(CNN) - Pennsylvania GOP Senate nominee Pat Toomey has out-raised his Democratic opponent for each of the first three quarters of 2010, according to fundraising numbers released by both campaigns Tuesday.
Toomey brought in $3.8 million in the third quarter, bringing his total individual contributions to $14 million. His third quarter haul represents his biggest fundraising quarter since launching his campaign in April 2009.
Democratic Rep. Joe Sestak raised $3.2 million from July to September.
Toomey out-raised Sestak in the second quarter by over $1 million; in the first quarter, Toomey's $2.3 million fundraising tally doubled Sen. Arlen Specter's $1.1 million. Specter went on to lose his Democratic primary bid to Sestak.
Toomey has raised twice as much money as Sestak in this election cycle.
A slew of polls out of the commonwealth have Toomey leading Sestak by anywhere from 3 to 9 percentage points. A CNN/Time/Opinion Research Corporation poll released two weeks ago put Toomey's lead at 5 points.
