'Explosive allegations' may rock CA race

(CNN) - California GOP gubernatorial nominee Meg Whitman is facing a new hurdle Wednesday as her housekeeper of nine years prepares to make what are being called "explosive allegations" about the former eBay CEO.

The housekeeper has hired famed attorney Gloria Allred, and will hold a news conference at 2 p.m. ET to "tell how she suffered as a long time Latina household employee in Meg Whitman's home and why she is filing a claim against Ms. Whitman," according to a statement released by Allred's office.

Whitman has previously beat back allegations she was involved in a 2007 shoving altercation with an employee at eBay's California headquarters after the Silicon Valley chief felt unprepared for an upcoming media interview. The incident reportedly led to a $200,000 settlement.

"Meg is a serious, results-focused boss. A verbal dispute in a high-pressure working environment isn't out of the ordinary," Whitman campaign spokeswoman Sarah Pompei said of the incident at the time.

The Whitman campaign has not commented on the impending press conference.

Whitman is in a neck-and-neck race with former California Gov. Jerry Brown for the state's highest job.

havent we heard her case before. "I am a fiscally responsible republican that can work with both sides of the legislation to get things done. Trust me that my personal wealth means that i am not beholden to the special interests of California." Well, we tried Arnold, and he failed. Jerry Brown has proof of success by creating surpluses when he was governor. People need to vote based on results, not promises. Jsut because you can run a business, does not, nor has ever meant you can run a government. the two are completely different – one is a dictatorship and the other a democracy. vote with your head in CA this year, not your anger.

Gloria Allred is a celebrity bottom-feeder. She is an attorney who will do or say anything to get in front of a camera. Don't you already see her playing the "Latina" card with this alleged employee? I have a question though; if the employee was so abused and so miserable, why did she stay in Ms. Whitman's employ for nine years? I think we should wait for the real story. It is possible that this employee was fired and is just a disgruntled person who wants to dip into Ms. Whitmasn's deep pockets. I'm sure that's where Gloria Allred is headed!!

Gloria Allred gives lawyers a bad name. She takes cases that put her in the limelight, the heck with her clients. Do you notice we never really hear about how a case turns out? What is her win percentage?

This lady had a job cleaning house for a CEO of a very big company. It was probably a mansion or close to it. I am sure she (if she was a live in) had very comfortable quarters, nice food and was paid well for her services. She is probably some disgruntled employee hired by the Brown campaign to make Whitman look bad.

It will be interesting to see exactly what this "explosive" charge is.

I suspect she'll just buy her way out of it. Much the same as she is attempting to buy the governor's house in California.

IF the latina house keeper suffered at her job she should have quit. If she did quit, when was it? This story is very incomplete. This is total BS and a political stunt. Wonder how much the dumbocrap party paid her for her VERY TIMELY STORY?

Seems somewhat karmic as Meg has been the queen of negative advertising for nearly a year now. She knows a sleaze machine when she see it since she has her own running full speed.

California voters are not interested in sour grapes disgruntled ex-employee allegations. They are interested in who is going to do what is necessary to run the State of California best. Last night's debate showed Meg Whitman has a real plan and Jerry Brown has warmed over Democratic rhetoric. We look around the country now and see how well that works.

So Meg's a victim, is that it? I watched the debate last night. This woman is a complete fool and is in no way shape or form fit to Govern. I don't care about what the Nanny says. Meg Whitman is unelectable based on her proposed policies and complete lack of experience (or interest as witnessed by here never voting) in politics.

I can't wait to hear this story. UH_OH Meg!- not sure when 'reality' turns into a smear campaign. If it happened it happened. Take you punishment.

It will be interesting to see what these 'explosive allegations' are but to be honest, my main problem with this woman and a couple of others is they are spending millions of dollars out of their own money to buy their elections and I don't trust anyone who buys a political office with their personal funds.

Another attempt to smear instead of engage on the issues. The liberal slime just don't have an answer to honest criticism. What a shame! Well maybe not. When someone's true colors show, we have an easier time making a decision on who we want to represent us.

Here is another situation where "money talks". Whitman has spent millions of dollars in an attempt to capture this race.
The question is however; "Why does she think that she is qualified for this position?"

I think it's funny when one side accuses the other of dirty politics . We've all seen dirt fly from both sides.

As much as I dislike Meg Whitman, I disliked sycophantic Allred more. As soon as I hear she's involved, the party she's representing loses credability, in my opinion.

The shoving incident also involved an ethnic minority employee, and also a woman. Unless there are other incidents that show she is an equal opportunity aggressor, I'd really start to wonder...

I hope Meg did not spend all her funds on the campaign, and saved $10 million to pay off her illegal activities.

Yeah because God knows republicans never ever use smear tactics! Isn't that page one on how to campaign in the GOP playbook? You'd think page one would say talk about the issues but somehow it's not mentioned anywhere in their playbook!!
