Palin on presidential run

(CNN) - There's further proof that former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is considering a presidential run in 2012.

According to the Palm Beach Post, Palin discussed her political ambition at a webcast taping for conservative magazine, Newsmax, on Wednesday.

"I'll run for President if the American people want me to," Palin told the live audience.

But this is not the first time Palin has addressed the issue.

"A reason to run (for president) is if nobody else were to step up with the solutions that are needed to get the economy back on the right track," Palin told Fox News in September.

And in an April interview with "100 Huntley Street," a daily Christian talk show, Palin said she would "pursue" a presidential bid if she decides it's the best way to help everyday people with their challenges.

The new comments come as Palin gears up to campaign with RNC Chairman Michael Steele next week and after a so-far successful season of candidate endorsements for the midterm elections. A new CBS poll out Thursday found that 64 percent of those surveyed thought she would not make an effective president.

I think she meant, if it's the best way to help the Palin family with their financial gains.

Sarah Palin couldn't run a dog kennel which is why she couldn't handle running a state.

Four and the door is right about Palin inspiring support in a way that the Dems can't and Obama doesn't stand a chance in 2012 unless this economy does a hell of a turn around. It really is all about the economy. The thing he/she got wrong is that Palin is an expert on conservative ideology. Would you seriouisly rank her with Krauthammer, Kristol, Gingrich and the like? She is woefully intellectually outgunned. Anyone dismissing the enthusiasm for her is underestimating her but it's a thin base, not broad enough to win an election. This would be the one case where Obama would win. We, the people, aren't that crazy yet!

Can we please stop with the "Will She, Won't She" nonsense. Unless something major happens (scandal, etc.) to make her run completely untenable, she WILL run. Obviously. Why do we pretend there's any doubt. Spare me.

What a clownish ignorant fool of a woman! Anyone who would even consider her for the highest office in the land is much worse. If only she could get the Repub/bagger nomination...guaranteed landslide for Obama.

It will be a sad day for our country if she was to become the Republican nominee. Although, I would LOVE to see an Obama- Palin debate!

If Sarah can read the polls of the coming mid-term election, why can't she read her own polls which people say she is not qualified.
She has to put her ego aside and think fully how to take care of her family!

That she could even go this far is a testament tto the fact canadians have been correct all these decades feeling superior to you. Over here she'd be paid no attention other than to be laughed at but you guys are gullible like the germans were. All big powers end up dumbing down and then losing their position.

Now that's Entertainment! This airhead has more than one problem besides being an airhead who's been trying to dumb down America. Has she ever had an actual idea, a plan, a thought for that matter. Anybody (as she proves) can sit back and take pot shots, it takes real brains to actually govern. Not to mention would Half Gov. Palin also want to become Half Pres. Palin? But that being said, her statement of "I'll run for President if the American people want me to," is her out and also the out of a grateful country, because the America people will not be asking her to run.

Vote NO in NOvember to the party of NO.

Please, please run Sarah. It will finally give us a chance to shut you up for good.

But then, reality doesn't seem to have any impact on you. You could lose the election and still claim you won.

I can't wait for the "debates". Obama won't have to make you look foolish – you excel at that without assistance. But I'd really love to see another interview with Katie Couric. I can't imagine what will come out of your mouth next time around.

    Dumb as an Alaskan stump.

it's not like we need an experienced leader who didnt quit their job after only 2 years. But it would be nice to have somebody litterate who knows where the continent of Africa is.

Please oh please OH PLEASE run for President!
If President Obama could just get you to run, it would be a clear path to a second term, unless he does something REALLY stupid, like??? (I can't even think that dumb)

By "the American people" I assume she is referring only to what she defines as "real Americans". (ie.Those people who share her views.) The rest of us are all liberal, leftist, unpatriotic, socialist, elites who do not belong in America, despite the fact that we pay our taxes, run businesses, employ our fellow Americans, serve our country and volunteer within our communities.

So yes, she will run, and it will not be a good thing.

BTW... Is there anything more elitist than saying you know better than other people because you're a mother, and moms just know when things aren't right ?

She's the primary reason that McCain lost. She's simply not competent enough to be the president of the United States. When are the sensible "middle" people like me going to get a candidate. I'm 47 years old and have yet to vote for a president that truly represented me. I always voted for whom I perceived was the lesser of two evils... Nowadays the candidates are either extreme right or extreme left. The religious right has taken over the republican party and the Democrats seem to be leaning to far to the left recently. WHERE IS THE MIDDLE MAJORITY!!!?

I wonder if she'd quit in her third year as President on the (highly unlikely) chance that she is elected.
