SEIU rips Whitman at start of $5 million ad campaign

(CNN) - The Service Employees International Union is out with a new television ad in California hitting GOP gubernatorial nominee Meg Whitman for paying an undocumented immigrant to be her housekeeper.

"Whitman attacks undocumented workers to win votes, but an undocumented woman worked in her home for nine years," the narrator of the ad says in Spanish.

The ad comes one day after the housekeeper held a press conference during which she alleged that she had been "exploited, disrespected, humiliated and emotionally and financially abused" by the former eBay CEO.

"Whitman says one thing in Spanish - and something different in English," the ad concludes. "The real Meg Whitman has no shame. She's a two-faced woman."

The SEIU said the ad will air on Spanish language stations in the Los Angeles and Fresno media markets beginning Saturday. It is part of a $5 million ad campaign launched by the organization to turn out Latino voters for Whitman's opponent, Democratic nominee Jerry Brown.

Whitman responded to the ad during a press conference on Thursday, saying the unions are "worried" about her success with Latino voters.

"Jerry Brown is very concerned because my campaign is doing very well with Latinos," she said.

"We have included Latinos in our campaign. We have done Spanish language media. Our website is translated into Spanish. I have been to Spanish communities. Latino communities throughout this state and I have worked very hard to win the vote of Latinos," Whitman said. "And I think they are nervous about it. Their campaign is in trouble. They are worried. They took Latinos for granted."

A Los Angeles Times/USC poll released Monday painted a different picture of the race for Latino votes. The survey gave Brown a 19-point edge over Whitman among registered Latino voters.

According to the same poll, Brown held a 49 to 44 point lead over Whitman among all likely voters; it carried a sampling error of plus or minus five percentage points.

She says she is not for any form of amnesty. She is not for a means of road to legalization and thinks she has made in roads tot the Latino community? It's only because she has lied to them in Spanish about what she can do for them.
What she wants tod is put them in her limo and drive them back accross the border.

Oh My God! An illegal housekeeper made almost 50K a year working for Meg Whitman and now she wants to sue?! She should be FREAKING HAPPY as there are a great many LEGAL UNEMPLOYED people, and employed who don't make near that for far more difficult work than "House Keeping".

Figures... when you can't debate in the arena of ideas... when you can't run on your "accomplishments" because the American public overwhelmingly hates them... when you've got nothing left to run on... you reach up your sleeve and pull out the race card.

    DEM FAIL

This woman admittedly committed social security fraud... a felony, among other crimes. Why should we believe her, or have sympathy for her? She is Lucky Whitman didn't turn her in, a lot of law abiding citizens, although not required, would have sent her packing back to Mexico. If anything, it shows that Whitman sympathizes with her plight. I know a lot of unemployed Americans that would have loved $23 an hour. I am a medical resident right now, and on an hourly basis, I make less than a third of what she made, I am $200k in debt from medical school, and I am a born U.S. citizen. Where is the justice? Where are the Gloria Allerds that can help me?

With the thousands of eBay companies thriving because of Meg Whitman's leadership building eBay, she is one of very few people who have probably created more jobs than the SEIU has members. Oh how they must hate a successful capitalist like her!

This ad is weak and desperate. She is threatening their meal ticket; Jerry Brown in the Governor's mansion again. Jerry, you owe this union Big Time for their help here!!!!

Who really believes that a billionaire gets involved in these petty details? Why is this illegal woman still in the country, just being here she is breaking the law? Who is paying Gloria Allred, she does nothing for free? If the SEIU is against a canidate then that's the one to vote for.

More evidence that it was a political hack job by the left to try and discredit Whitman. The worker should be put in jail for committing fraud with a fake social security number, and fake papers. No one seems to be discussing that part of the story. Sounds to me like Whitman is the victim here, not the worker. Of course Democrats could care less about this law if it was a Democrat candidate that had the same thing happen to them. Such a double standard by the Democrat Party that currently runs this country.

    Typical response from Meg Whitman!

She is just looking for votes!..........spend MILLIONS to blanket the air waves and spend MILLIONS more doing Spanish language media.

Meg Whitman ONLY went to the Latino community to look for votes...why NOT just pay them to vote for you?!

CALIFORNIA IS UP FOR SALE...AND MEG WHITMAN IS BUYING IT!!!!

NO SOLUTIONS, NO RESPONSE TO THE AD!....

JUST MORE BLOVIATING AND MORE CLICHE AS SHE CONTINUES TO SPEND MORE MONEY FOR A JOB THAT PAY LESS!!!!

Yea, Pooroldguy – blame the housekeeper because she's not greatful?
Dispite what Fox tells you $50K a year in her part of Cali will barely keep a roof over your head.
Repubs are always crying about being the victim of their own crimes.
Mega doesn't want any amnesty – then start with her.
It will be very sad "morning in America" if Califorians let this person buy the election.

Now this is good entertainment. Whitman says she'll do a polygraph. Anyone can beat a polygraph if you're a natural LIAR. Sounds typical of a millionaire/billionaire to hire some cheap labor. It almost reminds me of what's going on nationally. American workers can't find work because the fat cats are outsourcing jobs.

Typical Union attack. And typical political ad because it only shows the point they want you to see.

Completely leave out all the documentation showing the worker presented themselves as a documented worker, the 1099 showing pay, etc. Ignore all facts that don't show your point.

Any the typical replies of those who refuse to look anywhere else to find more of the story than a single point of view.

They get ridiculous salaries with even more ridiculous Retirements and other benefits.....just so the leaders of the Thugs can squeeze $$$$ to dole out to crooked Liberal Democrats like Brown.....All I can say is you guys better live it up while you can because November is coming and then 2012 is coming and we WILL take our country back. The only way you will get to live in a UK or French social society is to MOVE there. After November I understand there will be discounted "one-way" tickets to you social society of choice.

Meg is a pathological liar and hypocrite. Her script is attack the Middle Class, blame Teachers, insult Government workers and give her fellow billionaires/millionaires more perks. Finally people are starting to see the REAL Meg. An ego-maniac that shoves her employees and is too cheap to hire an American citizen to be her maid. Then she offers to take a POLYGRAPH re: whether or not she knew the Mexican was an illegal? What a joke Meg.

So the union bosses have sold out the American worker in favor of more illegals coming to this country. And they support Obama and his plans to grant them amnesty. It was the union that bussed in people to protest Arizona's law.Now they have decided to use their and union workers money to go after Whitman.

"I know a lot of unemployed Americans that would have loved $23 an hour."

How many do you know who woul dlove being told that "even though your agreement says 15 hours per week at $23/hour, I want you working as many hours as I want you to and I'm not paying you for any past the 15 hours we agreed to"...hmmmm? THAT is the accusation. The implication is that Princess Forehead knew she had this woman under her thumb the second she found out she was illegal, so she stopped pretending she had to honor her contract and started abusing her because she knew she had her trapped.

The MORE important part is the alleged letter from the SSA notifying Princess Forehead that the woman's SS# didn;t check out right. That thing hits the evidence table and there's not a thing she can do to excuse her behavior.

*sob* poor Meg has smeared her opponents the entire time and "stands by her ads", even the ones that contradict the previous ones (in the primary she was sending all illegals across the border, now she has Spanish language ads touting here tolerance).

She's a complete liar and fool and is totally unelectable.
