(CNN) – The big question surrounding Sarah Palin's appearance on "Dancing with the Stars" has been answered.
The former Alaska governor was in fact not booed on the ABC program.
Following a string of media reports questioning whether the studio audience gave Palin a frosty welcome when she was introduced, ABC released raw footage showing the boos were in fact directed toward judges who had - moments earlier - given contestants Derek Hough and Jennifer Grey an "8" for what the crowd believed was a better performance.
The speculation was spawned when, during the show's original airing, off-camera boos were clearly audible immediately before host Tom Bergeron began his interview with Palin. The former GOP vice presidential nominee was in the crowd to watch daughter Bristol compete.
"There's booing in the ballroom. We don't know why," Burke said then. Grey then asked, "Why is there booing?" before the camera cut to Palin and Bergeron.
Bergeron himself told ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Monday the boos were prompted by scores for Grey's performance and not Palin's presence. "They felt that Jennifer got screwed, that she should've gotten nines," he explained.

Who cares? This is not political news or any type of news for that matter. This woman is a moron and if she had been booed she would have deserved it. She is the most disrespectful and vindictive person and runs her mouth constantly and CNN publishes every word that comes out of her hateful mouth. She should stay home and take care of her special needs child. She only mentions him or brings him out for an appearance when she needs more publicity.

Yeah, Right. The crowd cheered with each 8 as the judges held them up. They didn't boo. They booed when the realized Bergeron had headed over to Palin with his mic. Only then......the scores had already been announced with absolutely no booing. Get real. It was a nice cover up try!!

Complete and utter ridiculous... I've watched the footage and the show, she was indeed booed coming out on stage. If they were booing at the "8" the team received they would have booed during the whole judges ratings. In fact, there was a 4 second delay before the booing occurred in relation to when the judges were finished. Enough time for Palin to begin walking on stage...She was booed, that's all there is to it. Definitely need to get your facts straight!

wow. this is an amazing lie. why is ABC covering up the fact that she was booed? People in the audience said they were booing Sarah Palin. There is no mystery. This has been well documented. It's amazing that a "news" organization like CNN doesn't do any real investigating...instead they take ABC's corporate statement as fact. Unbelievable

I think the most clear evidence that Palin wasn't booed was that if she had been, she'd have been all over it on Twitter and the media, blasting ABC, DWTS and left-wing media in general, as she usually does when things don't go her way. The fact she didn't do that suggests she realized the boos – if she even heard them – weren't aimed at her.
