BREAKING: Castle won't launch write-in bid

(CNN) - Rep. Mike Castle who lost the Republican Senate nomination in Delaware has decided not to launch a write-in bid for the seat.

"While I would have been honored to represent Delaware in the U.S. Senate, I do not believe that seeking office in this manner is in the best interest of all Delawareans," Castle said in a statement released Wednesday night.

In the statement Castle declined to endorse either candidate now running.

Castle had until tonight to decide if he would launch a write-in bid.

The GOP nominee Christine O'Donnell will face Democratic nominee Chris Coons in the general election in November. O'Donnell and Coons will face off in a CNN debate at the University of Delaware on October 13th.

This should tell you something when Castle won't endorse the candidate from his own repulsive party. That is because she is a fruit cake like so many of the republicans now running for office. It will be a sad commentary on America and on Americans should any of them win!

Did the Republican Party tell him to back off or did this come as his own thought?
I would think the party told him to stop.

Miss O'Donnell she ride around on a Broom Stick ,she lies about her school and how much. And she don't want too talk too the media, you think she may have other thing to hide. I know about the people of Delaware but you can't be dumb enough to make this woman a U.S. Senate, she already was been proven to be a liar.

Not only is Limbaugh evil. So is his pal James Carville. Don't enlist his commentary anymore.

I can't wait for the debate, and I hope it will be televised nationally. Perhaps they could bring in some monkeys and we could all watch them evolve right before our eyes.

Poor Mike is still so frustrated at his too-little, too-late actions to O'Donnell and especially to the out-of-state monies in her support. He has put in decades of stalwart, important public service, scandal-free and in fact ringed with bi-partisan accomplishment. Jim DeMint and Palin, thank you very much for coming around here and not knowing your business. and ruining our day.

Thank you Christine O'Donnell and the tea party. Your desire to oust Castle practically handed this seat over to the Democrats. Bravo!

  10. Vote Democrats or bend over for Tea Party!

Why? would any upstanding mainstream American want to be connected to a fringe group the GOPTea party. After the dust settles, no more just yelling. It's time to lead and when Americans see their ' Pledge to America" they will come running back in the loving arms of the Democrats.

If O'Donnell is in the best interests of Delaware, then I feel sorry for Delaware. It's in worse shape than anyone thought.
