(CNN) - Senator Russ Feingold's campaign is changing an advertisement which ran afoul of the National Football League Tuesday by using real game video without permission.
The Wisconsin senator's campaign commercial shows several fictitious scenes of football players celebrating on the field –and also one real clip of the famous wide receiver Randy Moss.
"In pro football, they call this excessive celebration," the Democratic incumbent intones over the video, saying players are penalized or fined for it.
In the ad, Feingold goes on to accuse Republican opponent Ron Johnson and his corporate backers supporters of the "same kind of behavior," claiming: "they're dancing in the end zone because they think they're going to take down the U.S. Senator who's been named the number one enemy of Washington lobbyists."
The ad, with the Senator walking on a football field with a tie score on the board behind him, says "fortunately the game isn't over yet."
The Moss video was sure to hit home with Packer fans, showing Moss as a Minnesota Viking pretending to "moon" the crowd at Lambeau Field after a 2005 playoff touchdown.
But the NFL wasn't amused. A league spokesman said, "We did not license the footage and have contacted the Senator's campaign about removing it."
A few hours later, the Feingold campaign told CNN "we are making an edit to the ad to accommodate the NFL's concerns."
Polls have shown Feingold trailing Johnson, with a CNN/Time Magazine/Opinion Research Corporation poll in September showing Johnson with a 51-45% advantage.
Man, the dems must believe everyrhing they watch on msnbc!. Personal accountabity goes by the wayside. Hey lets tax the wealthy and companies who employ the middle class so the lower class and illegals can sit on the couch and watch Oprah.
Typical, democrats feel that they should get everything for free. They should not have to pay for anything
Only thing Ron Johnson is going to do is Gut worker rights and Bust unions
I traveled back to Wisconsin to visit family about two weeks ago. My Dad watches TV at night. I saw one commercial from the Russ Feingold camp played EVERY commercial break and sometimes twice each commercial break. I got sick of seeing it, and I don't even know much about the man. I grew so sick of seeing that same commercial over and over and over again I can't see why anyone would want to re-elect that bonehead.
When the Democrats have nothing to run on, the failed stimulus bill passed in the dead of night, the health care bill that no one, including the President, read or understood, the cap and trade bill, all of these "historic" bills shoved down the peoples throats against their will, leaves them with fear and smear, and the Saul Alinksy approach of personal destruction.
