(CNN) - California GOP gubernatorial nominee Meg Whitman is facing a new hurdle Wednesday as her housekeeper of nine years prepares to make what are being called "explosive allegations" about the former eBay CEO.
The housekeeper has hired famed attorney Gloria Allred, and will hold a news conference at 2 p.m. ET to "tell how she suffered as a long time Latina household employee in Meg Whitman's home and why she is filing a claim against Ms. Whitman," according to a statement released by Allred's office.
Whitman has previously beat back allegations she was involved in a 2007 shoving altercation with an employee at eBay's California headquarters after the Silicon Valley chief felt unprepared for an upcoming media interview. The incident reportedly led to a $200,000 settlement.
"Meg is a serious, results-focused boss. A verbal dispute in a high-pressure working environment isn't out of the ordinary," Whitman campaign spokeswoman Sarah Pompei said of the incident at the time.
The Whitman campaign has not commented on the impending press conference.
Whitman is in a neck-and-neck race with former California Gov. Jerry Brown for the state's highest job.
And this is just the tip of the dirty laundry iceberg – as the elections get closer, more bombshells shall fall...........
Why am I not surprised by this, the Dirty Dems are coming out of the woodwork. Grayson heads the top of the list. They are so desperate they use personal attacks. Why can't they run on their own record??
Here we go with the negative campaigning. This is why most Americans are fed up with politics. This lady shows up a month before the election with her charges. Does anyone find this somewhat suspect?Come on CNN and other media ,find out what is really behind these charges.
Who cares about how she got along with her household employees. The woman stayed 9 years so it must not have been that bad. I'm voting for J. Brown no matter what!
Its against her not the GOP. She should answer the charges not politicize it.
We have heard that dirty tricks are of the Republican, now we see it on the Democrats' side!
As much as you like to make it political this is a legal issue!
