(CNN) – Republicans came out swinging in their weekly address Saturday, with the speech sounding like a midterm election roadmap for candidates across the country.
Republican Sen. John Barrasso of Wyoming delivered the remarks that criticized the president over the unemployment rate, federal debt, taxes and health care.
"Very little trust remains. The president's policies are irresponsible, and unsustainable," Barrasso said in the video. "If you are tired of Washington's broken promises, you now have a choice. More of the same or a new direction."
Barrasso said the GOP will put the country in the right direction, pointing to Republicans' recently unveiled "Pledge for America" that he says addresses taxes, spending and health care.
Most of the president's weekly address emphasized the importance of education, but he too touched on the economy.
"All that really matters is getting back on your feet," President Obama said in his address. "If we're serious about getting our fiscal house in order, we'll need to make some tough choices. I'm prepared to make those choices."
The addresses come one day after the latest 9.6 percent unemployment figure was released and a little less than a month before the November elections.
If some of these rich repos would start hireing it would help. Instead they whine and blame the current adminitration for the mess they created in the last one. Every time the president try to come up with new job groth the repos shut him down . Vote all the repos out . Do you really think they will crete more jobs. What a joke. Have not had increased taxes for the last two years . do you see more jobs? so if we start taxing them like we should do you really think it will hurt the job market. I think not Vote all repos out in november. They think the dems will stay home . lets show them get out and vote.
Ancient Texan – if that's the best you can do, change the channel!
Block action in Congress and blame the President for inaction! and it actually gets votes!
We deserve our government.
More garbage from the right. You wanna kill off what is left of the middle class? Vote GOP this fall...
I am so proud to see that the message is finally getting out. I just read all the comments and there were 2 or 3 for the Republicans. The rest were for the Democrats. Now if we can just get the word out some more we will win and let them waste there billions. They have tried every dirty trick in the book and every lie they can think of. They threaten us daily about their win on Nov.2. Well guess what? I think we can win! Don't believe the polls. Go Democrats! And the best part is we can do it without spending a dime. This is for the country we all love. Please vote.
2 years. And they wonder why we continue to say they are uneducated. Stupid? moron? you claim two years, and poof, Democrats did it. That is the most childish rant I've heard. Maybe we can go back to pre-school huh? fit the blocks in the right holes? you know....just to make sure you are somewhat stable at the very least. Tired of this idea of who is to blame, a lot of them are to blame, Dem and Republican, but seriously 2 years? you people can do better than that, dig deeper, try harder, so far its fallen flat.
Go ahead middle class and vote for these people and see where you be in about two year from now.Right now at less the bleeding has stopped.
