Angle reveals eye-popping fundraising haul

(Updated at 5:43 p.m. ET with Reid campaign response)

(CNN) – Nevada Republican Sharron Angle's Senate campaign announced a massive third quarter fundraising haul on Tuesday, potentially positioning the Tea Party candidate for an ad-heavy push weeks ahead of the midterm elections.

Angle's campaign brought in $14 million between July and September, spokesman Jarrod Agen told CNN.

Agen did not reveal how much cash the campaign had in the bank, or how much money it spent during the quarter, but said a "breakdown" of the numbers would be released Tuesday afternoon.

The 8-digit sum blows away every other quarterly fundraising haul this election cycle.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's campaign spokesman, Kelly Steele, responded to Angle's fundraising numbers.

"Sharron Angle ignores Nevada media and exploits her right-wing allies to gather support from out-of-state," Steele said in a statement. "Unfortunately for Angle, no amount of money can reverse Nevadans' understanding that her extreme and dangerous agenda is far outside the mainstream."

Steele also told CNN that the Reid campaign plans to announce their third quarter fundraising totals on October 15th.

Reid finished the second quarter with more than four times as much cash on hand as Angle.

Consider it a clear indication of how much America hates Harry Reid and wants to throw his sorry arse out the door in November. He has done massive damage to this country. Every second he remains in office is another second this country is in danger.

Those comments about those two cities being under Sharia Law– I don't care how many ads you put out, you are plain dumb and don't belong within 5 miles of any public office. I can understand somebody not being thrilled with the economy or Harry Reid, but don't cut off your nose to spite your face.

Hopefully, this will help get Angle the exposure that she needs to unseat Nevada's biggest disappointment - Harry "I don't listen to the American people" Reid.

Don't believe any ads run by Reid. He's been in the senate long enough to know what he stands for... and taxing and spending don't grow the economy and never have.

Ya know, Colonel Hogan and his men could make as many German marks as they needed for their operations because Newkirk had a printing press down in the tunnels. They made it look easy.

How many printing presses does the Tea Party have?

And I'm certain those were all small individual donations from concerned Nevadans right? Not massive amounts of corporate cash and foreign money filtered through shady 3rd party groups like Crossroads or the Koch Bros, right?

It's all been said. nobody could possibly have missed the show. if the voters of Nevada put this woman into office they will regret it and there will be nothing they can do about it..Wake up people, this woman is a nut case loser. She could be responsible for some pretty drastic legislation that could really hurt an already devistated country

I truly hope that the people of Nevada are smarter than this. This woman sounds, looks and acts like a first class lunatic. One Flew Over the Cuckoos Next comes to mind every time I see her doing a faux news interview or running away from the real press.
We also have to count all those teabaggers from across the country who are sending her money. Maybe even foreign investors!!!

Hopefully this will help Sharia Angle combat Muslims in Dallas and Dearborn, and all the other places she thnks Sharia Law is hiding. It appears that billionaires and foreign donors have not been affected by the Bush/republican near depression as middle America.

Good for Sharon Angle, I hope she can unseat one of obama's lap dogs. To bad those idiots in California cannot get rid of botox pelosi. Oh well, when the Republicans take control of the congress, her remaining liberals will vote her out of party leadership and she will quit the congress anyway. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Great, she will need all she can get. The slimy unions are pouring money and people in to Nevada to help keep the evil, corrupt Reid at the controls of the money spigot for their exectives, golf courses and Viagara.

this is astounding, you know it has to be corporate money, what type of idiotic morons would waste thier money this way. so nine days after Obama was ignaugurated the tea party formed due to out of control taxes, defeicits, etc that were all caused by the previous administration but blamed on Obama nine days later, yeah ok.

Republicans don't care what a lunatic Angle is, as long as she beats Harry Reid, so they're throwing money at this unfortunate candidate. I'm willing to bet that a lot of these funds are from illegal sources, or at least from sources like foreign nationals and corporations, which should be illegal in America.

There are those now throwing around tons of money for the sole purpose of buying control of the voters’ thinking and to achieve a return to ‘more of the same’ that so greatly benefited them. They seek to con and manipulate public opinion and to control the elections’ outcome by totally dominating the air waves, and even the internet using paid staffers / volunteers, with their money and substantial efforts to saturate people’s minds with their scripted propaganda. There is no conscience or real concern for other than their own interests as all they want is to regain the advantage they had and they will literally do/say anything to return to ‘more of the same’.

Remember the bold and arrogant, self-serving irresponsibility that ‘more of the same’ actually refers to: ‘trickle down’ dependency; Tax cuts for the wealthy; Global Warming not a problem; Private Accounts for Social Security; Minimized/ignored warnings before 9/11; Trumped up justification for attacking Iraq; Abandoned effort in Afghanistan; Afghanistan presented as secure; False coalition with America paying 95%+; Iraqi oil money never paying for the war; Pressure put on the intelligence community; Authorized departure from Geneva Convention rules; Misrepresentations on wars to manipulate public opinion; No bid contracts to favored vendors; Responsibility for port security to Dubai Ports; Excusing the humongous deficit and growing trade deficit; Their apathetic reaction to hurricane Katrina aftermath; Blocking bringing American drugs back into the US; Exposing the CIA agent's identity; Squelching the 'wiretapping without court order' story and falsely raising the security threat level, both done just before 2004 election; Excessive deregulation and the lack of any responsible oversight favoring a few and resulting in unchecked greed, gross dishonesty and criminal self-indulgence; Encouraging the deporting of American jobs and taxes; the sociopathic GWBush falsely presented as a 'born again Christian'; and since Bush-Cheney: Republican total belligerent concentration on their political ambitions; Stubbornly obstructing and faulting all efforts to address problems; Irresponsibly withholding any bipartisan cooperation; Aggressively intimidating and coercing their representatives to force unity; Supporters organizing and sponsoring Tea Party movement, much like the ‘Swiftboat” effort, to deceptively manipulate public opinion; Selecting candidates based on demonstrative ability and not on qualifications; Arrogance and gross dishonesty using scare tactics and emotional appeals; The distribution of extensive misinformation intended to mislead and to exploit: yes and even subtly using both sides of racial issue, without conscience; on and on totally without guilt, while arrogantly insultingly the public in just taking them for granted.

The opportunity the voters now have is to send the message that they can’t be so easily duped, that the ‘full court press’ con isn’t going to work and that they really want bipartisan cooperation to honestly and conscientiously represent the people, the majority. To firmly reject the Republicans, Tea Party and regular, in November will send that message and force them to return to being the Grand Ole Party they once were – representing the people instead of just Special Interests and the few. Then we would see progress based on responsible cooperation instead of self-serving polarization and in 2012 we could even have effective competition that would offer the people real choice for honest representation instead of just ‘more of the same’. To tie government up now with gridlock will completely halt any progress, encourage and reward self-serving irresponsibility and ask for ‘more of the same’, making any real political reform near impossible – and thus completely play into the hands of Special Interests and the influential, powerful and extremely wealthy few who currently ‘call the shots’ for the Republican Party.

"Reid finished the second quarter with more than four times as much cash on hand as Angle. "

WHERE DID REID GET HIS $ DNCNN??????

The Dems are pulling out all stops with scare tactics about Soc Sec and the Stalinist style accusations abot foriegn money in campaigns that they throw out there, but it won't work. Dispite the liberal media like DNCNN who parrott the Dem talking points without question, the "Old" Media's monopoly on the news is OVER.

I hope Harry Reid will be finished as of Nov. 3, 2010

14 million... I can think of any number of ways to contribute my money for other causes. 14 million... do you know how many homeless vets that can shelter and feed. Come on people, Sharon Angle does not need 14 million. There are plenty of people out there definitely more needy than Sharon Angle.
