O'Donnell complains of 'character assassination'

Newark, Delaware (CNN) – Delaware Republican Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell is asking voters to give her a second look. At a candidate forum sponsored by a group of local Republicans, O'Donnell blamed her campaign's recent troubles on unfair coverage in the "liberal media."

"I've put my name on the line. And I've taken a lot of hits ... a lot of character assassination," O'Donnell said.

She's the one that gave them ammo. You wouldn't have a character problem if you had good character, Christine.

It's funny... We know EVERYTHING we could possibly want to know and then some about O'Donnell, but other than the "bearded marxist" bit, we know nothing of her opponent.

Want to get in an old-fashioned knock-down-drag-out fisticuffs? Accuse a "journalist" of being a right-wing conservative tea bagger... and get ready to get socked in the kisser.

Nope, no liberal media here... nothing to see here... move along... these aren't the droids you're looking for.

Perfect Republican/Tea Party candidate, falling right in line with the "agenda". Take no responsibility for your own words or actions:
Blame the "liberal" media, blame the Democrats, blame Santa Claus, but don't blame me.

  9. Why Isn't CNN reporting that the Chamber of Commerce is collecting money from Foreign Corporations to run Attack Ads against Democrats?

She confuses "character" with wacked-out far right wing political beliefs.

And it's funny how OFTEN Coon has been discussed by the media over the past few weeks, but hey – all the Tea Partiers see is the stuff about O'Donnell putting her foot in her mouth once again and start crying about it. Maybe it's because Coon actually is a rational candidate who take seriously his role in government? Oh, no – must be the dastardly "liberal media" out to get O'Donnell for acting like a fool again. Don't they know to just look the other way and pretend she's competent?

So where does her "bearded Marxist" opponent stand on the issues he'll be asked to vote on, if elected? Oh yeah... wouldn't want to talk about THAT!! So let's just crank up one more smear story about the marxist's opponent. Don't bother to see what other stuff is in HIS closet!

Honestly Delaware, does DC need ONE MORE Obozo rubber stamper that ADMITS he's a marxist??!! I don't think you're that dumb.

O'Donnell calls it "character assasssination"... I call it "understanding your candidates".

Sorry GOTPers.. she is way too far to the right, and you know it.

That is right Christine it is the big bad lame stream media’s fault for broadcasting what you said. Another great example of a politician that cannot take responsibility for their own words and behavior. Is this really the best Delaware Republican’s have to offer?

I personally have no simpathy for O'Donnel. She needs to stand and explain her past statements and actions. If she didn't want these ghosts coming up she should have stayed out of politics. I feel she is another Palin crying woe is me when the "liberal media" "unfairly" paints them in a bad light. They paint themselves that way and cry for publicity. I think it's schoolgirl games and it's unprofessional. If all media outlets would ignore O'Donnels craziness she would fizzle out.

Nothing to see here. Just more MSM distraction to look balanced while they sell the "GOP is da bomb" narrative.

To 26 Days until Socialism dies in the United States,
So your response to this article about people smearing the character of one candidate is to respond by smearing her opponent. I for one HAVE (I can use all caps too, it’s FUN) have heard Coons speak on the issues. And finally, resorting to name calling is a poor substitute for an argument of substance. Please work on that.

How is it "character assination" when the "librul media" is using HER words? You can't "assinate" someone's "character" with the truth! Didn't she use character assination against Mr. Castle? Didn't she make not so subtle innuendo about his sexual orientation? I'm so sick of the rethugliban and their teabags pointing fingers, then crying foul when fingers point back at them. They can dish it out but they sure can't take it, and they sure don't deserve to be elected. I'd call chrissy an ignorant, hateful little witch but that's an insult to witches.

"Wow the Dems are really reaching. How about running on your record?"

Let us note that the above comment was made under an article about a GOPer attack ad that (a) had nothing to do with the GOP candidate's record and (b) was being legitimately criticized for blatantly offensive sterotyping of the WV people.

Do you guys listen to yourselves speak? Seriously. It's like the gene for conservatism displaces the genes that allows for self-controlling one's hypocrisy and the ability to detect irony.

Let's start with what character are you talking about? Sounds to me that anybody who has been endorsed by the half term governor is (good luck) a stepping stone, according to the mad e-mail from her husband, to hi'ss wife candidacy for President.
You were used just like all the other teabaggers (miller, angle, paul, etc.).
Unless you can mature in one week I would pull out of the debate right now. When you talk you sound and look like some little teenage girl pining for a boy band. The Senate job is not to be used by someone as incompetent as you to pay your bills.
    Get a job!!

I blame video tape. If it wasn't for video tape recording her image and voice and saving it for later viewing she wouldn't have these problems now. People would have long forgotten all of the really stupid stuff she has said. People would be unaware of her extreme views on variouus topics.
It's that darned video tape I tells ya

It is hard for her to blame other people. She keeps providing the ammuntion that other people use to inform the voters of Delaware. I guess that she really needs to learn to shut up or at least learn and accept what she has said in the past is coming back to haunt her... I guess that haunt isn't the best word since she doesn't want to be associated with ghosts and witches.

How in the world do the GOP/TeaPers think they are going to win elections when they either run away from all media except *friendly* FOX, or blame other media outlets for bringing to light what the candidates themselves have previously stated. Angle, O'Donnell, Haley, Rand, Palin, McMahon, Whitman, Fiorina come to mind.

Rather hard to convince those beyond the base of 30%ers that these candidates are indeed qualified to represent ALL of America and not just Looney-Tune America when they each run away from addressing any opinion but their own . . .
