button to read it!!

I complain about this all the time ... CNN has a habit of making their HEADLINES more serious than the actual article. MOST people don't even READ the article – much less understand it!!!

Thanks CNN for a NON-STORY..... Who cares!!

I love all the comments. Almost all of them make me laugh: The serious and the nonsense ones. Even the nonsense title
