(CNN) - Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer received some help from the president Tuesday in a new web video on her campaign website and on Youtube.
The minute long spot, which is not airing on television, shows footage of Obama at a California campaign event earlier in the year.
"You have in Barbara Boxer a sub-compact Senator with a seemingly inexhaustible supply of energy," Obama says in the video. "I expect you to be out there making phone calls and knocking on doors and rallying the troops to make sure that you return Barbara Boxer to the United States Senate."
In the footage from the rally, Obama talks about how he and Boxer will continue to create jobs and rebuild the economy together. He stumped for her in April and May of this year and sent an email on Saturday to urge grassroots organizers to get involved with the campaign.
Boxer is locked in a tight race with former Hewlett Packard CEO, Republican Carly Fiorina. In the latest CNN/Time/Opinion Research Poll of likely voters released September 29th, 52 percent of respondents said they would back Boxer and 43 percent said they would back Fiorina. The survey had a sampling error of 2.5 percentage points.
