Fiorina: Palin is qualified to be president

(CNN) – Carly Fiorina, the Republican Senate candidate in California gifted Sarah Palin a high compliment on Monday.

"I certainly think she's qualified to be president of the United States," Fiorina said in an interview on CNN's The Situation Room.

But when the former Alaska governor, who endorsed Fiorina in the primary race, visits California Saturday with Michael Steele, Fiorina won't be in attendance. Instead, she said, she will be campaigning with Republican Sen. John McCain at an event for veterans.

"Sarah Palin is here to endorse her book I believe and to raise money," Fiorina told CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer. "I am here running for office so we're all busy."

Fiorina, the former CEO of Hewlett Packard, wouldn't say if she considers herself a member of the Tea Party movement.

"I see myself as a candidate running for public office for the very first time," Fiorina said. "I see myself as serving the voters of California."

During the 2008 presidential election, when Fiorina was an economic adviser McCain's presidential campaign, she said Palin didn't have the experience to run a major cooperation. And in subsequent interviews said John McCain, Barack Obama and Joe Biden didn't either.

Fiorina is in a tough race against three-term incumbent Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer. In the latest CNN/Time/Opinion Research Poll of likely voters, 52 percent of respondents said they would back Boxer and 43 percent said they would back Fiorina. The survey had a sampling error of 2.5 percentage points.

She's so far confirmed as being qualified for: A failed vice presidential run, a half term as governor, a teen beauty queen, a mother, and a media darling. Other than that, she's also qualified for: .... see I really can't think of anything... let me check my palm.... OH! She's qualified for becoming the queen of fascism, and navigator, since she can see Russia from her house.

then my dog is qualified to be president. And in a match with Palin, my dog would win because she's smarter, more honest, and a hell of a lot better looking.

And with that, the campaign was won by Boxer.

Seriously, Carly, you were right to say what you said about Palin two years ago but were forced to do "damage control". Then you had no choice but to abide by the message of the McCain camp. NOW, however, YOU are the campaign. Saying something stupid like Palin is qualified to be President simply alienates all rational people. The only job Palin held and finished was mayer of Wasilla. She quit the job of Alaska Governor, one of the easiest and weakest state executive jobs in the country. She has only slgithly better educational experience than O'Donnell of Delaware. I wouldn't hire Palin in my company for anything more than as a spokesperson. Allowing Palin to think for herself is no Palin's expertise. If she is not scripted and prepped she would be a disaster. Shame on you Carly for showing your true color.... YELLOW!!!!!

  7. Republican's Are Crazy !

Fiorina just disqualified herself to be a senator ! Because of her lack of sound judgment ! Palin is the most vile, polarizing, lying, despicable woman to enter politics in quite sometime ! Not only are her personal qualities suspect but her career record is as well , to put it plainly she's quit just about every job she's had ! I would hate to see her trying to figure out the financial crisis , Iran, N.Korea, Afghanistan, Israel and the many domestic problem's that pop up that a president has to face . If she had to deal with the problem's the president has had to deal with , she would have quit six times by now !

She technically because she is a natural born citizen over the age of 35. That is many people in the US. That doesn't mean that she has the intellectual understanding and stamina to do the job.

Yes, Palin may be qualified by age and citizenship. Beyond that, Palin isn't qualified to be President. She is a quitter....there are many in Alaska who know the real deal about Palin. Fiorina of course, would say Palin is qualified....it is called kiss -. It doesn't matter to either one of them that they really aren't qualified....they are just seeing the $$$ signs and the ability to abuse power with the support of their ditto-head followers.

Saying Palin is ready to be president is a sure way to be working on her campaign staff in 2011 and 2012......since you won't have to worry about getting votes in California.

If Ms. Fiorina thinks being the mayor of Wasilla and a 1/2 term Governor of Alaska, quitting that to cash in on her "fame", being qualified to be President I guess she can wrongly think that.

These comments are not helping Carly Fiorina's cause. Sarah Palin is an opportunist and is proving to be savvy in her ability to make money and a name for herself by preying on the moronic fears of her constituency. I have yet to hear her say anything of value. She is one of the dumbest public figures of our times.I thought G. W. Bush was dumb, but Sarah wins the prize.

  18. Republican's Are Crazy !

What a laughing stock this woman is ! She clearly does not have a clue of what leadership is ! Palin is a vile, hate filled, polarizing, lying and despicable person ! Palin is not only a quitter, but doesn't even have the mental ability to carry out the daily task of governing a state , let alone a country ! Could you imagine her trying to deal with world leader's and handling our domestic problems , she would quit so fast , it would be a world record ! Palin is nothing more than a useful idiot that the republican's have used to rally support from weak minded individual's !

Are you going to serve the voters the way you served the employees at HP? Oh, wait, they were your employees and you could do whatever you wanted. This is a little different, Carly. Your little back-room espionage deals and your off-shoring are going to be remembered come November. Then what will you do???

So, the logical question for the reporter to ask is what changed between the 2008 presidential election and know to qualify Palin for the presidency. It is utterly ridiculous that Fiorina would say such an outlandishly stupid thing. It does tell us a great deal about her judgement and it isn't very good.

Fiorina is playing it smart. No endorsement of Palin means that Palin, her husband, and the whole twisted clan come after her. We saw that play out last week with Miller.

Carly Fiorina says Sarah Palin is qualified to be president of the United States. Therefore, Carly Fiorina is unfit to be anything.
