(CNN) - It's the question the political world is asking after Bristol Palin's debut on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" Monday: Was her famous mother booed by the live studio audience?
That's what appeared to be the case when boos clearly became audible as questioner Brooke Burke was wrapping up an interview with another contestant on the show.
"There's booing in the ballroom - we don't know why," said Burke.
The show then immediately cut to host Tom Bergeron, who was seen sitting next to Palin, about to interview the former Alaska governor.
"I'm here with guest ballroom commentator Sarah Palin, who joins us from Alaska. Sarah, great to have you here," said Bergeron, making no mention of the boos, which had stopped by the time Palin's face was on camera.
Speaking with the Washington Post, the show's executive producer, Conrad Green, said he wasn't sure why the audience was booing. But he doubted it was for Palin, noting that the audience stopped booing when she actually appeared on camera.
"That's my guess, I can't say for sure," he said.
They were booing because Jennifer Grey just did a really great routine and received all eights. She should have received at least one 9. That's the reason for the boos people. Pay attention to the show.
They were booing the judges scoring on the couple that was being interviewed.
In case they weren't booing her, let me make my feelings clear – BOOOOOO! Her presence is the reason I'm sitting out DWTS this year – for the first time. I don't care about Bristol. She is there to get exposure, and ABC wants the viewers – whether they are watching to see her win or fail, like they did with H8 Kate last year. But I refuse to have to watch mama failin -and see her interviewed!
And Dancing isn't live. It's taped. They had plenty of time to silence the crowd between Brooke and Tom's pieces. I'm sure the producers had a fit when Brooke mentioned the booing! Tom, the seasoned pro, ignored it.
And really – what else would they be booing? They could see Failin was about to be interviewed. I never trusted Dancing's results. And here they are, being disingenuous about the boos. BOOOOO....
Will never watch this show since they booked a Palin on it.
Palin is an evil person, but she should not be booed, ignored, yes. Unfortunately, it's her ilk that has promoted this level of incivility and worse. She is hateful, a blatant liar and divisive. Her actions clearly communicate a raw hate for our Constitution and the American way.
You never cease to amaze me CNN – what a joke the media has become.
As always CNN does not investigate a story, but just prints hearsay.....anyone watching the show last night could clearly tell the audiance was booing the score of the two previous dancers ,because they thought it was too low,,,,it was not even closely in sinc with the introduction of Palin.....you are CNN the worldwide leader ,,,look into a story just a little......
She got booed, it was definitely for her, the judges faces said it all! Felt bad for Bristol, but not for her mother. When she is not in the company of her divisive friends, she does not stand a chance! They sent a message loud and clear that she was not welcomed in California and to go back to Alaska.
Maybe people are tired of her and don't believe the garbage she spews anymore. Didn't see the show though not high on my list of favorites.
It was pretty obvious to me that they were booing the judge's scores from the previous dancers. Although the dancers received 24 points, i'm sure many, myself included thought it should have been higher. Leave it to cnn to once again try to knock down the right. Next thing you know Obama is gonna be on the show and you'll report they were cheering for him right after a group gets down dancing.
Typical. Try to make political news out of nothing. If you watched the show and have 1/2 a brain, you wouild recognize that the crowd was booing because they thought the judge's scores for Bristol were too low.
Of course she was booed. Why the media tries to present her like she's politically credible and has anything of value to contribute to the country is baffling. Quit poking this woman in the American citizen's eye already.
What a BS artical... mabe, might have, not sure... and this is a news organization... yah right!
Typical CNN anti-Palin reporting! The booing was obviously for the low scores the judges had awarded the previous dancers as often happens on the show. I am not Palin's # 1 fan but why does CNN go out of it's way to only ever report negativily about her. Another fact that you got wrong was last night was not "Bristol Palin's debut on (the show)". Her debut was on last week's show. Your "journalism" is more suited to the National Inquirer.
Absolutely the boos were for Palin. There was absolutely no reason to sit down and talk to Palin. They don't do that with relatives of other dancers. I wouldn't doubt she requested a fee for being there. She is such a media whore. If she had any brains, which she obviously doesn't, she would have stayed on the campaign trail making money for her own pocket where she belongs.
Was the interviewer afraid to say that the people were booing?? Come on, if they were booing it was more that likely for Sarah Palin.. Bring back Katy to interview her...remember the infamous questions asked of Sarah Palin over and over until she was just totally confused? If I were and alaskan and worked in the government I would still be asking " Hey Sarah you left some unfinished busines on your desk in the governors office....
Dancing with the stars now being used as Palin's political platform is not good news and that's why many viewers aren't watching includng myself.
I saw last night episode (gf forced me... honest) and didnt notice the boos but it was really embarrasing to watch her being... Palin! Sarah might be popular but that doesnt mean people like you. THis is what happens when you spew your lies to the American public. Trying to skew peoples opinion. Only the simple naive minded people fall for it. Its like the Jedi power, waved your hand and convince the simples minds about anything... even on evolution being a myth.
Oh come on, stop trying to cover up for this twit.
Seriously? You think they were booing Sarah Palin? Anyone who watched the show would realize they were booing the lower than expect score given to Jennifer Grey.
I saw the episode last night. They were booing the judges scores for the previous dance. Dumbasses. Some people always want to make something out of nothing.
ABC already put out a statement stating she was not booed. Nice one CNN.
I saw that happen live and as soon as they showed her I had to laugh, "oh thats why they were booing".
