CNN Election Center offers polls, races and details in between

Voters now have two new ways to explore the 2010 midterm elections on CNN.com.

The CNN Election Center serves as an online hub for the midterm elections, featuring the latest information about the most important issues and races determined by CNN's Best Political Team on television and online. From news novices to political junkies, and first-time voters to lifetime voters, the Election Center is a vast collection of resources and information to every voter's fingertips, whether at a keyboard or on a mobile device.

The Election Center includes "The Basics," which explains why midterms matter and what's at stake. "The Races" provide detailed, state-by-state information including interactive maps, Races to Watch, and visuals that show the balance of power in the House and Senate. "The Issues" break down the basics of the biggest themes of the midterm elections.

As election day approaches, voters can create their own Election Center at www.CNN.com/MyElection to follow the latest local headlines, information on congressional and gubernatorial contests, polling information, and fundraising. Users can also follow up to 15 races or simplify their search by selecting three races that are most important to you.

Voters can also now visit the CNN Polling Center, offered in partnership with Time Magazine. The Polling Center provides the most comprehensive polling data of any news organization in the political sphere. Found at www.CNN.com/Polling, it provides access to every major public poll from issues to races including House, Senate, and gubernatorial contests, presidential approval ratings, and the mood of the nation as well as the CNN Poll of Polls.

To access the CNN Election Center on a mobile device, enter http://m.cnn.com/election into the mobile browser. Enter a ZIP code into the "My Election" field to access instant results to the races that matter most.

One week before election day CNN will offer more information about each candidate through a partnership with Project VoteSmart that allows voters to delve into a candidate's background. It includes biographical information, details about campaign fundraising, voting records, and all-important positions on the issues.
